Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

is the better singer.. Miley uses a lot of technology in her voice .it’s not pure and it’s raspy and annoying.. It’s funny that you point out the Oprah performance that she did where it wasn’t even that great .. And then you don’t point out all the other sucky performances she had like the KCA awards.. Miley is GREAT role model and just because she had a few unfortunate bumps on the road doesnt mean she can be replaced, Selena may be a great girl but i dun think shell do a 3rd as much as miley has !

Also, demi is in camp rock, which is going to be bigger than high school musical 1&2, and so that is another way for demi to get noticed. but anyway you put it….. miley= OUT demi= IN [the new miley, then its going to be.... demi= NOT OUT BUT NOT TOTALY IN [ because selena might be in] and selena= IN.
Now maybe after selena or during the time selena is going to be big, chelsea staub is going to be in because, shes atrring in J.O.N.A.S which are also, of course starring the jonas brothers, and like i said the jonas brothers are going to be in for a while, chelsea hasd a good chance of being in a little bit.
