OlderSelena Gomez is the New Miley Cyrus
Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

seriously, if disney backed up vanessa hudgens they need to back up miley cyrus. and to say selena is “the new miley cyrus” is completely untrue. i dont think any disney stars as of right now are going to come anywhere close to the fame that miley cyrus and the hannah montana brand have produced.
sure selena may not have the (public) problems miley has, but then again selena isnt as well known as miley and no one really cares enough to dig up dirt on her. i mean, theres pictures of mitchell musso smoking weed, and has anyone said anything about it? no. but im sure if it was miley it would be EVERYWHERE.

I don’t like miley anymore, but there’s something about this girl that i don’t like either, and also, no one wil EVER achieve what miley has, no matter how cuter this selena kid is.
selena is a great girl, and she would definitely go big in the business, thanks to the mouse house. but i dont really think we should start comparing her to miley. she’ll go big, no doubt about it, but miley will always be a legend of disney and different girls could succeed and become disney queens, even huger than miley herself, but there is only ONE miley cyrus, only ONE hannah montana and that won’t ever change. :)

HECK YES! Selena is wayyy better than Miley Cyrus. Selena and her best friend Demi (Camp Rock) are going to be wayy better rolemodels than Miley Cyrus ever will be.
I love Selena Gomez. She is absolutely adorable! I love the friendship that Selena and Demi share. Ever since I saw that Miley and Mandy video making fun of them, I started to dislike Miley. She is becoming too obnoxious and she better watch it… she’s been getting bad publicity lately and she is only 15 years old.
