Tween Disney star Selena Gomez is all smiles on the set of a People magazine photo shoot in Los Angeles late last week.
Selena, 15, has kids spellbound as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2007, she appeared in the second-season episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, a pop star who is a rival of Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus. But could there be a real-life rivalry between Selena and Miley?
E! recently reported that Disney executives are so worried about Miley’s semi-topless Vanity Fair scandal that, more than ever, they want to make Selena an even bigger star.
“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

I don’t think Selena could be bigger star than Miley. Miley’s not only a superstar in USA, also in France ! I live there, and she’s really famous too… But nobody know Selena. Also, I think Miley is more charismatic…

Bottom line. There is enough room for both of them in Hollywood but I think that it would be an huge mission to try and upstage Miley because Miley’s fans are so loyal to her. I would not stop being a huge Miley fan for anything. To the Miley Fans, Miley holds a special place in all our hearts and I don’t think that can be replaced.

In my opinion Disney is trotting Selena out to make Miley tow the line. She (Selena) has been with Disney for years now and the big push is to show Miley if she doesn’t behave she will be replaced.

okay personally i like miley wayyyyyyy better. shes had a lot of rough times lately but that vanity fair IS NOT HER FREAKING FAULT! if anythin blame the photographer i mean miley kinda had no choice but to go along with it. she couldve stood up and sed okay thats enough, but if you were a teen celebrity would you, i probly wouldnt cuz i wouldve trusted the photographer. i honestly am not a huge selena fan. shes a pretty girl and i like her show but ive heard shes rude to her fans, but that might not be true she may be nice. but idk some ppl jst dont like miley and jst dont like selena
