Well, Giselle was brought up in conversation when people were trying to compare her career to Miranda’s. I didn’t bring her up, I was just pointing out the fact that Giselle didn’t get where she is overnight, or without help.

There are no pretentious fashion snobs at a VS show. That show is more of a party, than a true show, anyway. There is nothing pretentious about it. It’s like comparing a rock concert with the symphony. They are both music, and you know that you really should enjoy the classics, but I would pick the rock concert any day, because you know that it will be more fun. The VS show is fun, the gala would be fun if you’re the type of person who would condemn another for wearing last year’s Manolos. THAT is a fashion snob. Comparing the gala to anything related to VS is just silly. Apples and oranges.

I vote to leave this tread and go back to the one just about Orlando and the motorbikes. I hate giving this famew0re any attention. In the pictures at the airport if they could only snap a picture with one of the in the frame, it is always Orlando. That pretty much says who they deem the most important celebrity. So back I go. Too many Miranda shippers here, that have no idea about reality.

We know of two men whom he’s often seen with, one blond and one dark haired. We assume those are two of his best friends. Cher, his stylist, whom he supposedly met through Kate, is another friend. Then there’s Sebastian, his cousin. I guess these are the people whom he considers his best friends. Yes, it would appear that he has maintained contact with them and goes out with them. They seem to be the only people, aside from Aleen and Robin Baum, whom he allows into his inner circle.

The rest are celebrities. Why else would he go to trendy clubs, where other celebrities and important people hang out? Natch, the paps will be at those clubs to get celebrity shots. It’s a circle that Orlando is a part of. I think he chooses to be a part of it, and networking has nothing to do with clubbing and hitting the trendy night spots of L.A.

Sometimes, he’s with “these old friends,” and sometimes he’s rubbing shoulders with the likes of Leo Dicaprio at Villa. I think he likes to be seen with ‘important’ people. And I don’t call that networking. I call it getting publicity by being seen with the ‘right’ people in the ‘right’ places.

Well, I haven’t counted how many times he’s been caught at clubs. We only know of the *publicized* times, such as clubbing in mid August 2006, and again after he broke up with Kate (club Hyde with Penelope Cruz and his manager and Penny’s sister), and sporadically at trendy restaurants (Il Sole, Nobu, Koi, etc) having drinks or dinner with his manager or alone. The point here is that Orlando knowingly goes to clubs and trendy places where he’s likely to see and be seen, and papped. His friends and “mystery brunette” manager may or may not be at his side. I don’t doubt his two male friends are very important to him. I also don’t doubt that making genuine friends in his industry is very difficult. He may keep most people at a distance - but I still think he uses them when he needs to, and vice versa.

“He does mingle at parties attended by the elite in his business, and that is important for networking. You have to have good contacts in this business.”

Orlando has been in this business since 1998 or 1999. He was considered an A-lister at one point. Don’t you think he’s made all the best and most important contacts he can and will make by now, at this point? He’s not a young unknown anymore. He’s been around and has worked in enough films and has become enough of an international celebrity and movie star that networking is not necessary anymore. PEOPLE KNOW WHO HE IS AND THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK.

If he thinks rubbing shoulders with the industry elite is going to help or save his career, or give him the roles that are going to other actors of a similar type and physical build, I think he’s mistaken. He’ll get his face and name in the tabloids while out clubbing and going to trendy restaurants, but that won’t make him a better actor, nor will it get producers or directors to hire him. Becoming a better actor and proving he can deliver at the box office is more important. Elijah Wood and Viggo Mortensen don’t do industry events, yet they continue to work and are respected in the industry and by the film going public.

No, that’s not the point I was making. McDonald’s won’t have Leo Dicaprio, Penny Cruz, Kirsten Dunst, etc., for him to rub shoulders with, nor will paps be there to take his picture (unless they get tipped off). I just think Orlando likes being associated with the elite in the industry, and I think he’s very starstruck himself, personally. I think he’d turn down a great role in a British TV show because it’s not a MOVIE, and I think he and his people have boxed him into a corner professionally that he’s going to have one heck of a time getting out of. As for the “Quincenera”, I actually can visualize Orlando attending if a celebrity cause were involved.

Orlando used to say that “it’s all about the work and not the fame.” I don’t buy that line anymore. I think he links himself to the people who will help him get what he wants and needs. They in turn use him. So, I think the usage is fair, after all is said and done.

I also don’t think Orlando wants to quietly live in England and live a low key lifestyle with a non-famous English woman. I think he wants and needs attention, like a junkie who needs a fix. I also think some of his fans are part of that cycle; they need their Orlando fix, too.

He looks like he’d rather be drinking sake somewhere else.

I hope Boz and her bf do show up cos I like seeing James. At first I didn’t think he was all that hot. But, the last few piccies I’ve seen of him he looked great!

She’s still running her mouth on the radio now. She makes out like Orlando pursued her. She says she wouldn’t give him her number because she was with someone else so he called her agent and got her number and said they could just be friends. I think this is proof that he is an idiot with awful taste in women.
