I mean interesting….the blue shoes with the red dress

i was curious to see what she would wear tonight and its kind of a neat look. i think she took a risk with the blue shoes. i thought something gold and strappy would look sexy but blue pumps? her make up is interesting too….but i guess that’s what the institute costume gala is about, risk taking and fashion that’s not so main stream and boring.

Can someone explain to me why you would wear blue shoes with a red/watermelon colored dress? Why not wear gold shoes that would match your jewelry if you can’t find shoes to match the dress color?

some people here have poor taste. Katie looks like a clown in that dress and those shoes. The woman just has no sense of style and tries too hard. She looks more a transvestite here than a woman. TC looks like crap. What with velvet? On him it looks so gay. Armani is an old man and look a thousand times more distinguished and elegant than TC. Even the gay duo Dolce & Gabbana look less gay and more refined than TC. Bottom line, he is trying to hard to dodge the label gay that it actually shows. These two make a perfect pair I guess.

I think Tom is finally realizing what he has done. People just don’t like her period. He should have given it alot more time. He needs to learn to wait for the right woman instead of always moving so fast. Everyone wants to be in love and have someone but slow down Tom. First thing to do is get rid of Katie, FAST!!!! I think if he made this change he could start reviving his career and image. I’ll bet he looked at all the beautiful, sophisticated, talented women there and was embarrassed because he settled for her.

TC is talentless aging actor who got lucky by carefully choosing movies that would ensure commercial success; an a**hole of a man who sneakily divorced his wife to safeguard his money. KH is even less talented; her Batman’s acting was a beyond lame. You get real honey because all they care about is more money in their bank to bankroll their lifestyle, church, not you.

It used to be that whey they were photographed together he would hold her possessively and stare at her with this love sick look on his face. He is still holding her but he is hamming it up for the camera. She used to look shy and demure and stand back a bit, in other words, lack self esteem. She is now coming into her own and is now taking on that “attitude” look, so posed and unnatural. Is she happy or is this all getting to her?

Wow! Probably the most beautifully outfitted lady of the night. It is not so much about the dress as it is about combination of her make up, hair, dress, and necklace. Nicely done! She has never looked better.

OK, I’m going to go out on a limb here and defend Katie because of her age. She is pretty young and she will have some hits and misses in fashion as she matures from the jeans, sweaters and Nikes. She is probably getting fashion tips from everyone from Posh to Tom and everyone else in between. What they want for her and what looks good for her may be two different things. Who knows what HER fashion is? She looks like a Stepford wife.

Her eye make up is reddish to purple looking. It looks like she has bruises. I think she is pretty and the outlandish make up added nothing positive to her looks.

Tom Cruise, clad in Armani, could save/distract from most fashion atrocities but not Katie Holmes‘ horrible red gown, which looks like red shrunk-to-fit plastic bags. I like the idea of her contrasting shoes in theory but it’s all too much. She has though, unlike the rest of Hollywood, somehow manage to get an inverse bobblehead thing going on. The tan is overdone..the red is hideous to look at and the shoes are worse..she issimply trying to start a trend and look different..they consistently WANT to stand out and BE noticed for thier lovey dovey act or Katies bad posture in outrageous tranny heels..

Costume Gala or not, tacky should be said tacky. And Katie’s make-up is as tacky as her dress and shoes. I suppose she was trying to be Wonder Cinderella with that style and color of the dress and her blue shoes. I’ve never found J. Robert appealing, yet she looked very elegant there. So ‘costume’ is a poor excuse for poor sense of style.

And Katie = Audrey Hepburn? What a wonderful joke!

If I were Armani, I’d ask TC not to publish his name as the designer of the suit. TC just doesn’t look good. Never found him appealing either, neither in acting nor look.

mia, Can’t for the life of me understand this outfit OR the shoes. Is it red/orange or what?? I think if she had worn flat shoes it would have probably been well not ok but not as bad. A ball room length gown needs to touch the floor no matter what shoes you have on. Those gold shoes she wore a while back would have been better here. Wish she would just go back to a more casual dressing her own age look. I think she is a pretty girl but this whole look with the makeup and hair just doesn’t quite get there.
