Tom Hanks for Barack Obama
Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks is publicly endorsing presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
“I’m Tom Hanks and I want Barack Obama to be the next president of our country,” he said in his short video titled, “Beware: Celebrity Endorsement.”
Continuing, Hanks said, “I want Barack Obama to be president of this country, a country that once said that people of his skin color were only 3/5 of a human being. My support for Obama isn’t just about breaking boundaries, it’s because of his character and vision.”
“As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made your mind up for you,” the 51-year-old actor quipped.

Jaysus Postwatcher. Don’t **** yourself. You don’t even realize what being patriotic is. Its not about only glorifying your country to the point where you no longer sound coherent or level-headed. It is more about being a friend to your country in the sense that you ask questions, you analyze, and you criticize if need be. I was airing my opinions and it stands. But clearly, the American Middle-East policy, whatever that may be, has been lead by a bunch of ignorant old men who haven’t a clue about the dynamics of the culture and the types of people that inhabit Iraq. Had they at least had some type of understanding at all about what they could get themselves into, America would not be in the quagmire it is in today. Even Bush admitted to mistakes in their execution. Whatever.
” If the US is so bad, why have all you Europeans decided to come here? ”
This question might be more relevant if you has asked this 50 years ago! Get a clue.
Sheryl, I don’t watch Oprah and by the way you sound, I think my words would just fly right over your head. Get some perspective on the world.
Back to mindless gossip…
Halli,
Your words (nor your bad grammer) can go over my head. Or anyone else that has even a modicum of education.
Also how funny you are that you tell others to get perspective on the world and all you do is call people names and spout off crass euphemisms about the candidates.
Your intellectual laziness is unbecoming and no “non-American” I know would be proud to have you speak for them.
I fail to understand how some of these comments about people from Europe coming to the US are the first immigrants. North America’s original peoples were the american indians. Everyone else came here from elsewhere, everyone.
I am not american,I am from middle east…and this election has no relation to me ….I can not vote for this, that is not my country. But I know the USA wants to play a role in the world so this country shoud have a president with an international view.A person who does not just think about his own or his countri’s profits .I know that is the most important job for a president to think about his countri’s profits but this is not the only job!we are all human… when you go to other countries(iraq and…) and you start a war and when you want to give them freedom as you claim…I mean if it is for humanity and if you have some great ideas for peace you should think internationally and I think obama has this kind of view and he is suitable for being the president …
I always loved Tom Hanks and now after watching this video I admire him and admire myself that I loved him always….He has a deep view ….
Americans must note vote for a man based on his color. To vote for OBAMA because he is Black is RACIST.If you want to have a decent home to retire in make sure you vote for the right man. Look at Obamas grandmothers conditions - the poverty she lives in and he never tried to help her … What is really wrong with him? Does America know this African son?
Firstly congradulations Mc Cain for your debate win.
Obama should have seen to his grandmothers poverty first (years ago) before he tried to clean up Americas back yard.
Why is his grandmother still living in such abject poverty if Obama is the hero he makes out to be?
It would have taken just a few of his American dollars to help her build a better shack
