Nicole Richie opens up in the June 2008 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, out May 20. Here are some of the interview highlights:
On putting Harlow on the cover of People Magazine: “The day before it came out, I was nervous, because there was going to be a picture of my daughter everywhere. But if I didn’t put a picture out, it would have been 10 times worse. I wanted to stop people trying to get pictures of her. I was just being a protective mom.”
On her celebrity BFFs: “I feel like my group of five to ten friends, they really love [Harlow], like she’s theirs … my friends never go outside for smoke breaks anymore, they don’t curse, they are definitely more demure. It’s actually been really interesting.”
On her future nuptials and having more kids: One day, yeah -not tomorrow, not today. We are committed to our family. I’m 26. I’ve definitely had a very eventful year. So right now, it’s about me enjoying my time with my daughter. I want five children: twin boys and three girls. I’ve wanted that since I was a little girl.”

I find it amusing that Nicole Ritchie is somehow the new moral compass for how to live your life. Does anyone remember that she was actually IN JAIL for the first part of her pregnancy?
Her and Joel won’t last, the kid will probably end up being a spoiled Hollywood brat addicted to drugs just like her parents.

Nicole may not really deserve her fame or attention, but her baby girl is innocent in this and I would hope we wouldn’t sit here and say, “she’ll be a brat” or “she’ll be a future drug addict”…come on, now we sit back and criticize infants?? Harlow is a beauty and I hope for her sake that Nicole stays clean, devotes her time to being a mom and raises a healthy little girl…come on people, let go of the hate for just a little while…

Beautiful baby, but I’m tired of hearing them say they aren’t ready for marriage. I feel like she when she says she is 26, it’s like she implying she’s too young to be married, but not too young for a kid??
#26 - not only was she in jail when she was pregnant. I felt like she kept pushing off her court date until she looked pregnant so the judge would be more leniant towards her.

It takes more than being a “fashionista” to be a successful mother and, hopefully, she will be a solid mother on behalf of this innocent baby.
All of the “out-of-wedlock” babies concern me as it is too easy for either the mother or father to walk from a non-binding relationship when the glamour wears off but the commitment needs to deepen.

what’s this going to be now, another hollywood **** that uses her kids to stay in the tabloids then once that stops they get mad when they continue to photograph the kids? I love Nicole and Joel as a couple! They are so sweet and seem to be really committed to each other and their gorgeous daughter! Harlow has to be one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen! She’s going to be stunning when she gets older.
Nicole has really changed since she started dating Joel and that is nice to see. She is proof that people can change for the better. People just need to lay off her and be glad she changed to raise this lil girl.

Beautiful pictures! I love Nicole. Everyone bashing her is right, she has made her mistakes and she hasnt done much to be famous. I lover her because she’s real, she says it like it is and doesn’t take herself too seriously. But like she said in an article a year or two ago ..”I don’t have a clue why I’m famous. I didn’t make myself famous…You’re doing it. I think people just want to say, ‘Oh, she doesn’t have a job she doesn’t do anything.’ They get off on that. But I do have a job, like everyone else.”
Out of Paris, Lindsay, Britney, etc ..she’s the only thats actually taken her life seriously after ******** up. She continues to go to her AA meetings (or whatever theyre called) unlike Paris and Lindsay who think they can skip out on everything. She’s now the only one who seems to be on the right path (besides maybe Britney) and for that I give her the respect she deserves. Everyone deserves a second chance.

It makes me laugh that people her wonder why she gets covers of magazines… it’s because people like us go out and buy magazines to see pictures of her and we come on websites like this to look and comment on her pictures!
Hell, if magazines are asking for her for interviews then why shouldn’t she?! I would! Especially a magazine like Harpers.
Oh, and her baby looks very cute
agreed with the whole, i’m glad she hasn’t been out spotted clubbing and what not like some other mothers. she seems to have really got her head on her shoulders with the mother/parenting thing and i say it’s a relief to see that someone that was once in such a negative spotlight is being so mature.
Ignoring all the negative comments; whos to say what will happen with her and joel; the important thing [i think] is how shes being to her daughter.
I personally love nicole richie I think she looks great in this photo shoot. I’m so glad that she has got herself back on her feet because of her baby and her husband. She always looks so great I LOVE HERR!! XOXOX
