Penelope Cruz Endures Broken Embraces
Penelope Cruz and director Pedro Almodovar attend the photocall for Broken Embraces in Madrid, Spain on Friday.
The movie will feature Penelope, 34, as a blond playing a would-be actress from Spain’s provinces who is pursued by an unscrupulous financier.
Cruz was the first Spanish woman to be nominated for a non-English speaking role for Best Actress at the Oscars in 2007. She starred in Almodovar’s last film, Volver (The Return), in which she played a woman who killed her abusive husband.
“I’m not sure that the film is going to be good, but for me the important thing is to be excited by it.”, said Almodovar.
Where’s the confidence Pedro?

It’s strange…Sometimes I find her extremely beautiful and sexy, but sometimes, like in this set of pics, she just seems ordinary.

You’re wrong about about the synopsis on Volver, SPOILER - her daughter kills her dad (after he comes on to her). She then finds out that it wasn’t her dad and Cruz covers up for her.

Volver is a great movie, and shows what a terrific actress Penelope Cruz is. She is so beautiful.
I rented another Pedro Almodovar movie that she stars in, All About My Mother, where she plays a nun. Almodovar makes movies with deep, layered roles for women, and she excels when she gets to play something more than the girlfriend, or the pretty girl that the lead guy is trying to impress, like in the American movies she’s been in.
Its might intresting the choice of roles by Nicole in Stepford. wives and then Penelope with an abusive husband role …somethign tells me Cruise is an inspiration for these roles..ahahhah

She is gorgeous. Can’t wait for her next movie. I saw her hot pics on a millioniare dating site called [R i c h k i s s. c o m]. Was it her? I’m not sure. Charlie sheen said he found great dates there before. Maybe the celebs like that special site.

Penelope is a very pretty lady
I’ve seen all of Almodovar’s movies except one (All about my mother) He makes great movies and Cruz has been in several. Good actress. Glad someone corrected the plot of Volver. Her mother in the film killed her father and his mistress and then disappeared. She “returned” and pretended to be a ghost but was really still living and hiding in her sister’s house. Also as was said above, Cruz’s daughter killed her father and they froze his body in a restaurant freezer.
