OlderSelena Gomez Joins Hollywood Records?
Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez may be following in the musical footsteps of fellow tween Disney star Miley Cyrus.
Hollywood Records, Miley’s music label, is reportedly out to sign Selena to a record deal.
“Hollywood Records really wants Selena,” a source reveals. “Nothing’s signed yet, but they’re going after her in a strong way.”
As reported earlier this week, the ratings for this past Sunday’s new Hannah Montana episode were down 24% from the previous fresh episode, which aired less than two months earlier, and down 33% from the first original show of the year in January, suggesting the show was on the decline before Miley’s Vanity Fair photo scandal.
Miley currently has a four-album deal with Hollywood Records. Her sophomore CD, Breakout, is set for a summer release.

the reason ratings were down for hannah montana last weekend is because disney advertised the new episode wayyyy less than they have in the past. i usually see a commercial for a new episode of hannah montana at least 50 times in the weeks before it airs, but for the newest episode, i only saw the promotion once. plus the new episode was up online before they aired it on tv, so why would people watch it on tv if they’re already seen it online?
and realistically, NO ONE can replace miley cyrus. i mean, she’s miley cyrus for god’s sake. she has her own character, her own energy, her own everything. she can’t be just pushed to the side at this point, she’s too famous. while i really do like selena gomez and demi lovato, and i think they are so adorable and talented, they still can’t live up to what miley cyrus has to offer. so the disney franchise can try all they like to “replace” miley cyrus. but they’re still stuck with her for two more albums [including the one out this july] and after that she’ll easily be famous outside of disney, whereas people who don’t associate themselves with the disney franchise have no idea who selena gomez & demi lovato are.

I love both Selena and Miley but I don’t think Selena is next Miley Cyrus. I think Demi Lovato will be bigger than Selena and idk but maybe bigger than Miley (if that’s possible).
I see Selena as an actress no singer. But if she really wants to do this it’s her desicion :)

I hope Selena becomes a bigger star, I think she really deserves it. I think her voice is just as good as Miley’s. Miley really can’t sing live to be honest, m ost of it is a back track. I heard her on the Teen Choice Awards and it was awful. She needs to be trained to sing and dance AT THE SAME time so she doesn’t sound so out of breath. I don’t think Selena will be the new Miley but I’m seriously hoping Disney promotes her more. We need a for real Latina out there instead of a cheap knock off aka Vanessa Hudgens. SELENA FTW.
I really hate her, I don’t know why, but since the first moment I saw her, It was like “I can’t see her anymore”, she first try to be like Vanessa, with the photos, and now like Miley, I can’t believe it, She try so hard, and she CAN’T DO ANYTHING, her acting is terrible, and she CAN’T SING, I can’t believe that Hollywood Records wants her, It’s terrible, they have Miley, V and a lot of more fanstastic singers, wh do they want to ruin their company? To All Miley Fans & Selena Fans,
Please do not fall for the Miley vs Selena crap…the gossip websites & gossip magazine publishers just want to fuel another female celeb fight and war between Miley Fans vs. Selena Fans. I know that both of these two young stars are very much lovable friends. They did that with Hilary and Lindsay, and Vanessa and Ashley. You could see that both Hilary and Lindsay have mutual respect for each other. And you know that Vanessa and Ashley are the best of friends ever and more like soulmate sisters. I know that Miley and Selena are the same way with each other. Please just support both or one of them; and if you are not a fan to both or one of them, don’t put them down or bash them.
