Valentina Pinault: Happy Mother’s Day!
Salma Hayek and daughter Valentina Pinault, 8 months, catch a departing flight at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Friday.
Salma, 41, will be at Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art on Monday to christen Puma’s racing yacht at a VIP dinner. She will be named Puma’s godmother for the company’s new boat and its ocean racing team.
FYI: Salma’s fiance, Francois-Henri Pinault, is CEO of the French luxury goods and fashion conglomerate PPR, which is Puma’s parent company.

You people are to kind, the baby is just allright. She looks very Mexican! #21 is right alot of Mexicans were dissapointed that Valentina didn’t have blue eyes and fairer skin. I read alot of blogs prior to Salma giving birth were her fans were hoping for a white baby.Alot of fans were dissapointed because the baby looked too mex. That to me is so sad because Mexican woman are georgeous, regardless of their height and color. They should embrace their culture. I read an article were they said if Salma were to try to be an actress now in Mexico that they would never hire her because of her skin color and height, they favor more the European look, and all the actors in novelas have to be tall and white, alot of them die their hair blond.

It is so sad. In fact Valentina looks Mexican with some Afro features. She is a cute baby.
Mexicans are very racist and the darker you are - the harder your life will be.
Even a couple of years ago, there was a big scandal where the postal service of Mexico issued stamps with BLACK FACES. It was disgusting!
What a lot of people don’t know is that in Mexico there were hundreds of thousands of Africans. Obviously many have blended into society. And the people who happen to look very dark and even with Indian features tend to be treated like garbage.

As a MEXICAN who actually grew up in MEXICO..I can tell you that #31 is an idiot.
One of the reasons Salma became big in Mexico was BECAUSE of her traditional Mexican beauty: dark eyes, hair, strong brow, curvy shape. If you watch TV or look at who the celebrities are in Mexico, you will find that a great majority of them are actually dark skinned, dark-eyed. Of course, there are also white-looking people, but that’s because Mexicans are all over the range: from the very light skinned with color eyes, light skinned with dark eyes, to the very dark skinned. In my family alone we have redheads with freckles, and very dark-skinned, dark eyed people.
Nobody was sad because Valentina looks Mexican. I think it’s why she, like her mother, its so beautiful.
Baby is cute but I wouldn’t say she’s georgeous.
