Jenna’s twin sister, Barbara, stood as Maid of Honor while Henry’s brother, John, stood as Best Man.
“This Mother’s Day weekend was awfully special for [my wife] Laura and me,” Bush said at an airport in Waco where he boarded Air Force One to return to Washington. “We’re mighty blessed.”
Bush even described the outdoor sunset wedding as “spectacular,” referred to his daughter as “our little girl Jenna” and called his new son-in-law a “really good guy.”
Also pictured below: Rev. Kirbyjohn Caldwell of the Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston and parents of the groom, John and Maggie Hager. (John Hager is the chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, a former lietenant governor of Virginia, and served in President Bush’s Education Department.)

Whatever her dad’s foolish mistakes are, her decision to have a simple, family centered wedding has to be admired.
I cringe to say anything nice about the bushies but… she looks really beautiful, very classy. At least she has taste, not wearing some garish wedding dress that so many tacky people wear.
And I guess I can’t blame her for her father (or grandfather). Either way, the dress, the hair, the semi-casual choice… all wonderful.

As he walked his beautiful daughter down the aisle, I hope President Bush spared a thought for all the young men who will never have that pleasure because they were sent to their deaths in a war that was started on the basis of his lies.

I think she looks so beautiful … the dress is simple - but extremely elegant and pretty. And her new husband is so handsome. Laura Bush looks really pretty, too … love her blue dress. Jenna and Henry look so in love ~ may they be just as happy every day of their lives as they are on this beautiful wedding day. I love the gorgeous stone cross, too. May God bless them.
I don’t like G.W.Bush too much, but I have to give his daughter credit for the beautiful and simple wedding. If I had a wedding, I’d have one like this. I love her dress and her hair, and how their happiness looks honest rather than painted on like many other weddings. The colour scheme is really nice. Two thumbs up guys!

I can not understand the vile comments of some people. I wonder how they looked at their wedding. The Bushes are a wonderful family with values. All these negative commentators don’t seem to have any.
Jenna looks absolutely stunning and thank God her style is down to earth and not the overdone excentrics of the Kennedy’s. Have people ever heard that good old saying “less is more”.

Is he father of the bride so insecure about his patrotism that he had to wear that stupid flag thing in his wedding suit? I was taught to not wear my feelings on my sleeve, or in my lapel. It is simply poor taste.
Bad dress, Laura. And a pearl wearing mother-in-law; good luck, Jenna…re-creation of your grandmother? Just a goofy show in my opinion. She is going to teach? She didn’t even major in Education and probably doesn’t have a teaching certificate, hence the “charter” school deal. This is an insult to ALL of America’s certified teachers.

I like the fact that she wanted a private wedding without all the hoopla and the press. They only invited 200 people and both the fathers of the bride and groom are politicians. Good for them! Very refreshing in a world full of people who always want to be the center of attention.
Gertraud, Chelsea Clinton has a wonderful job requiring enormous intelligence. Get informed. She is entitled to a leave of absence to do anything she pleases. Jenna has not worked in at least a year, if not longer. Exactly what does being a liberal have to do with a teaching certificate? It is simply a government requirement that teachers in all the states’ public schools have one. I didn’t make that rule. Have you been to a charter hospital lately where the doctors are not required to be licensed to practice? A charter dentist? A charter stock broker? An untrained electrician or plumber? What do you do all day? Read blogs?
Anne, I can tell you what I do. I am running a business with my husband which means giving jobs to 40 people, feeding and insuring their families and I do not associate with people like you. I doubt that you employ 40 people and legally to boot. You are just another bureaucrat and can save your writing about giving me lessons concerning work ethics. God help us all, now I put my flag pin on, because I think you are the all day blog reader. I have never done this before because my time is too valuable, but sometimes an “I do know it all person” like you needs to be told about the real working world. I was not born in this country, but I speak and write in several languages and I am immensely proud to be an AMERICAN.
