Zanessa Celebrates Mother’s Day
High School sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens share a laugh together as they watch the showdown between the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers in Game Four of the Western Conference Semifinals during the 2008 NBA Playoffs at EnergySolutions Arena on Sunday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ashley Tisdale (pictured below) was also present at the game.
Earlier in the day, Zanessa celebrated Mother’s Day with a brunch at a restaurant in Utah. Present at the brunch was Tizz, her parents, Vanessa’s mother, Gina, and V’s little sister, Stella. New High School Musical castmate Matt Prokop was also there.

I shouldn’t even dignify your comment with a response but I do not appreciate being called an idiot for expressing my opinion. I did nothing of the sort to any of you and I would appreciate the same respect being extended to me.
You’re right in that we don’t know what is going on, but along that same line, we don’t know what is real and what is being done as publicity to keep HSM and the Troy/Gabriella romance in the spotlight to generate buzz for the movie. I’m not saying that Zac and V aren’t in a relationship…once again we don’t truly know the extent of their feelings for each other or what goes on when the cameras are off. I’m saying that we need to realize that Disney is a powerful company that may have more control over the Zac/Vanessa relationship than what some people would like to think. Plain and simple, Disney is after $$$ and Zanessa and pictures of them, etc. is a huge moneymaker.

thank you, greatly appreciated :-) yes, the haters are moronic; which is why most logical people are fans. well, besides most adults, since HSM isn’t really their thing. though, i’m starting to think otherwise. i’ve noticed a lot of the big posters here are adults. it’s happy to see people older than us (i’m assuming you’re not an adult, correct me if i’m wrong.) appreciate their talent, which they have. it’s always nice to see an older person idolize the same person/people you do. so I always welcome them. majority of the haters are adults who don’t like HSM & have nothing better to do.
yes, we got a SPECTACULAR zanessa sighting, which was, yes, a wonderful mother’s day present. continue loving zanessa, & all we be well (LOL)

Zac has made professional decisions that show he does not depend to Disney. First, he turned down a record contract after HSM1 because he does not consider himself a singer and wants to be an actor. Second, he opted out of the HSM tour and was completely unavailable while he worked on Hairspray. Third, he did not perform at the Holiday parade at Disneyland this past November. He (and Lucas) have established independence from the Disney machine.
Sarah, I gotta agree with you. Unless they break the HSM typecast they will always be known as ‘those people from HSM’. I think Zac already started to break it with Hairspray and will only continue to do so with 17 Again and Me and Orson Welles. It remains to be seen how the other cast members will overcome that typecast.

i don’t know who exactly you were directing to, but I’m guessing it was me. So here.
When I see something w/ zac on/in it I think “Zac Efron”. & when I saw Vanessa’s CD in stores I thought “Vanessa Hudgens”, which I will think again when I see her sophomore albums in stores. Not that guy or girl from HSM, as you’ve stated. I don’t give any credit of their talent & charisma to HSM, & I don’t think any one should. HSM didn’t make them, it discovered them. HSM didn’t teach them to act, sing, or dance. When will you get that into your head??
Why is your “opinion” ridiculous? Let’s start on how you supposedly stated a fact not an opinion. Writing their careers will end after HSM 3, is a statement not an opinion. Writing “it is true” just supports my point. Who are you to say their careers will end after HSM 3? Do you honestly think we are never going to see any of the cast again after HSM 3? & if you haven’t realised it yet, HSM 3 is going to make them even MORE popular, not less. #106 & #111 Nobody is denying that Zac and Vanessa’s popularity stems fromthe “High School Musical” francise, of course it does but what all we’re saying is we like them beyond that that’s all.
Where you run into trouble is make comments like “HSM” will be over in October then what do they have? Well as previously stated Zac has “17 Again” and “Me and Orson Welles”. Vanessa has her album coming out a summer tour, and “Will” *now called “Rock On* waiting in the wings. They have OTHER projects yes only time will tell if these projects are successful but the point remains they have other things going on.
And yes only time will tell if they can move on from the “HSM” typecast but it seems like at least one of you (Sara) has determined they cannot. Again we’ll see.
But if you state your opinon as “truth” and tell us if we can’t “see it” that’s our problem. Don’t expect us to take that lying down.
Anyhoo, it’s nice to see these two kids looking relaxed and enjoying themselves.
Poor Zac and vanessa can’t go out on a normal date without people claiming they are putting on an act for Disney and HSM publicity.
What, do they have eyes in the back of their head that allows them to see the camera behind them that caught their kiss?
If Zac and Vanessa are going out just for the sake of Disney and the HSM franchise, I highly doubt Disney would let almost 3 months go by without pictures of them together. That hardly benefits their whole scheme don’t you think?
And yes zac and vanessa were on 2 different continents, but if you believe that disney can make them be together, then I am sure the all powerful house of mouse could make sure they were seen together at some point.
The only couples that disney can control are the ones on screen, off screen couples are off limits to them.

Sarah, you have a right to your opinion as you must know because you express it (with nearly the same words) on every zanessa post. Then you want to call other people obsessed. We all know they came to popularity from HSM, it doesn’t necessarily follow that they will lose it when HSM ends. Only time will tell. And I predict you will still be around either way posting.

See, I differ with you in opinion on that narf. I don’t think off screen couples are off limits to them. Now I’m not saying with 100% certainty that Zac and Vanessa are a publicity stunt but I’m not totally discounting it either. I guess I don’t see why people have such a hard time believing that there is a possibility that a couple could be together for publicity reasons. Hollywood is a powerful place with a certain image to portray. It’s happened before and I have no doubt it will happen again.
But, if Zac is happy with his life at the moment, then as a fan of his I say more power to him.
