Real World: Brooklyn Edition!
Production will move from the west coast to the east as the 21st season of The Real World will be filmed in Brooklyn, MTV announced today.
“The Brooklyn season, like the Hollywood season, will focus on what people loved about The Real World when it launched in 1992 - genuine people, meaningful conflict and powerful stories,” said Jon Murray, The Real World Co-Creator and Chairman & President of Bunim-Murray Productions. “We’re thrilled that MTV is allowing The Real World turn 21!”
The Real World: Brooklyn begins shooting this summer and will broadcast 13 one-hour episodes in early 2009. YES, HOUR-LONG EPS!

Carrol Gardens is such a lame place and does not represent brooklyn at least the real brooklyn at all!

they should bring it to williamsburg/greenoint and just trick out some loft apt….yeah cause Carrol Gardens is a nice area very “homeish”

i heard cobble hill or park slope, which is where im from. woo. and i wanted to comment on the people leaving comments about them getting shot.. very ignorant. whereas some parts of brooklyn are awful, there are parts you nor your family could even come close to affording.
supposedly its gonna be in williamsburg. this is gonna be a joke. some guy on the street is gonna yell out to one of the girls “yo mami” and since theyre mad close to one of the worser areas of brooklyn, theres gonna be this whole drama like “omg i cant live here. its like so dangerous. its brooklyn, guys, like omg”
then theyre gonna go to some hipster party and be mad weirded out cuz they all live under a rock, and all the williamsburg hipsters are gonna hate them.
oh yeah!!! also…at this williamsburg party, someones gonna end up accidently dropping acid. thats possible drama as well.
First of all, “worser” is not a word.
Second of all, I personally feel they should film in a decent, nice-looking part of Brooklyn. We must realize that the country will view Brooklyn the way MTV will showcase it on the next season of The Real World. We wouldn’t want them to film in a relatively bad section and thus cause all viewers to believe that is how Brooklyn is as a whole.
i’m surprised nobody else has mentioned this, but i see myself goin out for drinks with friends at all my favorite little spots in brooklyn and having juiced up, alcoholic, immature, angry for whatever reason NON-brooklynites flying over tables, smashing drinks over peoples heads, etc. are my weekends this summer completely ruined? not to mention wherever they do end up dwelling, whether it be cg, park slope, dumbo, williamsburg, wherever! there are gonna be cops set up just about everywhere they go ready to arrest whoever decides to knock out a numb nut from arkansas. this is going to suck royally. to all my fellow brooklynites out there, try and keep your hands in your pockets and keep your anger in check no matter how many hillbillys try and ruin your night at your favorite spot…
hey on the other hand maybe they’ll get beat up so many times MTV will have to relocate!!!
