American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken chats on his Apple iPhone as he strolls along Montana Ave in Brentwood, Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Clay looked summery in his linen blazer and leather sandals as he went to have lunch with friends at Louise’s.
His latest album, On My Way Here debuted this week at #4 with 94,071 units sold this week. Clay’s previous album, A Thousand Different Ways, started at No. 2 in 2006, with the much larger sales of 211,000.
Clay has said On My Way Here represents the last five years of his life, but that he didn’t write any of the material. He said he’s “not great” at songwriting and that he’d rather “let the people who are experts in that field do what they do, and I’ll do what I do.”

I don’t like Aiken much, but I’ll give him credit for not trying to write songs just because it’s the thing to do these days. Some really great singers didn’t write any of their material. Having said that, I think he really needs better songwriters. I’ve heard the songs on his new CD, and eh…they’re just okay. There’s got to be some good pop song writers somewhere that can do something with this guy. Or, maybe he should have done another CD of covers.

Clay is absolutely gorgeous !!! I think however someone needs a fact checker ………..Clay DID write a song on this CD !! It’s called “LOVER ALL ALONE” and it is breathtaking! You might want to notice sales of anyones CD’s are low due to I tunes and digital downloading . Josh Grobins were not all that great either !

Clay looks good. The new cd has such a variety of sound, Kipper did a nice job of mixing the sound. Of course the vocals are perfect as one would expect with Clay. Actually Jaime is not related by blood. So how long till his detractors get here with their immature remarks?

The girl, Jamie is not really Clay’s cousin. They are not related at all. She is his Step-Father’s niece but that does not make them cousins. It makes her his Mother’s, husband’s niece. Aiken likes his life private so to say the gorgeous girl who is “always” with him is his cousin is probably a great way to keep things private. I read his book, “Learning to Sing” and even though he goes through his family and gives each of their names, nowhere does he mention that Jaime is his cousin.

Not sure why Clay has so many haters, but this guy has a fantastic voice, incredible charisma, a killer live show, and a fantastic new CD. With each new hairstyle I keep saying that that is the best he has ever looked, and it couldn’t possibly get any better, then he comes up with a new one and blows me away.
You may not like his look, you may not like his style of music, but the one thing you can necer deny is that he has a fantastic quality voice. Again, it may not be your cup of tea, but the man can sing.
Okay, I will admit as well, he is really hawt, if you don’t think so just try going to one of his concerts if he does tour for this CD. He has such a connection with the audience, so much more than other artists our there.
His niche may be Adult Contempary but he is more than happy to be there, he has no desire to sing the songs that represent everything that he is not. He knows his place and he will stay there.
The people that are haters are generally those that wanted someone else in his season of American Idol to win, or those that don’t appreciate his look, but usually have never gone to see him live, or have listened to his CDs more than once. Hi there. I’ll respond to you nicely cos you asked the question nicely. (unlike others) Clay did say that this story was false. Not everybody
knows what he says or does, cos, of course, not everyone visit his website and listens to his interviews. Which is normal. He did say it once, and I agree with him when he says, “”I answered your quesrion, what more do you want?”" Just like he answered once that he is NOT gay. But of course, if you did not read his Rolling Stone interview or if you didn’t watch his Diane Sawyer interview, you never knew he did answer the question. You know what bothers us (his fans) so much? It’s the people who don’t not know anything about him, and who INSIST on saying he’s gay, or he’s dating his cousin (where the heck did “”s”" ever heard that???) or other crap like that. Yes, we are over protective. I’ll give you that much. Enthusiastic as Clay says. LOL
But what the Nates (and the Kates) of this world don’t know is, how much he appreciates our love, loyalty and support. I think Clay’s so called fans have hurt him in many ways. They act like his mother, they state things about him as fact, they act like they actually know him personally. It is really sick. When Claymates are buying more than one CD, it alters the results. My guess is that if they were to only buy one each, he would have only sold about 15,000 because that is basically his fan base. When he jokes about the same people coming to all of his concerts, he knows that is the truth. He will never be anything more than what he is now. His new CD is really below average, stupid lyrics for the most part and the sales reflect that. He looks like a woman now with the blonde hair. I don’t understand why he thinks his dark hair “Tyra hair” made him look old. He looked gorgeous and now looks older. The blonde hair and make up is just too creepy. He looks totally gay now and the high voice on all of these new songs sounds like he got kicked in the balls. Not attractive at all Clay, sorry!

In regard to his declining cd sales ,unless you are you living in a cave you know that cd sales are tanking for all the labels . That isn’t a good way to judge success these days unless you believe that just about every singer is losing fans .

Thanks, Marianne. BTW, since I’m a fan, I do read the boards and watch every interview, so I am familiar with what is says. I’ve never heard the words “I’m not gay” or “I’m straight.” Everything else is just spin, as far as I’m concerned. At this point if he does say “I am straight,” I realize that no one will believe him.
I don’t care if he’s gay and if he wants to keep it to himself and friends and family and not go public with it, that’s fine. It’s his life.

My point was that I’ve heard the “he was somewhere else on Jan.2″ story so many times, but not from Clay, along with proof, so I have to discount it as a story that was made up by fans.

Clay deserves to keep his private life private. He is almost 30 years old and you can be sure he is attractive to and attracted to many. The Claymates should stop trying to build a case for his perceived sexuality. He has specifically adopted “Don’t ask, won’t tell” and they should do the same.

I like Clay’s new haircut and color. I think the guy named stevee or something like that is responsible for it. Clay has said it is close to his natural hair color. Jamie and Clay do go to a lot of places together, many that are personal, so no pics. She is a doll. I can certainly understand why Clay wouldn’t refer to her as a girlfriend. He has fans that pick any girl apart that he has ever been seen with, so he keeps it private. I think the pictures show a guy very comfortable and happy. Thank you Jared!
The CD has something for everyone, unless you are into hip hop, rap or urban music. If you like that style, please don’t rip on this CD, because you wouldn’t like it….any more than you like Clay.

Thanks Jared for posting these pictures of Clay, Quiana and Jaime. It’s to be expected that many people will not find them of interest but, to Clay’s fans, they are.
The entire nation seems to be obsessed with Clay’s latest hair color; recent Clay interviews from coast to coast have focussed primarily on his hair..most so than his CD. Tis a pity how shallow everyone is. Poor Britany doesn’t even get this interest shown in her hair color or hairstyle. Guess people are more interested in her underwear..or lack thereof.
Perhaps people should start looking at the hairstyles of people walking down the street a little more often. They’d see the exact same hairstyle as Clay Aiken’s, believe you me. Seen a picture of Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman’s husband lately? An exact replica of Clay’s style. Amazing. Goes to show, people are picking on Clay’s hair because they have to find something to complain about……and they sure can’t complain about his singing, his CD, his kindness towards others, his love for his family, his God , his dedication to UNICEF (he’s making a fourth trip on behalf of UNICEF this summer), his support of his fanbase etc.
Total CD sales are down 20% this year and the only people to blame are those who freeload and download from free sites rather than put their money where their mouth is and pay for their music. They pay nothing for their favorite artist’s music ; which artist needs fans like that???? Clay’s fans pay for every download, every disc and also buy discs for those who can’t afford to do so. They put their money out to support Clay’s hard work. No wonder he is proud of them all and he says so every chance he gets.
It’s unfortunate that the gay and lesbian community has decided to harrass and denigrate artists who are not gay simply to keep their so-called cause in the forefront. Who would ever want to be associated with a group of individuals who are so mean and vindictive and arrogant and vulgar??? They stop at nothing to drag people down into the dank mire of their minds….what a legacy they are leaving for their kids . No wonder so many kids are dysfunctional.
There are lots of other issues in the world that can use your vile responses….how about writing the junta at Myanmar. See if they care about what you have to say, either.
Clay’s new look is just that…a new look. At least, he tries to stay current and appeal to his fans. He’s almost 30 so it’s about time people stopped worrying about his sexuality, as well. He doesn’t owe anyone private details about his life, family etc. His CD is fantastic and if that suits your taste, buy it; if not, his true fans will and enjoy every minute of it.
Quiana needs to go on a diet and have a makeover. She’s in the public and she’s given up on her looks. Angela needs help too. Truthfully, Clay needs better-looking, better-dresses, sexier backup singers who don’t screech. They seem like a crutch to him. He’s comfortable with them, but he needs to look out for his career. If he’s going to keep them, they need to be in the background, as in BACKGROUND singers.

I think Clay looks pretty damn sexy!!! I have seen many singers who are not as good looking as Clay and they never get picked on. I think people just like to pick on him to be mean. He has a big heart and he is a good person. Who cares what he looks like.

Connie Weaver, the reason people post negative things about Clay is not so much that they don’t like Clay. The problem is with Claymates. You act like he’s the best thing on this earth, which I have no problem with, but why do you have to attack people who don’t agree? Why do you have to send nasty e-mails to anyone who says something simple, like they don’t like his hair? Why go on the attack all the time? If you like him, fine, enjoy him and don’t attack anyone who doesn’t. Because of the Claymates, Clay has lost many normal fans. He is drop dead handsome, but I am not a fan of the blond hair or the style. Everything else is just gorgeous, and his voice is stupendous.
Just bought that cd, and every single song is beautifully done. The upbeat ones are terrific, and his voice is so strong on them. His Lover All Alone is excellent, but really wrenching, as is The Real Me.
If he had radio play, his cd would go platinum in a heartbeat. Can’t believe how well he does without it. Talent prevails.

Uh, Connie, I am a fan of Clay’s, just not a fan of the rabid Claymates. I’m here for the same reason the rest of you are, to see his photos, which, I might add, are extremely nice. If you notice, I haven’t said anything bad about Clay on here. When the Jamie nonsense starts, or the Tyra nonsense, or the Jenny nonsense, or the sweater girl nonsense, on and on, it’s really sickening.
Gaaaahhh…He is so HAWT I can’t take my eyes off him. I think I’ve looked at those pictures of him a million times…but he’s so worth it. What a Star. He doesn’t even have to try and he is the sexiest man on earth. He’s got it all and what a personality. He also has a foundation that helps children with Autism and he is an Ambassador for Unicef.

What a cutie!!!!!!!! So Yummy! And Jamie might be more than a relative. She’s not blood - but a cousin through his step-father. I think they make an adorable couple. She’s always with him.
I happen to love the hair, it has grown on me, I am always entranced by his eyes (green as the finest emeralds). His voice is perfection and this CD is just so amazingly good.
I am most impressed with his HONESTY, KINDNESS, LOVE, CARING, and most importantly his abililty to make everyone feel like his best friend if even just for a second, He is a gift from God and is destined flor greatness (for mankind) beyond our wildest dreams.
