Ellen DeGeneres has announced on her talk show that she plans to wed Portia de Rossi now that the California Supreme Court has ruled in favor of gay marriages.
Portia, 35, was in the studio at the time, and Ellen, 50, were applauded by audience members after the announcement was made on Thursday.
Ellen previously had a high-profile relationship with actress Anne Heche. In 1997, Ellen appeared on the cover of Time Magazine entitled, “Yep, I’m Gay”
The taped episode of Ellen making the announcement is said to air today, Friday.

F**K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! homophobics
Congratulations to Ellen and Portia!!
Are you kidding me !!! don’t Ellen and Portia need lollipop
Tesky: The only worms are in your mind. If you are unable to descern, let other people to think. Those comparisons you made are just scare tactics that only works with illiterates. Or the ones who only can read black books. Barely.
Congratulations Ellen and everyone else in the gay community who are now free to marry. This is a beautiful day in America… notwithstanding the ignorant fools who are crying foul.
Tesky:
CONSENT.. that is the key word. As long as two (or even more) adults consent to be in a committed relationship they have a constitutional right to be in such a relationship. Minors cannot give consent because they are too young to come to a good decision about their lives… so there you have it. Nothing more to fear Teski , than your own homophobia…
Actually, I am for this resolution. I just know legally, it does open some interesting debates. I get the minor thing. But polygamists now have a ground for legalizing their marriages. What is the valid argument against polygamy? As with all laws, this resolution opens up the avenue for rights for other people like the ruling allowing interracial marriages led to this resolution. Many experts wonder how polygamists will fare in the court system after this ruling. And what is the problem with polygamy anyway?
all gays are going to hell!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely rediculous and gross. I will never watch her show, really did not much to begin with. I hope California washes away along with all the ******. This is a sad day!
this is a big time YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKY
ok for all u pll who thinking ewww those gay ppl r disgusting, have u ever heard of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness? if gay ppl want to marry each other and there happy LET THEM, geez gays r still humansso treat them like that. anyways congrats ellen and portia!!

That is AWESOME!! the first thing I thought when I read the article about the good news on gay marrige was Ellen!
I’m soo happy for her and Portia, they looks beautiful together and I hope they are super happy forever!
I have four questions for you people who support all this.
1. What do you mean by the idea that this is a “right”?
2. How do you know (that what you just said) is right?
3. What difference does this make in your life?
4. What if you are wrong and you die?
#21 They overturned a vote that was conducted 8 years ago, if history has taught us nothing, it’s that society evolves and things change, what was wrong decades ago is not wrong now and vice versa. And as the governer of San Francisco said, it is the job of the state supreme court to protect the minority when the majority is making the wrong decision. Once upon a time the majority believed interracial marriage was wrong…once the majority believed women shouldn’t vote…once the majority believed that slavery was OK! at some point, someone needs to fight against the majority and set things right…
taylor
#1: We are human beings just like everyone else, we have the RIGHT to marry
#2: Because marriage is a legally binding institution and not governed by any particular religion or religious belief and everyone has the right to take part in it
#3: I’m gay, I want to be treated like everyone else
#4: That’s my problem, not yours, so let me live my life. If its a mistake, its mine, not yours
now why don’t you answer those questions yourself.
not allowing gay’s the same basic rights as any other U.S citizen is unconstitutional. all people are created equal. not allowing them to marry is the same as not allowing interracial couples to marry. we all know the later is wrong, well so is the former. this is a basic issue of human rights. and i have never been more proud to be a californian!!
I can’t believe I’m commenting this!!!Ellen is A GAY??!!!!Ewww….I hate gays….
Who the hell is Portia de Rossi kidding?
She’s not 35!!! she’s not a day younger than 40!
I find that every one is entitled to their opinion. I hope that these girls have an excellent future and life. They deserve the same opportunity as every one else, no matter what their life is behind closed doors. A person should treat people according to what they.
Congrats to them both, its about time. Regards from Australia.

Why don’t you answer those questions on your own. Especially the fourth question. Think how god would receive you after you have been nasty to a group of his children….

I wonder if in two years we’ll hear/read in the news that they are splitting up and Ellen DeGeneres is going to date Robin Williams. And wasn’t Portia de Rossi once married - to a man? So maybe she’ll start dating a man, too.
I am only kidding.
Congratulations to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
But this is my favorite story about this story….
——————————————————————————————–
This just in: DeGeneres was just kidding.
After the California Supreme Court ruled that it is constitutional for gay people to marry, several celebrity couples announced plans to wed, including George Takei (Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek”) and his partner, Brad Altman, and DeGeneres and her partner, de Rossi.
DeGeneres even quipped that she and de Rossi were registered at Crate & Barrel.
But it seems some fans didn’t see the “insert laugh here” card. A con man took almost no time setting up a Crate & Barrel account in DeGeneres’ name, and fans quickly began sending gifts to the account.
DeGeneres had to stand up and say she was just engaging in a bit of stand-up.
“I was joking when I released a statement saying we registered at Crate & Barrel,” she told World Entertainment News Network. “Some scam artist tried to take advantage of that. . . .”
DeGeneres has to be asking herself which is worse: The creep who duped her fans or those straight-faced fans who don’t even know a joke when they hear one.
So, to repeat: Ellen and Portia are not registered at Crate & Barrel.
They’re at Target.
cong. I believe everyone should be happy. This is a FREE COUNTRY, or is suppose to be .I wish you both all the happiness in the world.
