OlderDesperate Housewives Season Finale Shocker!

The last two minutes from Sunday’s season finale of Desperate Housewives flashed ahead five years, bringing about many changes on Wisteria Lane. Here’s a quick recap:
– Model-turned-mommy Gabby (Eva Longoria) appears to be raising two daughters. Juanita and Celia were seen playing with Gabby’s makeup and clothes.
– Bree (Marcia Cross) has a cookbook coming out and her son seems to be her agent. She and husband Orson are still together.
– Lynette (Felicity Huffman) is dealing with her juvenile delinquent sons.
– Katherine’s (Dana Delany) daughter Dylan is getting married.
– Susan (Teri Hatcher) has a new man in her life, played by Gale Harold.

Also, USA Today asked Eva Longoria about Kaila Say and Daniella Baltodano, who play Gabby and Carlos’ daughters.
She said, “They are adorable. But I’m not excited about working with children because I’m a really fast shooter. I like to get in and get out and go home to my husband, and children tend to slow that process down. But I am excited about the comedic opportunities.” Yikes!

It kinda gives an empty feeling that they skipped five years
its like whoaaa what the heck?? 5 years is a pretty long time, and so much has changed too. i was SOO scared that that would be it for this show because of all the changes. the most shocking was susan’s new man, and gabby’s 2 kids. Gabby was always portrayed as a selfish person in the show, so i thought that they wouldnt make her a mother on the show. and susan and mike have been through soooo much!! i can’t wait til the beginning of the new season. hopefully everyting wil makes sense again.
OH YEAA! and what about edie?? she just disapeared

From the last 2 minutes, 5 years forward scene, I like the part that Bree is back with Orson and the ladies continue their gatherings.
What I don’t like:
1) Mike is missing from Susan’s life
2) Lynette has 2 juvenile delinquent sons;
3) Model-turned-mommy Gabby looks horrible and totally stressed out.
There may be a possibility season 5 opening will make up a story and rewrite this scene. I am hoping otherwise, I may skip watching it after all.

Bree is no longer frigid (bubble bath instead of cracking open the bubbly, good for you girl!)
Preston grew up to be as bad as the twins (wonder what Penny’s turned into?!)
I hope Katherine and the guy from 2 guys and a girl are back together…
And Susan??!!! NOOOOO!

I was wondering where Carlos was, myself. Is he still blind? If he is, he should be able to get along well enough in his own house to make some dinner for his daughters (if those are indeed his daughters).
This has to be the most genious way on making a show new again…
What happened between those 5 years?!?!? Now they have whole new storylines to give us and leave us wondering what happened in that big gap as they slowly fill us in.

I hated the ending. Very stupid. I wouldn’t take any of it too seriously. I don’t believe any of it any more than I believed Lynette’s whole family died in the twister.

it says Susan deals with the loss of a loved one– im thinking Mike MUST HAVE overdosed!? but in reality, who has a new man after like 7 or so years of being in love with a guy who dies?!
this is REALLY weird =/

I really hope Mike decides to stay on the show through the 7th and final season! Gabby’s kids look a lot older than 5, so did she adopt them? They make her look heavier, too. Can’t wait until next season! This ought to be very interesting.
I actually have a theory about Susan’s “New” husband.
Desperate housewives was created to parody most daytime dramas, like Days of our lives, right? Well, shows like that are KNOWN for replacing actors but keeping the characters.
I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this new actor being a “new” husband is still Mike, but just a “new actor” as a bit of a parody ;)
I think it’s a dream that one of ‘housewives’ has seen … :P
if it isn’t I’m so curious about Susan’s new guy….
and I wanna learn if Carlos is still blind…

obviously, susan is the least interesting character so they had to make her relationship to split…that’s the only angle in which she can do something…
omg! i hate this ross-rachel stuff…IT’S SO ANNOYING!
well………maybe we can see whatever happened to the YOUNG’s.
maybe paul will be out of jail by then.
i think that this episod totally changes all the show and im not sure if ill like it :s , it doesnt make any sense…

OK - gabby has 2 kids - the elder is 4 1/2 yrs.
Bree and Kathrine are very close friends.
Susan and Mike are separated but he will be recurring throughout season 5 because of their son together.
Lynette has to deal with teenaged kids who are trouble except for preston who is still a good boy.
Edie has a husband who wants to move onto Wisteria lane back to Edie’s old house (the one that burned down in season 1)
