OlderMichelle Trachtenberg Trashes Pete Wentz
Michelle Trachtenberg may be playing the new queen of mean on Gossip Girl but her on-screen persona seems to be spilling over into her real life.
As we all know, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married on Saturday during a sunset ceremony at the home of her parents.
As it so happens, before the wedding, one of Pete’s friends, Guav, caught a departing flight out of JFK airport to Los Angeles for the wedding. He just happened to sit next to Pete’s ex-girlfriend, Michelle Trachtenberg, while waiting at one of the Virgin Atlantic gates.
Unbeknownst to her, Guav overheard Michelle “talking s—” on the phone about Pete and Guav immediately started texting Pete everything she was saying.
“WHAT?! ….. You’re going to my ex-boyfriend’s wedding tomorrow?!”

Below is a picture of Guav with some colorful marzipan mushrooms, which Pete and Ashlee had for dessert at their Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. Also pictured are two chocolate table settings from the reception–one is a playing card and the other, a chocolate teacup that was once filled with Raisinettes. Guav also mentioned that celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck catered the event. One delicious dish that was served: lobster tempura with vanilla kung pao sauce. Yum!

Wow.
I agree with Guav, a mountain was made out of this tiny molehill. I heard her on Ryan Seacrest and she did deny the whole thing took place. But then, unlike johann conrad dipple, I’m not her grand defender - could care less one way or the other.
The press makes up things just to get their stories read. I myself don’t believe anything I see in print, especially if it’s on the Internet.
Getting this defensive over any blogger post is pointless. It does amuse me to read these posts, though. If I were Guav, I wouldn’t even answer johann conrad dipple’s posts..
I don’t have an opinion of Guav, but I will say this. If I heard a friend of mine’s ex-girlfriend trash him, I wouldn’t spoil the man’s wedding by texting him about it. If she is an ex, he doesn’t care what she thinks of him. He’s well over her by this time and bringing her up just serves to upset the man.
I don’t know what Guav heard or didn’t hear. Frankly, I do agree with Guav on one point, a mountain was made out of a molehill. Johann should have just kept it short and not got into this argument. Guav shouldn’t have threatened Michelle Trachtenberg over something Johann said because such behavior invites lawsuits and you can’t really make the assumption that some person who posts something knows her. Anything anyone says online should be taken with a grain of salt.
I know Johann. We’ve been friends for a very long time. He isn’t a stalker. He does know some friends of Michelle Trachtenberg. So when someone or the press publishes something about her that isn’t true, he responds, maybe a little too much.
Many news sites never check their sources. Michelle Trachtenberg has publicly denied every rumor about her, including the rumor about her and Pete Wentz. Both her and Pete Wentz in separate interviews have denied they dated the other. So when I see a story where she describes Pete Wentz as an ex-boyfriend, that makes the story suspect to begin with. Everyone who knows her and Pete Wentz are aware they never dated and are just friends. She has also publicly denied she said anything bad about Pete Wentz, something that is a fact.
Anyway, as I said, this whole chain of posts made a major mountain out of a very tiny molehill. Guav didn’t deserve the insults hurled at him by Johann. But, by the same token, threatening Michelle Trachtenberg with more stories about her because of Johann was unfair to her.
Funniest thing I’ve read all year…
“You’re right, I don’t know Pete. I admit it. Back in 2003, when FOB was playing to 50 people in bars, I hatched my nefarious plan to pretend to know this unknown band, and posted a series fake entries in my journal about these two guys who nobody had even heard of yet, with the hopes that someday they’d be huge stars and I could make up a fake story about—of all people, Michelle Trachtenberg. You got me! You have foiled my plan with your supersleuthery. I am no match for you, master detective!”
Could there have been any better PR for Gossip Girl? I’m wondering how much they paid Guav to give ‘em all this free publicity.
Wyzardofozz, it should be pointed out that minutes after I posted that comment I retracted it. I would NEVER do anything like that and was just trying to get “Johann” to STFU and stop being a terd. But even bluffing with that was not fair at all, and I fully recognize that. I have no desire to damage Michelle at all and like I said, it’s not her fault that he’s an overzealous defender of hers who appears to be a wee bit more emotionally invested in her private life than someone who supposedly doesn’t know her should be (weird, IMO) but whatever.
And none of this foolishness “ruined” their wedding, or could even put a damper on it—it was the farthest thing from their mind, I assure you. What she said wasn’t bad enough to ruin anyone’s wedding anyway, as I have pointed out. I didn’t mention it in my blog because she said anything savagely horrible, I only mentioned it because the SITUATION I was in was comical.
And yeah, I totally wish I hadn’t mentioned it at all.
