I actually agree with you. I love being able to keep up with this gorgeous, loving, free-spirited couple but it is a little tiresome that all of Vanessa’s clothing that is not overtly ‘girly’ (like dresses/shoes/purses/women’s jeans) are automatically Zacs’.

It is so cute when she has in the past worn his garments, and I understand the ‘aw’ factor involved with speculating that maybe she’s wearing something of his. But, I think Vanessa has a wonderful fashion sense of her own- including some accesories here and there that she’s borrowed from her boyfriend. :)

Yesterday was Lucy’s 8th birthday. When she woke up, we all hopped into her bed. She looked at us and said, “I don’t feel 8!” We laughed and told her that is a pretty common feeling, NOT feeling a year older on your birthday. She got ready for school, sporting her new High School Musical t-shirt, she brushed her teeth with her new High School Musical toothbrush and then opened her present, High School Musical Barbies.

She had a great day at school and thankfully I did remember to drop off donuts to her class. That was a close one!

After school we asked her where she would like to have her birthday dinner. She wanted California Pizza Kitchen. We drove downtown to CPK and found a parking spot right in front. (Which was miraculous) As Aaron parked I looked out my window and noticed a small group of people standing less than 5 feet from my car door. First I recognized Kenny Ortega the director of High School Musical! “NO WAY!! That’s Kenny Ortega!!!” I shouted to Lucy and signed to Leah. Then I realized that Vanessa AKA Gabriella and Zac Efron AKA Troy were standing with him!!! Zac had a hat on and Vanessa had BIG sunglasses, you could tell they were trying NOT to be recognized. “Oh my gosh!! Lucy look it’s Zac and Vanessa!!!!” I threw open my door, grabbed Lucy and walked the 4 steps to stand in front of them. “I am sorry to bother you, but it’s her birthday today and she’s even wearing her HSM t-shirt and got HSM barbies as her gift can we just say Hi?!!!” They said, “Happy Birthday!” and Zac asked Lucy to give him “5″. She did. Kenny started waving at Leah, letting her know it was okay to come out of the car. Leah wheeled forward in her heeleys, white as a ghost with her jaw to the ground. “ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!”, she all but screamed. Zac said, “I like your heeleys!”

We let them know how much we love HSM and are excited for the next one. (They shoot here in Salt Lake City). And you may have recognized “Coach Bolton” in our Signing Time DVD “Family Feelings and Fun”.
Then they quickly made their way through the mall before too large of a crowd formed. we stood their stunned. I realized my legs were shaking. LOL. Lucy looked at us and said, “This is the Best Day Ever!” We had to agree.

After lunch we ran into Kenny again. He stopped Lucy and was talking to her. He had his little Yorkie with him and told Lucy that he loves her name, and when he gets another Yorkie, he is going to name it Lucy.

When I told my sisters what had happened they all asked, “How did you pull that off?” I just laughed, “Oh what we won’t do for a birthday around here!”

We didn’t get pictures with them, but I will be posting Leah and Lucy’s afterglow pictures when we got to the restaurant.

Am I the only one somewhat bothered by that sighting story? Please tell me what kind of person drags a child out of a car, and puts her in front of a celebrity like that? And then expects them to be nice and gush over her child? There are a million children out there who are special and would love to meet them. I think it was completely rude of that mother. And it certainly gives me a good idea of the kind of people these actors have to deal with day in and day out. OMG.

My son as his Prom coming up in July we live in the UK and they have only recently sarted doing Proms in our schools and when he told me he got asked to Prom I was like ‘aww’ got me thinking how grown up he’s getting and also where have the year’s gone, their also having a year book done which is new too, can’t wait to see his photo in it.

#152 Pit- I see where you are coming from, but I prefer HSM2 over the original as far as entertainment value. They can never replace the chemistry and originality of the first, so that is also special for fans.

It seems like people may be jumping the gun on what this 3rd movie entails? The 2nd was about summer (and a country club owned by Sharpay and Ryan’s parents so I felt it made sense that she/they got the amount of screentime) I’m trusting that Disney realizes there are MANY characters we fans want to see their stories come to a close with attention to not just one character like we may have seen in the 2nd.

Ashley plays a strong character, with over the top drama, which does add that element of comedy. But I hope we see Taylor, Chad, Kelsi, Martha, Jason, Zeke, Ryan, and of course Gabriella and Troy’s stories all get a decent amount of screen time. I wouldn’t say I want “less” Ashley/Sharpay, but more wildcats in general.

This is the first time I have ever posted, but just wanted to get in on the fun. I am a 35 year-old teacher who only started looking up information about HSM so I could talk with my 5th grade students about something they are all crazy about; I enjoy having some “common ground” with them. However, I have become completly hooked and reading posts such as Just Jared has become my guilty pleasure! I find the whole Zac/Vanessa relationship to be a great relief from all the typical Hollywood hype-relationships. I think it’s great that my students have such wonderful role models available to them and I have enjoyed watching Zac and Vanessa grow and mature over the past year. I am so excited about HSM 3 and am also looking forward to seeing all of the projects Zac and Vanessa have been working on. :)

You’re so right! I often use my 4-year old as an excuse to watch the HSM movies over and over again, since he likes them, too. In fact, just yesterday, my husband commented that I must be the only person over 13 who actually knows the movies word-for-word, song-for-song. However, he just read your comment and now I have proof that I’m not the only “weird” one (to quote your son)! Now I won’t have to use my son as a reason to put the movies on! Hey everyone of you Zanessa Fans,

Been up all not with my grand-daughter helping her finish her memories book that was due today. We have been working on this project for weeks. Her teacher hands out portions of the the do list at a time. She wants to be very creative so, guess what. Just call Granny…..It’s o.k. though we had some fun just being with each other.

Anyway, I said all this to say I will be signing off for the obvious reason.

Had to check in though on our favorite couple. Thanks for the videos from GMA, and interviews from Extra about HSM3. It’s so good to see the gang again. I was so glad to here Zac , when he was asked about everyone looking at his girl, his eyes lit up and a great big smile as he as says she deserves it. Also, Vanessa on her boyfriend, she said girls scream at him to. You can tell that they are definitely comfortable with others knowing their a couple and you can tell they love and enjoy being with each other.

I know what you mean about Zac his face literally lights up when he talks about Vanessa and it’s nice to see that it look’s like he’s getting more comfortable about being a bit more open about his relactionship with Vanessa but while still keeping the main things between them, loved it when he said that he was ‘proud’ of her and it really shows in his face.

And by the look at it on one of the videos I think it’s the extra one it look’s like Vanessa has her ring on, so I’ve a feeling like Karen as said we will seeZac’s ring again and even if he has lost it I’m sure that he would be able to get another one, after all they got them for each other so I would imagin e they have a lot of meaning for them and it’s nice to see Vanessa wear’s her I’m sure it will return ( Zac’s)

Ginger - I laughed at your name for all us moms - “Cougar Contingent”. Just the other day, my husband asked me is I knew what a cougar was and I had no idea. So he explained it to me, like so many other slang terms that he knows from his teenage boy days.

Except my admiration for Zac is based on a mother’s perspective. I just hope that my two teen age sons show such talent and humility and that they are as kind to their girlfriends as Zac. I have to say that I would love to meet Zac’s mom because she definitely did something right!

Ginger, welcome to our “contingent”!! I’ve always called this my “guilty pleasure” as well!! My kids are 26, 23, and 19. My 19 yr. old son thinks I’m nuts, but my 2 daughters love HSM !! My daugter’s fiance is a fan as well….she made him watch it with her! And we’re ALL out of the demographic!!

I think the success of these movies should tell the studio heads how much we really need wholesome fun again in movies, and that we need to see values return to TV and movies that our kids watch. The fact that we adults love it too is icing on the cake!!

liz, I’d have to say there are parts of both 1 and 2 that I like. I love the development of the characters and their chemistry in 1, but I really like the dance numbers and campiness of the 2nd better. I will always love the opening song in #1, “The Start of Something New” with Zac and Vanessa. I knew the minute I watched it, that there was something special with those two. I loved the emotion in “Gotta Go my Own Way”. Loved the dance number at the end of #2 at the pool. Oh, it’s so hard to pick favorites!!

I really liked HSM for the songs and story line development.
I also enjoyed HSM2 for the deepening of Troy and Gabbi’s relationship and the dance numbers were great too.
I’ m hoping that HSM3 is the best in all areas. Can’t wait for the “big screen.”

I enjoyed watching all 3 celebrity shows. They all had a little something to add about the storyline and characters.

Well, I’m definitely older but I don’t know that I’m going to put myself in the Cougar Contingent. If my understanding is right of what a cougar is—an older woman who goes after a younger man—then that’s not going to be me. I love both Zac AND Vanessa. I also really like all the other HSM kids too. I think both Zac and Vanessa are talented and have that “IT” factor. They are young and I don’t wish to see them knocked around by the likes of the gossip magazines or the paps and what these type people do to young actors. I feel so strongly about them that I want to protect them and support them so they can have a chance in this crazy medium they are in. I wants to dispel the lies and rumors and hopefully make people think what they do to these young performers by believing everything they read or hear. I would like to help the young fans who are suppose to be fans of these two to see the things these two have to deal with and let them know the truth. I’m not trying to be preachy but I’m just not after Zac Efron. I think he is really a hot and handsome guy—I’m not DEAD and OLD, just OLD. But I’m not some shady woman that somebody needs to be leery of or those things that some have tried to accuse us of being.

Now, maybe if I was about 25 years younger, Miss Vanessa might need to worry…

Just thought I’d let you know I’m also, “Cougar Contingent”, and I’m a Grandma. Yea I’m hooked. Got HSM1 for Christmas for my grand-daughters, watched it with them and the rest is history. Oh, except now my 6yr. old grandson likes both HSM’s. He likes, “Get Your Head in the Game”, and thinks Troy is cool.
Back to me now, My grand-daughter spent the night with us last night and woke up to me singing songs and talking about the video on GMA. She said she tried to wake me up but I don”t remember. She and my husband had a good time laughing….

Zanfan2, right you are, indeed. I’m just a mature fan,like you and many others. We’ve been calling ourselves, Angels from the beginning. This has led to another blog/site called the Zaangels. It all began on JJ, the founder members were regulars from here and a talented and articulate lot they are. They have kept the Zanessa fan base very much alive and entertained us when there was absolutely no news or sighting of either of our favourite pair. Well, if need be, feel free to come up with a better name. I’m just a HRA, a term coined by Ellie, I think. It means hoplessly romantic angel/anonymous.

Cindy, that’s interesting to know your teens are keen on acting. It’s not easy, I must say and you must be a very supportive parent. There was a parent here by the name of Kim whose daughter Taylor was also going for auditions and stuff. They both managed to be extras at the basketball playoff scene in hsm3. Real exciting and rewarding. I do envy them. She gave an account of her experience on the zaangels blog

I know, I am reading Kim’s account as the parts of it are coming in. My kids would have loved to be extras or even minor parts like dancers etc. in HSM 3. Their school sent out info. to parents in Jan. on this. We considered it but both my kids are in show choir and they had a major competition coming up they could not miss. Also we would have had to be in Salt Lake City from late March to mid June and I was still working as a reading tutor at my elementary school until May 15th. There was also the added expense of hotel and plane fare etc. Since they are 15 and 16 I would have to be on set with them at all times. The notice the school sent to us said parents must be able to see their child at all times while on stage. At no time can they be unaccompanied. Once they are 17 they aren’t as strict. Since they go to a performing arts high school , I think there will be many chances for them to do things such as HSM. They both have had photo shoots, video tapings, and portfolios made of their previous work. They just finished performing in Fiddler on the Roof at school.

Seeing them talk about each other is a treat. I just wanted to say to all the people who want to think Disney is forcing them to be a couple, use your eyes. Notice the way he looks when he says her name , the smile, the blush. To me it would have been better for Disney if they could say he was single and still looking for a girl They could have played that for all its worth. His being off the market still upsets some of his fans which is why they want to believe Disney is manipulating this couple.
Its real people, just accept it.

agreed on the voice being deeper - I noticed that in the promo shots for the GMA feature this week - I was like “wooh - was that Zac talking” - then when the interviews came on it was like - yes it is and I don’t think he had a cold making talk that low!! Yes he is maturing. Nicely.

As a founding member of Zanessa’s Angels, I am proud of what we do on JJ. Even though the comments can get really bad, they will never cause me to give up what we set out to do from the beginning.

Well Said Go Sox! As an Original Member of Zanesa’s Angels, I feel proud of the work we’ve done here as well. No longer do we hardly get all of the obnoxious, crass, dirty posters as before. I feel that we dealt with them as they deserved… Yes, some of them w/harshness at times, but most importantly, they are no longer posting. Yet, we’re still here… And we’re proud of that.

Hi to everyone, especially, Karen, Maria, Narf and Steph (fellow ZA’s from JJ), and a howdy to Boji. I, too, am a proud member of the original Zanessa’s Angels here on JJ. Yes, we’ve taken a lot of flack for defending our favorite couple, but we have never given up and gone elsewhere to form another site away from controversy. We gladly and diligently lift up our wings and rightly fend off all the bad posters here on JJ, and we plan to be around for a long time. So all haters or would be haters, take heed. WE LOVE ZANESSA!

I guess the ZA angels are okay. At least they keep fans up to date with what’s happening.

The vibe I get from there though is that it is mostly about Zac. Sometimes I think they would rather be running a Zac and Ashley site or a Zac, Ashley and Vanessa site, the way they manage to always get Ashley (not Lucas, or Momo or Corbin or Oleysa or Aly Michalka) into a lot of the posts. I don’t mind Ashley but if you’re going to run a site based on a relationship, keep it based on that. They are a couple not a threesome. Otherwise just run a Zac fansite or a Hsm one. It’s perfectly alright to run a Zac fansite and now and then mention his relationship or his girlfriend, no need to run a fansite based on a relationship except you like both individuals in the relationship. I visit occasionally but as I don’t find Zac hot, I don’t often linger as sometimes the vibe towards Vanessa is not exactly complimentary. I started out just as a Vanessa fan but now I really like Zac, i just don’t find him hot. If they left JJ because of negativity, that’s quite a laugh as thier criticism of Vanessa’s single and GQ appearance is not exactly positive. At least, fans here, while being equally fair to both, really love the couple not just for their looks, stick out their necks for them and have sanitised the Vanessa and Zac threads with lots of mature posters keeping it interesting. Just a quick look at other threads will show how different V and Z’s JJ threads are considering they are quite young celebs, they actually have a lot more older and sensible posters than other celebs.

Okay, I’m done ranting. I’m sorry to have started with ranting, this have been bottled up for a while, I think a lot of the posters here go thankless but I’ve been lurking for quite a long while here on JJ and I’ve seen how V and Z fans have stuck out their necks for those two and have changed the atmosphere on these threads for the most part. They have no site to promote or anything to gain, they just love these kids and cover their backs here. Well done guys!

By the way, I’m Ruth, I’ve just turned thirty, I live in the UK and I’m a doctor. We definitely need a name for older fans, we’re outnumbering the younger ones!

that is my error if i have never said thank you- but i honestly don’t feel the work here has ever gone “thankless” b/c everyone really likes hearing what the regulars have to say (even if we disagree at times) as long as it’s done without being vulgar.

Sara, I’m not here to bash anyone’s site, but I agree with Ruth in that if you’re going to promote Zanessa, why bring others into the mix and kind of ignore Vanessa? So, yeah, that’s my opinion. But they are not doing any harm in a big way and everyone is free to express their own opinions and blog where they want to blog. One of my favorite sites besides JJ is VABN. I find the information there reliable and non-biased and would recommend it to anyone looking for true info. on the Disney stars.

Thanks to everyone here, no matter the age, who loves and supports Zac and Vanessa as a couple and also as individuals. Seperately they are quite impressive, but together they are awesome.

i think the za angels may have started out as a zac and vanessa fan site/blog but changed to a zac/vanessa/ashley site because one of their admin people is a big ashley fan. idk. maybe they should make it a hsm site. and i’ve noticed that that site gets negative comments the same way all fan sites do.

Time out for a commercial in these “heavey discussions” (just kidding)……but anyway…..I was reading our local newspaper this evening while waiting for the skating rink to open and leave my son to spend the evening with all the kids from school he is “missing this summer” — since school just got out yesterday!! He is 11 so a whole day has been a long time…..anyway, I was reading an article by the “fashion editor” about the CROC brand shoes…..like last summer, they have come out with some more new styles this year…..even a sandal with a three inch wedge heel…..yes, that’s true……it was in red in the picture and I could see some of the younger gals wearing them and looking good, but she was talking about the CROC company coming out with some “better styles” and high end shoes……and also mentioned that in June CROCs will be releasing lines of “Hannah Montana and High School Musical” CROC shoes…..now I can’t wait to see what these CROCs are going to look like.

I have to admit, I do have the “traditional style” CROCs and wear them only occasionally for extremely casual wear (I call them my Minnie Mouse shoes), but I am not sure I will wear the 3 inch wedge heeled sandals — but I might just have to invest in a HSM Musical pair when they come out!!! Wouldn’t my kids be excited…….I actually have a HSM totebag, with Troy and Gabrielle on it…..I bought it to use when we were in Disney World in April!! I think the CROCs and totebag would go well together!!! And I am SURE Disney World will be selling both lines of CROCs — Hannah’s and HSM too…

Well, I have gone to many sites as well and the peeps here have been very welcoming as well as at the ZA Angels site. Really we are all here to learn, envy and support 2 wonderful people. Now the issue about ZA Angels posting about Ashley, well VABN stands for Vanessa, Ashley, Brenda and Monique, but they post info about many other Disney Stars, so just because their name is for a certain set of people it doesn’t bind them to just post about those people and no one else.
As far as I have seen VABN and the ZA Angels eem to post alot of the same info.
Really if we all would just support one another it would be a more peaceful world. And, we don’t even know Zac and Vanessa on a personal leve. so if they ever heard of peeps calling themselves Zanessa Angels or ZA Anges or whatever, they may be a litttle freaked out. :)
But like I said trying to rid the threads of haters in tiresome, I just skip right over those comments, it’s not worth my energy, but the peeps here try to keep the peace and for the most part it works..Great job!!
But regardless of the site or your tag name in the webworld, we all love Zac and Vanessa and friends….right????

At any rate, Zac has completed two noteworthy movies over the past few months—17 Again and Me and Orson Wells. He is the star of both movies and works with “real actors” as you call them—Leslie Mann, Matthew Perry, Michelle Trachenberg, Claire Danes, Christian McKay, Ben Chaplain and James Tupper among others.

Hi Dalia, thanks for your input, but sorry to say that it’s not a fair comparison - ZA Angels to VABN. VABN has been around a lot longer and they seem to be fair to all the Disney stars they promote. They also seem to have a good code of ethics and will not post stories or pics from someone’s personal blog without their permission. But I’m not here to pit one against the other - everyone should visit each site and judge for themselves. Thanks for your support!

I agree with most of the comments here. It does seem sometimes that the ZA Angels tend to favor Zac. Not that I’m complaining. The more sites there is to bring good news about Zac, then so much the better.

However, I do notice that their site do not credit VABN. I find it odd that most of their concepts were just a spin-off of what has already been done in VABN. There seems to be an underlying tension there. If they would really be objective about things…in my belief, personal differences should be set aside and they should give credit where proper credit is due. That is merely my observation and in no way am I connected with VABN. It is just my opinion. Just my two cents.

As for the original Zanessa Angels here in JJ…I applaud all of your great efforts in equally defending Zac and Vanessa. :)

All I’m saying is that the defenders here, the staff at VABN AND the staff at the ZA Angels site are all browsing the web for info on Zac and Vanessa as well as their friends or co stars to share with the rest of us…
I’m not necessarily comparing VABN to the ZA site, I’m simply just wanting peeps to realize that they created a site for fans just like every other fansite out there.
Actually comparing them is the problem. Why pit one against the other??? I go to both and am very welcomed at each.
I agree with the wonderful support given here too. I never once had an issue with the commentors on this site.

I’ve posted the same observation in that site before and it was merely brushed off. With that said, I am also not blind to their efforts. I have also given them praise for their efforts. I even said that I was not complaining at all. It just probably boils down to preference and opinion….surely I have the right to speak up even if we differ in opinions, right?

#269 I am also fan of Shia LaBeouf and I’m very happy to see how far he’s come from “Even Stephens” (Yes he’s another Disney kid). But since he played a high school student in both “Disturbia” and “Transformers” he only recently left “High School Land.” But I loved him in “Indiana Jones ahd the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” And I’m thrilled for him.

As far as Emile Hirsh goes I’ve only seen him in “Speed Racer,” and I would take ANY of the “High School Musical” films over that one anyday. However just because I didn’t care for the movie doesn’t mean it wasn’t a “real movie” with “real actors.”

See what I just did there? I expressed my negative opinion of the film without dimenshing the hard work and talents (and there was talent) involved.

You might want to think about that.

Kgg, hope you get to read this. My girl’s coping ok. She’s struggling a bit with the assignments and I”m her consultant. I read through her work, comment and correct her english. Unfortunately, when she was in school, the main subjects were conducted in our national language.not like during my day when English was the major language.

My vacation was a lazy one, driving my mom around, getting a manicure, and foot spa(it’s real cheap over there) A bit of shopping and just hanging out with mom and of course visiting some relatives and friends and eating. Got all this flab, am now back to badminton.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Yes, I have been to Wisconsin Dells. It is lots of fun too. Your kids will love it. THey have a lot of outdoor water parks at the dells, duck boat rides, water park hotels, outdoor water shows etc. We stayed at the Wilderness lodge which has a wonderful indoor and outdoor water park included in the price of the hotel room. Hope you have a great time. If you go , say hi to Vanessa, if you meet her ,from her JJ site fans. Wish she was coming to Virginia , but sadly she’s not.

They even had flipflops with just zac and vanessa on them! it was a pic. from HSM2! unfortunately they didn’t have my size-only like little kids- lol kinda makes sense but…come on hsm has older teen fans too!! I was able to purchase an adorable “troy and gabriella” charm bracelet- it is so cute and shows a picture from the “you are the music in me” scene in hsm2, it has the “T” from the necklace he gives her, a heart, and it has a little thing with-T&G forever! SO CUTE! I also bought a pin with Z AND V on it-well troy and gabriella but anyways, yeah they are both cute little things i bought.. i hope i’m not too old i’m 16 but hey it makes me and my sister and even my mom happy so that’s what matters..lol! have a pleasant day zanessa fans! once again 5 more months-seems so far away!!!!! it will hopefully go fast.

First of all… none of us own the term “Zanessa Angels”

Secondly, it is a website for Zac news, Vanessa news, and Zac and Vanessa news.

Thirdly, even though I am the latest admin and have no clue about how you guys all interacted on here before the others set up the blog; i think they’ve all done a spiffing job on that site; have done Z and V justice and I can’t think of one bad thing to say about any of them. If you’re a Zac and Vanessa fan and defend them both on here then that’s fantabulous - but what’s wrong with heading over there for a bashing-free zone???

Those girls have been doing it longer than me, but I think we should all stick together on this instead of having petty arguments about who owns the freaking term “Zanessa Angels” or about whether you think our site is Zac/Vanessa/Ashley based. It is Zac based. Vanessa based. And Zac and Vanessa as a couple based. Any news on Ashley, Corbin or other co-stars go into random chats and we never feature stories on individual co-stars unless it is connected somehow to Z and V.

So, If I do understand well what you’re saying, there’s not only an exclusive group of fans which owns the right to be called “Zanessa Angels” but everyone or nobody ? Well, I understand your point and I agree with it although your explanation and Go Sox, Kgg and all the ” Angels from JustJared”’s one are , to me, both true. Or I should say … credible. To my mind, all the true Zanessa’s fans are Zanessa Angels.
