Jake Gyllenhaal is the Prince of Persia
Jake Gyllenhaal has been crowned the Prince of Persia!
The 27-year-old actor and Gemma Arterton, who stars in the new James Bond film, will take the lead roles in the fantasy adventure, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which starts production in July.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.”
Last month, it was reported that Orlando Bloom would take on the role.

David K. Zandi is not only an actor, but he is a real life, honest to goodness Prince of Persia! According to historical records he is one of the last male members of the Zand dynasty which ruled the Persian Empire.
now after seeing mr. zandi( may be producers are looking for someone who is famous as well) who is a perfect chocie . looking at mr. zandi , i see how correct i was to see colin farrell a perfect actor to play the role if they are looking for an actor who fits the part and makes a more believable charactor who is famous as well . see for yourself. jake does’t look the part, it would be a big disaster.

“Strange” as in her “insiders” flaming the Orlando boards about how great she is and we are all “jus jellus” and then wham….they all disappear, as well as the shippers of the couple all of a sudden turn on Bloom. Many of us think its her family and few friends that were all of a sudden shut down because he cut it off with her. Just read some of the Orlando threads here and other places and you will see….if you have that much extra time LOL!
Doesnt matter though. The rumors of him being sighted out with other women have already started. I could be completely wrong, but I’ve felt all along that this was a very strange pairing and that for her being this sexy VS model he sure didnt seem into her. So he’s either gay (no need for Orlando bashers to repeat things that have already been said about that!) or she is a complete bioch that wasnt hard to not like at all! I’m going with the second based on things that folks that have worked with her have said. Make of it what you will if you are that interested.

Sometimes choices based on appearance phisical go bad. See the last Superman. Brandon (??) was chosen cause he looks like Christopher Reeve and so? The movie didn´t run very well!
I think Jake has charism and he can carry this movie.

you are so mad because i said jake is not the right actor for role, it’s the truth, his facial features are not good for persian prince , his nose is too wide, his eyes are to small and his lips are too tin , and his face looks so bulky and large, i don’t have any thing against him, if they were to make a movie for incredible huck i would be the first one to say jake is perfect for the role honestly.

I totally disagree with you. If you want to have an open mind, if you want to have wider knowledge about anything. If I want to read a history about a country, I will read about that country from as many books as I can get. I don’t really care who wrote it. Of course, it would be better, if the person had an international reputation.

which Iranian writers will you choose? The ones before the Shah, during the Shah, or after the Shah? The one who supported/against the Shah? The ones during/ after Khomeini, who against/supported him? The ones who support/against the present government? The one who stay in the country, or in exile?

And this film is just a fiction! It has nothing to do with the real history of ancient Persia. So, take it easy!
If the HW people could make us believe that King Leonidas of Sparta, had a Scottish accent (I like Gerry Butler by the way) who had a soldier with New Zealand accent (David Wenham - I like him as Faramir, btw), I think Jake will be able to make us believe that he is a Persian Prince!
One thing might be noted. Jake and his sister don’t talk about each other much anymore. They used to chatter on about their rivalry (more or less friendly) etc, etc., but now that he is obviously the much more successful one (and the one who has hooked Ms. Richbitch of Hollyweird) talking about each other has died down almost completely. You almost never hear anything about Maggiewumps. And her last turn in the Batman movie is still to come out.

Look at the statue of Alexander the great. He was blond. I saw in museu of anthropology in Stuttgart a statue of Buda with face of Alexander the great and the Buda was blond too.

A statue of Alexander the Great with colored hair??? Where? You must have climbed up and colored his hair. I’ve never seen any authentic ancient statues with colored hair. They are all white marble that has no color. I think you are being confused by movies you have seen.
Jake is a good actor, but not great. You can see the difference between a good and a great actor in Brokeback Mt. Heath was great;; Jake was good. And that is why Heath’s death was such a loss: the loss of a truly great actor. Sad.
I am kind of happy that Orlando isnt taking this role. Hes been in blockbusters for so long. He needs to expand as an actor and grow. I hope he will star in indi or low budget films. These action films are great but they are just cgi. I like movie that are peices of art.
One has to admit that Jake and Reese are two of the nicest people, at least in public, in Hollyweird. They both behave themselves when in public. They don’t get drunk, have fights, or fall stupified into the gutter. It is pretty clear they don’t drug, drink if they do in moderation, and stay home at night and watch movies or cook dinner or whatever. One can have fun making fun of them a bit but overall they are a class act in a town filled mainly with clown acts.

They both were so unique, truth Heath was better actor, he was totally dedicated to his roles…. Jake take this job less personally, specially after Heath’s death, he enjoy in small things like shopping with Reese, he except minor roles (Nailed)…..

The old vases are colored. But you can reconize that the people are blond or not even if the statues are write. Nowadays the modern tecnic can show how was the statues were colored in the past…

I live in Germany and I travel several times in year here in Europa, Asia and north Africa too. I don’t need watch a movie to have an idea how was the old Geece. When I have some curiosity I can travel over there. In museums there are exelents guides whose sometimes are archeologist too! Ok!
In Germany there are exelents libraries and we can research and have a exelents books because the gemans, frenchs and englishs people began to research this science and they continuous to research…
