Gossip Girl sweetie Taylor Momsen looks regal in Marchesa at the American Ballet Theatre’s 2008 annual spring gala at the Metropolitan Opera House on Monday in New York City.
“I love wearing jeans and T-shirts. That’s like a uniform for me,” the 14-year-old rising star told Access Hollywood recently. “But at the same time, I love getting dressed up. I don’t follow trends with my everyday fashion. I wear what I feel like. Sometimes it doesn’t match and sometimes that’s okay.”

Miley Cyrus is just 5 months older and is wearing dresses like that too, what is the problem? I think she looks gorgeous, the dress is beautiful and so is Taylor!! She rocks!! And last night episode of GG was awesome, I will miss it sooooo much!! =(

Her parents are the one to blame! I would never allow my 14 year old daughter wearing that much makeup and to wear such an inappropriate dress that makes her even look older than she already is. Whether it’s for publicity or not. Just my opinion!
Miley Cyrus is not exactly the best explanation to use for why a 14-year-old is dressed and made up like an adult. Miley started dressing much older and more provocatively than she should be too. Their parents should be ashamed - makes it seem like they think anything’s okay as long as their kid is bringing home the bacon. Sad.
@ lissa, what’s so inappropriate about the dress? It’s floor length, I’d say she’s covered up. Get over yourself, kids these days are more fashion forward. She’s not going to show up to an event in a sweatshirt and jeans , she’s gorgeous. The end.

Vanessa, My point wasn’t whether she’s covered up or not. It just DOESN’T look too suitable or something you would normally see on a 14 year-old. It just looks too mature for her but that wouldn’t matter would it since she already “looks” old enough now would it? Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. THE end.
Yeah,both she,Ali Lohan and Miley Cyrus does look older than they are.I guess that is the media influence.Drew Barrymore started drinking and partying with 20-sumthin year olds when she was only 9!But lets be honest,Dakota Fanning, for example,is 14 as well and dresses like an 8 year old.
She is gorgeous. Give her a few years and she will be stunning!
Lissa, I know exactly where your coming from. I totally agree with you. And shamrocks gave a perfect example. Dakota Fanning’s wardrobe is always appropriate for her age no questions asked.
I also forgot to mention. Check out the recent event Dakota attended. I personally think it was lovely for her to wear at the age!

Lissa, her FEATURES are what make her look older, if you’ve ever seen her without makeup or just dressed in a pair of jeans and t-shirt you’ll see that she STILL looks older then her age. I believe the dress fits the occasion and is much more suitable then anything you’ll see at prom these days. I’m sorry, but I think sometimes parents are stuck in their “ways” and just need to be a little bit more openminded. “Just my opinion.”
