I think it was a set up and i think tht the show would have an easier time getting out an record etc with cook rather than with archie and his show dad, so simon did something sorta uncharacheristic and he chose sides and the curse of simon prevailed! Cook was pretty good and so was the kid but the more mature and marketable contestant won.
