OlderGwyneth Paltrow is Tod’s Leading Lady

Check out Gwyneth Paltrow’s new ad campaign for Italian label Tod’s for their autumn/winter 2008-9 collection.
According to UK’s Vogue, Mario Testino photographed the campaign in Capri last month. The 36-year-old actress is said to evoke a “uber luxurious, outdoors-y life of a beautiful Italian aristocrat from the heady days of the jet-set era.”
“Gwyneth effortlessly embodies the spirit of the all American woman with timeless elegance and modern flair - the perfect representation of the Tod’s woman,” says creative director Derek Lam. “And, of course, beyond her impeccable style, she is an artist whose body of work I greatly admire.”
And apparently, Gwyn has a film short for Tod’s premiering in Cannes!

re: Photoshop…all ads and magazine photos are. It’s no mystery and nobody is above it. It’s just a fact. Although, I sure wish I had somebody to do that to all my photos!
They did a gorgeous job but she also looks a lot older than her actual age. She looks like the mom of the Gwyn who was at Cannes.

I love JP Tods’s . Love that bag. She’a actually looking good these days. I think her getting older will make her look more sophisticated. She’s aging nicely. I just wish her attitude would age nicely also.

WTF. I thought all these big-mouthed movie stars liked to wax on about global warming and going green, then they turn around and pimp themselves out for multi-million dollar ad campaigns that portray the “uber-luxurious…jet-set days.” Apparently, even though they blather on about the evils of capitalism, they are blind to the economic catastrophe happening around them.
It’s hard to say why I don’t get excited with is woman. She is beautiful alright, but her movie personas are so hohum, with maybe one exception - Shakespear In Love.
I would like to see her in controversial roles. Hohom roles are for Jennifer Aniston.
