OlderJude Law is a Meter Man
Jude Law chats on his cell phone and pays the parking meter while strolling through the streets of London on Thursday.
The 35-year-old British actor is reportedly dating rocker Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly, 28, after two were recently seen kissing in the VIP area of the 195 Nightclub in Essex.
An onlooker said: “We couldn’t believe it when we saw Kimberly Stewart kissing Jude Law. He’s the first big name we have ever seen in there. So my friends and myself walked over and asked if we could have our photo taken with them. But they said no, turned back to face each other again then carried on kissing.”
The source added: “Two bodyguards then came over to us and snatched the camera out of my friend’s hand because they had seen us taking pictures. They passed the camera to Jude, who then looked through our photos. The bodyguard later gave the camera back to us and, to our disappointment, they had deleted our pictures of Jude and Kimberly.”
Other pictures inside include Jude with director pal Jeremy Gilley and actor Christian Slater promoting the Peace One Day at the Olympia Theatre during the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week.

I was going to say… that’s mean. But it’s actually an invasion of privacy to them, they shouldn’t have taken the camera in the first place, but still it’s pretty rude when they cannot lead their lives and kiss whoever they want to… even if it’s gross

I have been thinking. Many times some people said that Jude lost his looks….but look at him. Even in a daily clothes, that million men had already worn, old t-shirt, old jeans, and flip-flop, …as if it was a brand new creation from Dior or Armani…as if he was a photo model on the cat walk, well the models always look sour anyway…This man….if there was no monitor in front of me, I did not know what would happen to him…I could just…… erghm!
The creator of jeans must have been thinking or imagining a muse who looked like Jude….This ragged jeans looks so zexy on him!!

How uncool to bother Jude and Kimberly like that in a club, taking photos of them like geeky tourists! I think their bodyguards had every right to confiscate the cameras the way they did and delete any unwanted shots—how would any of us feel, famous or not, if random strangers were taking pics and ogling them of any of us, perhaps with the danger of those pics being sold and splashed in tablois everywhere? Yes, we’re not celebs and they’re used to such things, and I’m sure it was pretty exciting for “regular folk” to see them in there, but comon—be cool and give the guys their space. Leave the unplanned candid shots for the paps who stalk celebs regularly.
Yeah, Jamie, I’ll be so very glad when the arm and chest hair are back….(I miss it!)…and that “tattoo” is gone off his arm. I still wonder what that’s all about…? Some have suggested Mambo reshoots, but I just don’t know…

if i saw THAT coming at me i would instantly make a human fence in front of him. when he couldn’t pass i’d faint in his arms…as i was fainting i would mutter something like only a kiss from jude law would bring me to. after the kiss because jude is such a compassionate guy i’d say my fainting medicine is in my home and i need someone to accompany me back to retreive it. being such a gentlemen he would take me home. once inside i would lock all doors and windows and hold him hostage for the rest of my life. what i would do with him after that….well…..that’’s a whole other story….

But you may want to note the following about Martin Luther King, a man who is nothing if not about peace and war; revered all-around and winner of the Nobel peace prize. There are actually worse stuff than this but you get the picture. Kissing a “brainless woman” would be at the very least of King’s sins.

#51 and #52: You’re saying someone that can kiss Kim cannot be serious about world peace? I don’t see the correlation in that. I definitely have my own thoughts about that whole Kim thing, but it certainly doesn’t negate my belief in his desire to promote peace. He really is a person that cares about what’s going on in the world around him and has done many things for betterment, namely the Peace One Day project, donating time to a young theater group in Africa, or donating time and money to restoring a theater in London. So yeah, while unfortunately his date with Kim got some negative attention (and I can relate to your feelings about it) that’s not really all there is to him, and it seems kind of unfair to negate his good because of it. :)

this project in the first place. I know Jermey started it, but he had been
working on it 10 years and could not get the attention it deseverd. Jude
got on board the project and risk his life to go Afterganstand (sorry for the mispell) with Jermey ,that how commited he is to the project no other stars jump in and did that . Also Jude went to Cannes and draw more attention the the project by himself, with no red carpet or tux . So please people , Is a kissing a women in a bar more important to you

Thanks for the question. I didn’t make myself clear. I agree with you that Jude has made many decent movies but not any recently. I liked The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain and even Closer is a really good movie. But I haven’t seen anything much out of him since then.

He recently finished filming “Repossession Mambo” with Forest Whitaker, due out next year, and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, filling in for Heath Ledger’s character along with Johnny Depp and Colin Farrel. It also has Tom Waits and Verne Troyer and sounds like it’ll be very interesting. They’ve kept the segments that Heath had finished filming before his death, but Johnny, Colin, and Jude will take on different forms of his character after passing through a mirror on three occasions. I don’t think I’ve done it justice trying to explain it, you would have to go to the IMDb board for the film to get the real gist of it. It was also recently announced that he’ll be doing a film called Rage with Judi Dench soon.
Next summer, he’ll be doing Hamlet on the London stage.
Right now, he has My Blueberry Nights out with Norah Jones, Natalie Portman, David Straitharn, and Rachel Weisz. It’s an artsy film with Asian director Wong Kar Wai, and his movies generally don’t do big box office because they are artsy. I would guess these actors just wanted a chance to work with the director, who has some very loyal followers of his work.
I agree with you about the movies you mentioned…they are among my very favorites of Jude’s. I also really like Immortality (very artsy), Gattaca, and Wilde…all very excellent performances by Jude. I really pretty much like his performances in most of his other films, even if the films themselves aren’t all that exceptional.

He has had 11 movies since Cold Mountain, actually. And yeah, there has been a lot of tab stuff on him, which is unfortunate since he really is much more than what his tabloid persona is made out to be. There’s a definite fascination with anything they can dig up or uncover about him, mostly the bad, and then sensationalize to make it juicier.

And to add to your comment about his talent being wasted, I don’t exactly know how to feel about that…because on the one hand, he choses what interests him, I think, and gives good performances in what he does…but on the other, I know that actors are judged as successful or unsuccessful by most of the ticket-buying audience on whether or not they’ve had big box office. However, the movies Jude has chosen lately either weren’t very good scripts or weren’t subject matter that would appeal to a widespread audience (the one I cite in particular as a “not good” script is All the King’s Men…that had the potential to be a fantastic movie, but had all kinds of problems).
Two actors that I usually note that fall into the same mode as Jude as far as box office versus talent are Johnny Depp and Daniel Day Lewis…
Depp didn’t have a blockbuster until he was 40 (POTC), and most of his 20 or so movies prior to that didn’t make big money…some hardly any at all.
Day Lewis is in his 50s, among his 17 films, has never made big office…none over 100 million…and most haven’t made any money.
All three of these men are terrific actors who have made movies that I have really enjoyed, even the ones that weren’t big BO draws. I tend to like those kind of movies a lot…but that’s just me, I know.
Anyway, thanks for talking! I’m REALLY feeling longwinded tonight…I’m going to try to hush, though.

Blackworm, Gattaca made me fall in love with Jude! Even I didn’t know his name back then. But those green eyes haunted my soul for days…they still do.
There are few thoughts of yours that are similar with mine. Like I always say, a film is a work of art. We shall stop appreciate them by numbers. Some like it, and some don’t.
But for Jude, I will appreciate any numbers he gives me. His cell phone numbers for example…..
rien, Yes, I remember those eyes in Gattaca. They were haunting. I’m not sure exactly what thoughts I had that were similar to yours but I just see films that look interesting to me for the most part. The ones that I hear about that are supposed to be #1 at the box-office usually have no appeal to me. And I don’t like a lot of CGI.
Ah, for a start, you and I like Gattaca (without this film, I would not know Jude). Second, my opinion about blockbuster stuff is quite similar with yours.
About CGI, I don’t have problem as long as they serve the story. And since I like Edward Norton too, I will face CGI, since he plays in The Hulk. And my Gary Oldman played in Harry Potter. So, I have to face CGI a lot.
But mostly, the films that attracted me more are the one without CGI. I just watched Noel and it was free from CGI. Or about a week ago (or more) , I watched Close My Eyes, with Clive Owen, it was also without CGI. And then two days ago, I watched Closer with Clive and Jude. CGI - free.
So, we have three thoughts in common. Stay a little bit longer, who knows we will have more thoughts in common… ;-)
Yes, I don’t think that I always like science fiction but I did like Gattaca. Very moving at the end.
I’m like you, CGI is OK if it serves the story. But I usually prefer movies without any or very little. There are some that I like though. I liked Iron Man. I will probably see Hulk. I can’t miss Edward Norton(fabulous actor. I love him). I’ve seen all the Harry Potter films. But I am ashamed to say that I have never read the books so I think that I don’t really fully enjoy the movies like people that read the books do.
I don’t know Noel or Close My Eyes. I will have to look for them. I do Netflix so I’ll put them in my queue. I like to watch movies that people recommend to me.
I liked Closer. I think I even mentioned in an earlier post that I haven’t seen Jude Law in anything since that movie. All I ever hear about him is tabloid gossip.
Noel is a very touching story with Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz, etc. You will be surprise to see Paul Walker there. He can act, if he is allowed!!
Close my eyes, …you have to have an open mind. Because it is about forbidden love between brother and sister. But beautiful and heart-breaking. I am addicted to love (sound like the song of Robert Plant). What can I say?
I can only recommend you to read the HP books. But, don’t expect the films to be the same. They are different medium. I love Ron Weasley. For me, he is the real hero. To change and to win over Hermione is a difficult task. More difficult than to slain a dragon!!
And about tabloid, forget it. It doesn’t represent the Jude Law that we (me and my sisters) adore and know, not even remotely!
Thank for the movie recommendations. I don’t know anything about Jude Law. I just see him in the magazine tabloids sometimes when I’m getting my hair done and I guess I see him on the internet in entertainment gossip sometimes and maybe on TV when showbiz gossip is being reported. I’m not a gossip junkie but it’s hard not to see and hear it these days. It’s basically impossible to know what is true and what is not. I guess there’s probably a little of both.
That’s the trouble with these gossip sites. there is more attention paid
to these salacious stories some of which hae no basis in truth what-
soever and some start off with a grain oif truth and get built up in a
mountain of lies. It’s very hard for the average veiwer to know the truth.
But that’s what these sites count on and they never apologize when they are wrong. It’s frustrating for a performaner. They dont talk about
movies unless they get paid for the advertising but they’ll ruin some
ones life or career for nothing with their lies. You don’t even know that
Jude has appeared on the stage many times and will do HAMLET in
2009 in London, has appared in close to 30 films and won all kinds of
awards and nominations and is foremost a terrific actor but always
grabs you for a second look because at the same time he is an extra-
ordinarily handsome and sexy man sometimes that overshadoes his
accomplishments. His loyal fans tr y to get the message across.
I don’t know what you mean by the “average viewer” . How does anyone know what is true and what is not? The only person that knows is the person being written about. It seems to me it’s all a big game played by both the tabloids(newspapers, magazines, TV, internet sites) and the celebrities themselves. You can’t believe any of them. The publicists are always issuing statements but they are lies just as much as the tabloids.
It’s not the tabloid’s job to report on movies, plays, or awards. They report gossip and they make tons of money doing so. That includes any pictures that they have whether they be good, bad or neutral.
It sounds like you are a big Jude Law fan. I’d be willing to bet that you love it when Jared has nice flattering pictures of Jude with a nice flattering story. Those are the same photographers and the same sources that supply the pictures of Jude in not so flattering positions like being groped by Kimberly Stewart.
If you buy a magazine or a tabloid newspaper or watch a tabloid television show or click on Just Jared or any other gossip site you are supporting the tabloid gossip industry and they report on what their cusomers will pay to read or listen to. They do not care if they ruin lives or careers. And I think they report the truth as much as they report lies. So if careers and lives are ruined these celebrities need to look in the mirror.

Transition? I was having a pleasant conversation with rien and then I get this lecture on how the tabloids tell lies about everybody and everything and only experts (like herself) know the difference.
I’ve read Sandy’s posts before and I find them condescending and not worth reading.
I don’t think anyone really knows anything much about any of these celebrities. Everything Sandy and any other “average viewer” knows is what is manufacured by the tabloids or the celibritiy’s publicists. Even television interviews are all an act. These people are always “on” in front of the cameras.
If Sandy thinks she is the true expert on whatever her favorite celebrity is and she knows all about them and what is in their heart and their mind and their soul then she is dead wrong. Because she doesn’t know any of them. It’s all in her little fantasy as she sits in front of her computer in her dead quiet home all alone.
It is somehow difficult to tell the difference between lies or fact on tabs or gossip site like this. Naturally, they will choose the “news” that serve their main goal.
But I myself, as a viewer (I don’t know if I am an average or not), I mostly ignore them. I love to see the pictures, as long as they don’t trespass the border of privacy, and give comment from time to time. Do I believe them? Mostly not. I have reason not to buy tabs, and one of them, is there are too many private story that shall be kept secret.
I try to use my brain as often as I could, knowing myself, I am a high voltage person. So, I try to chew the news, before I spill my gut
Some point I agree with you, Blackworm. If the career or lives of celebrities are ruined by all the gossips, then they shall look in the mirror. May be all this shiny and blasting performance has nothing on the back ground.
Somehow, I believe it is not the case with Jude. The one that I love, will be big and strong, that’s what Ella Fitzgerald said. And I said that for Jude. He will be big and strong.
Behind the mask of beauty (which I don’t give any attention, except his eyes), there is a good actor, who has massive problems with himself. And I hope, he will be strong enough to go through right to it.

everybody comes onto a celebrity site for different reasons. i’m a huge jude law fan…so looking at his videos, photos etc., give me great pleasure….

.years back the press didn’t invade the privacy of stars the way they do today. ….between you and me it was better then.
no matter what your job, actor, shoemaker, computer operator i don’t think it’s right to constantly invade the privacy of any human being..celebrity or not. it goes against my grain….. these days it’s a must, because the public loves a little blood a little dirt. when i go on a jude law fan site, this or any other,. it is with affection for jude. so we all come for different reasons. if the press or other people deride him it never changes my opinion. i’m one of these people…if i like you it’s for many different reasons and i’m loyal. ….no one’s perfect and i don’t judge for that reason.
jude became an actor because he wanted to act……when he was young and started out i don’t think he gave much thought about the tabloids and the consequences. he just wanted to act. but these are the times we live in and it’s one of the down sides of his chosen career.
The last time I checked this was the Just Jared web site. Jared reports information he gets straight from tabloid sources. It would be my assumption that this website is financially supported by tabloids since there is no advertising here. This is not the Jude Law website.

You say you’re a senior. If you mean senior citizen, the only thing I know to say is I am a long way from being a senior and I really don’t know what that has to do with anything.
i was referring back to the 40’s, 50. 60.’s you know my friend we will all at some time or another get to be seniors. no shame to that….right……
Well, it ain’t the ’40s, 50’s and 60’s anymore. Like I said this is 2008. And I still don’t know what you being a senior and me not being a senior has to do with anything that we’re talking about.

comprehend what i’m trying to say. i’m sorry but i see no point in pursuing this conversation. i’m sure you’ll want to have the last word but for me the conversation is over.
About this tabloid thing…to be honest, I don’t really see Jude in any American magazines much, negatively anyway…the last time I saw him in a mag was when they had the pic of him on the beach in Florida when he was shooting Mambo scenes.
I was in a drugstore today, and of all the mags at the counter, all I could see is Angelina & Brad and some nanny telling stuff about them (I didn’t buy it or read it…not interested), Jennifer Aniston, Tom & Katie, Britney, pretty standard fair…I don’t see Jude on them…so to me, if anyone’s careers should be eclipsed by their tab exposure, I think these people are way up on that list. Although, I can see the Kimberjude thing being tab-worthy…but that’s pretty much all he’s given them “scandal-wise” (and I’m using that loosely) since Sienna…unless I’m forgetting something. And I don’t want to bring the Kimberjude thing up, I’m just talking tabs here…so please don’t respond to me about Kimberjude.
I’m sure that in Britain, however, his actions are of much higher interest for whatever reason, and he makes their mags more often…but again, he hasn’t seemed to have given them much of anything…he’s got Sadie there, though, and Sienna, and he’s pretty much mentioned in a lot of stuff out there about them, lest we forget that they were once his girls (LOL).
Where I mostly see stuff about him is among on-line tab news or blogs, and that’s me searching for it, it’s not as if it jumps out at me.
So that’s my take on the tab stuff. I think Jude’s been very good at being low key since Siennajude went their separate ways and that died down…it’s just funny now how all the attention/speculation that was lavished on Siennajude is now on Rhysienna…you know, are they engaged, aren’t they…are they getting married here, there, whatever…hmmmmm…and who’s the common denominator?
For Belinda and Auntie, wherever you are, Jude’s girls, I do hope you read this:

The reason you have not seen me post in the several days is that I
have been traveling and wil be doing so for the next month. i want to
clear up a few things that obviously need straightening out.
Firstly I want to thank Daphne, Erica, Sheryl and Delores for being the
loyal friends they are and standing up for me when it became
necessary. I do not insult or attack people on any board. When people
who are new ask questions I try to give them the most truthful and
honest anwer I know. Apparently that’s not good enough for some people. A’verage viewer did not turn out to be a difficult concept for
most people to understand. Average is in the middle and viewer range runs from fans to those who don’t know who he is at all. Why
that should not be understood is a mystery to me as it was to others.
There was absolutely no reason to attack me and I can not let that go
by. Just because you have a special name for the internet and are
not identified with a picture on here doesn’t mean that you have the right to take an offensive and insult me. I did not do that to you and I
don’t ever go on the offensive to insult others. Misunderstandings seem to come up fairly often and civilized people usually discuss it
and solve the problems amicaby then and there. I expect the same
good manners you should give in any other social situation to be given on the internet.
As for telling me that Jude is responsible himself for all the bad things we see in the tabloids I could give you direct lists ofa all the outright lies (why do you think the taboids pay out millions of dollars
in libel suits each Year?) Not all these’tabloids’ are the same. If y ou consider Jared a ‘tabloid’ I have to defend him b ecuase he makes a
serious effort to get to the truth. Over the years I and another friend of
mine hav been consulted personally by Jared for our total
knowledge about Jude to clarify information he was putting on this site. And I am sure he does not do that only for Jude. That’s why we are very supportive of Jared and will always be. Sometimes he doesnt get a correction before it has to go to being put out online. You woud have to follow very carefully to know if everything was being used and what was being discarded. You said you didn’t know
much about Jude but you accused me in blind statements of things
you admitted not knowing anythng about.
I felt compelled to stop this duplicity and to let you know that this is the last time I will ever discuss anything with you or comment on any
thing you say but I strongly suggest you be more careful next time, if
there is one.

This is my last post.
This past week I have learned a very valuable lesson about people. Someone mentioned “I don’t think it’s right to constantly invade the privacy of any human being” That is a very accurate and powerful statement in my opinion. Whether or not you are a celebrity. Good or bad, gossip is gossip.
This week I read an article about you that said you dislike the paparazzi. The article also said that you dislike it when people talk about your looks. Lastly it said that you prefer to live a private life.
From this moment on I will respect your wishes. No more video’s, no more imdb, no more Just Jared (although Just Jared is a most respected website and I will surely miss the wonderful pictures)
That said I wish you Jude Law, Just Jared and everyone who visits this website a very happy and healthy life.

I will add, though, that my post about tabs wasn’t for the purpose of “taking sides” on anything anybody else was “discussing,” I was merely sharing my an observation I’ve made…I don’t want that to be misinterpreted.

I “talked” to Sandy often enough and read her opinions many time, I don’t know from where do you get the idea, but Sandy is not what you described. How could you tell that, only by reading her opinion now? Is it not what you called biased view?

Thank you rien for your kind and observant words. I suspet there is
someone who doesn’t like my opinion about certain subjects
and in bully fashion thinks this is the way to attack me. I also think the
few different people who do this are one ane the same personl.Since
I feel strongly about the things I say about Jude (mostly just loaded with love) and the things I say about the tabloids (whom I detest and there are plenty who share my opinion, including Jude) I am totally
unaffected by what people say. why would I waste my time even
thinking about it.?. Not when I can spend my time thinking about Jude
or watching the picture collection or videos.. Thanks again rien, I
value my friends as you know and we all rally around for each other.
But we are not robots and each have different ways of saying and
doing things. Judes’ gals all understand and appreciate each other.
