Michelle Williams: New York in Cannes
Wearing a strapless purple-tiered gown, Michelle Williams joins costars Catherine Keener and Samantha Morton at the premiere of their new movie, Synecdoche, New York, at the Palais des Festivals during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Friday in Cannes, France.
“It actually does feel kind of special to have two films at the same time,” Michelle said. “The film [Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island, which she's currently filming in Boston] was sweet enough to let me come here and enjoy it.”
The 27-year-old actress added: “[It's] something you can look back on at the end of your life and think, ‘That was a cool thing I did when I was 27.’ ”

It’s good to see this brave woman handling the separation from Ledger, then his untimely death. The daughter is a spitting image of her dad, so it must be really difficult for Williams to be reminded of Ledger. She is slowly adjusting and in silence mourn the death of Heath Ledger. She faces the future with such optimism. She does not want to be portrayed as a victim. No pity party for this talented actress.

She is also a confident woman - as far as skills goes - she is able to tackle controversial characters, and leaves those hohum roles to others. What confidence that she walks with pride as a single actress at red carpet events. She does not need a man to feel her worth as a woman. No need for PR, a sanitized biography and an all out publicity campaign.

Hollywood’s younger supposed stars ie Lindsey Paris and even to a lesser degree Britney could all learn from Ms Williams. She is graceful elegant and classy. No doubt it has been tough for her since losing Heath but she carries herself very well and I am sure Matilda is loved and very well taken care of.

how is she classy when she is a witch to her fans? her movie “Deception” was attacked by critics and it tanked so bad with only 2 million at the box office. Even with stars Hugh jackman and McGregor cant draw in audiences to watch it.
But “Synecdoche N.Y.” is getting mostly positive reviews. Some films are liked by critics some not, happens to the best actors.
As for the fan site, the OWNERS chose to shut it down!
To clarify what happened once and for all. The site posted pictures they weren’t supposed to, Michelle’s lawyer asked them to put them down, the owners, probably pissed, chose to close the fan site instead.
That’s what happened!

Why is it her film that tanked. Female actresses aren’t known for drawing audiences, but it seems it is always their fault when a film tanks like Nicole Kidman and others. YET these films have bankable and recognizable male actors in them. Why isn’t it their fault the film tanks. Male actors, traditionally, are the ones that draw film goers to the box office. Maybe it is the male leads that are tanking, yet no one ever says the film was a bomb because of the director, the script, or the male actors–it always seems to be the female actress’s fault.

Why is it that ‘Angie’ fans feel the need to go on every thread where positive posts are being made about another female actress and spread their vile. It happens again and again on this site, it’s like a sickness ….very disturbing. They’re blinded by jealousy maybe…what’s the point in commenting at all, I don’t get it.

MIchelle has the best fashion sense. Does anyone remember her canary yellow Oscar dress when she and Heath were up for Brokeback Mountain? It was so orignal yet classic. That was one of the best Oscar looks ever.

“Beautiful but sad”. Michelle has always looked that way even before she was with Heath. She’s a shy lady.

I love her looks, she does not wear fake tan, nice make-up and a natural shade of blonde, she is so much better than all those half wit actresses who play stupid roles. Matilda is so pretty and looks just like her dad, i think michelle still loved heath as he is the father of her child and his death was so sudden.:( anyway love michelle and she has more talent in her little finger than people like Lindsay Lohan have in her whole body!
