Natalie Portman attends the annual Cannes party thrown by designer pair Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana at Baoli, Port Canto during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Friday in Cannes, France.
The 26-year-old Cannes jury member wore a cute paillettes-embellished Lanvin shrug over her Balmain LBD and accessorized with a Chanel satin bow bag and Te Casan shoes.

I like it, yes its different but i think she looks good, I liked her in the white look she was just in as well.
She needs to call scarlett up about picking bright shoes to wear with clothes. scarlett gets it right. those look like slippers from the front and dont blend with the outfit. i dont mean colorwise. i mean they just dont look good with it.
Natalie looks as uncomfortable as Alanis did in her pics. I think natalie knows that outfit looks crappy. maybe her luggage got lost.
Dress is good, shoes are good — but not together. The hair is just plain awful.

Natalie is being a bit whimsical with the purple shoes but, STILL IN GOOD TASTE! I think she looks like she is having fun and for a petite girl she has long legs! She has great looking legs! Cute girl! She looks like she is glowing and happy. Good for Nat!

Why is this girl part of the Jury again? Isn’t acting a requirement? This girl looks so common if the lights/make-up/nose jop/lip reduction surgery aren’t faking it for her. Blah, but at least it makes her little boy body look more normal.

The shoes are fine, it’s the mirror balls on her shoulders which are the problem. Also, I prefer her hair the way she had it in the white dress.

The dress is nice - should have been worn on its own. The jacket is too ridiculous to be chic, the shoes are hideous.

Natalie is such a natural beauty, unlike anyone in Hollywood she looks wonderful with make up or without. She also has the most beautiful body among all the young actresses. She actually has the body of a beautiful professional ballet dancer. I think ballet dancers have the most beautiful bodies. As to the surgeries, I understand that Natalie Portman never had any surgeries in her life cosmetic or medically necessary. Some people are just very mean and stupid like @20.
Natalie is on the jury at Cannes because she represents the young generation of actors, and who could do it better than an Academy award nominated Harvard grad. Not only is she an A-list actress, she is also very intelligent, knowledgeable and experienced.
Not every one knows that, so may be you should read her biography first before making any ignorant comments.
If Natalie wore matching shoes she would still look gorgeous but not as much fun, I think the shoes add some cuteness and youth to the look.
I like her choice of the purse and shoes, after all, she is only 26.
Natalie could wear a paper bag with accessories by Flip-Flops and i would think she was totally beautiful!!! So I’m the last person you should ask! Did you know she will have a birthday in the first part of June? She and Paris Hilton are about the same age. Ditto Britney Spears.
This look comprises youthful elegance and fun. Love it, she is taking all kinds of chances at Cannes, which only she can pull off. What an amazing girl. A judge at Cannes at her age, can you imagine how her parents feel, I would have liked to have a daughter like that.
I don’t think the shoes go with the outfit, it looks…odd.
