I think it is great. They are a large family.

I know they have a lot of kids, but 35 bedrooms?! Excess, much? The holier than thou aura is wearing a little thin.

Honestly, I’m not buying this. Between the two of them AJ and BP already have plenty of homes all over the world–why would they, much less ANYONE, need a home with 35 bedrooms on a 1,000 acre compound? If and when they settle I bet it will either be in New Orleans or NYC.

I read the French source of this story with my rusty French and it said they are LEASEING/RENTING THIS, NOT BUYING. Leave it to to tabs/blogs to rewrite the truth if that is even the truth.

Who the hell cares if this is indeed true? It’s their money and they have it to spend if they choose. Honestly, I doubt the house is worth that much, now the 100 acres? Potentially. Privacy costs and with them being as tracked as they are I wouldn’t blame them for buying the land. All that said, until/unless they confirm it’s a mute point.

Whichever the case, if true, this will just be another home for the Jolie Pitts just like LA and NO. With their lifestyle they’ll put it to use and real estate is always a great investment.

1. They get to and stay in New Orleans when their work schedules allow. Hard to be there when Brad has to work in New York, LA, and Smithville Texas. Is Angie supposed to go there and hang back while Brad works in other places? They’ve said they don’t separate their family and travel together.

2. Isn’t it true Angelina hasn’t stepped on a movie set since December? If so, how has she violated her ‘vow’ to take off for a year? She hasn’t ‘worked’ since her last film late last year. Since then the only thing she’s done is a few interviews for her upcoming movies. She doesn’t have any film work slated for this year (AS is not starting until next year, if it even does then). WTF are you talking about? LOL

Nah, I don’t believe this…if it is true, then they could never fund-raise and be taken seriously…could you imagine heating and cooling cost on a mommafooka this size?…maintenance and upkeep?…It would be the single most worse investment to pay such a price with their humanitarian and environmentally efforts…not to mention too much to drop on a single property even with their combined incomes…now, if they could get the property for say for a third of that then, that would be better even though the other cost will eat them up…after all, they aren’t billionaires…I don’t seriously see them put that many eggs in one basket…umpf!

For those so quick to judge, a couple of things to consider:
1. Just because it’s reported doesn’t mean it’s true!
2. Even if they have spent $60 mill for a house - if they donated $5 mill to charity, that is still 1/12th the value of the property!!!
If Sara & others find that so offensive, does that mean you give more than 1/12th the value of your house to charity? Right - I bet NOT!
3. Even if Angie did say she would take a year off, she has the right to change her mind without any consultation with the public, especially loonies like you! Are you the truth police or something???

Hens are looking for anything to justify whiny’s lack of involvement in various causes. It is easier to sit on a blog an whine about others, harder to get out there and do something. KFP was made in 2006, Angie did a week of voice over work.

Most people rename their adopted children as it is a way of making them part of the family. Do some research and find facts before opening your mouth and letting ignorance out. Meg Ryan renamed her daughter twice after adopting her, where is your fake outrage over that?

Their children have both a mother and a father. Just because you want to ignore that reality, pretend Brad is not an equal part of the family, does not change the truth. It was Brad who told Larry King in Dec 2007, their rule is the family stays together, while one parent works the other stays with the kids, and that is exactly what has happened since they got together in 2005. They take turns working unlike many couples who forge ahead with their career regardless of what it does to the family.

I highly doubt they plunked down $60MIL for this piece of property. Together they’re probably worth in the neighborhood of $250MIL - with $200MIL of that being Brad’s money. And it’s not like that’s all in cash. He would most likely have to sell other properties and businesses to raise that kind of cash…or take out a loan. And I can’t see either of them, with 6 kids, more in the furture, charities to support, etc., putting 1/4 of their assets in one property. That’s not sound business sense because if they wanted to sell it in the future - who’s going to buy it? LOL. This whole story is stupid. LIke I said earlier - leasing it? Maybe for the duration of the summer, not long-term…and definitely not purchasing…

You are so wrong. This does not sound like either of them. Brad has paid cash for his properties in the past. The most expensive house he ever bought was the Malibu home (not counting the BHills home he and the X bought and he renovated for 2 years and then moved out of ASAP, even that home they split the profit on as Brad’s agent was the one who found a buyer for that big empty house).

The compund where Brad and Angie and family live in Los Feliz (LA) is composed of 3 modest now renovated homes Brad purchased before he married the X and she refused to live there. Brad made a statement a couple of weeks ago when a parking situation arose near those homes, and said he had lived there off and on since 1996. Their compound is not in ritzy BHills or BelAir like TomC’s $35 million new home.

Brad has been frugal with home purchases as has Angie.

THE first movie trailer for Brad Pitt’s new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has surfaced on the internet, amid talk of the film to be a future contender for an Oscar.

The film sees Pitt as an 80-year-old man, who falls in love with a woman played by Cate Blanchett.

The trailer comes as Angelina Jolie is said to be upset after a video of her in a New York drug den discussing her experiences with drugs and admitting that she killed her childhood pets was last week exposed by a British tabloid.
The actress, who recently confirmed that shes pregnant with twins; and is currently in Cannes to promote her new childrens film Kung Fu Panda, has previously admitted to to trying everything from cocaine to ecstasy, LSD and heroin.

And the tape, which is alleged to have been taken eight years ago, has brought back some pretty unpleasant memories for the Hollywood superstar.

Jolies partner, Brad Pitt, was, until last week, unaware of the tapes existence.

A source said: “The timing couldnt be worse, particularly as shes here to talk about a kids film. We have known for a while that this video has been on the market and it seemed like the threat of it being released had gone away.”

ROME, Italy: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are treating themselves to an Italian luxury yacht fitted with a swimming pool, a heliport and a submarine.

The yacht will be built in the shipyard of Civitavecchia, a port town north of Rome, by luxury shipbuilder Privilege Yard SpA, which said Wednesday that the couple has commissioned an 85-meter-long (280-foot-long) yacht for €200 million (US$268 million). Delivery is set for July 2009.

New York City’s Waldorf Towers, located next to the tony Waldorf Astoria hotel, boasts both those qualities, making it the home of choice for both heads of state and Hollywood royalty. Its newest reported residents: pop culture king and queen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that Pitt and Jolie have moved into an apartment in the Towers, citing anonymous sources. According to the Post, the couple also considered a residence in the newly built Time Warner Center but picked the Waldorf because they got a price break on the apartment.

Representatives for the Waldorf Towers declined to comment on the Post’s story, saying in a statement, “We do not comment on our guests in any capacity so as to respect their privacy while staying with us.”

Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not immediately return phone calls or e-mail messages.

But people familiar with the needs of New York City’s elite agree that the Towers are a natural choice for the A-list couple. It boasts a sought-after zip code, fortress-like security and centuries of prestige — past residents of the Towers include President Herbert Hoover and musician Cole Porter. What more could Brad and Angie want?

This chateau has a recording studio set up by one of its previous owners and Pink Floyd recorded The Wall there.

It’s owned by American Tom Bove who bought it in 1993. He has rebuilt the vineyards and produces award winning wines.

I highly doubt that there was a sale here. The lease sounds more like it. May just be a summer lease.

That effort will include four other single-family homes, an 18-unit apartment building and a community center.

For Matt Petersen, Global Green president and chief executive officer, and Beth Galante, New Orleans Global Green executive director, the grand opening was not just a landmark in the Holy Cross project, but also in the organization’s history. After more than two years spreading the green word in New Orleans, the environmental nonprofit is seeing its dreams of a sustainable future for the city start to materialize.

And it’s more than just the two-story house: From unprecedented state and federal solar tax credits to a tipping point in residents’ Road Home finances, Galante said she believes New Orleans is poised to make sustainable rebuilding a major part of the city’s recovery.

“Year one was crisis management. Year two was planning, and now, as we’re getting into year three, it’s action,” Galante said. “People are making decisions.”

It’s amazing what Brad Pitt can do with his bum.

A chair in which he rested his high-priced tuckus for months on the Alberta set of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is about to help raise money — again — for people dying of AIDS in Africa.

“He is very much into this compassionate type of work,” says Darlene Fach, who previously bought the chair at an auction in 2006 to benefit the same hospice and palliative care program in Litein, Kenya.

The tall, black canvas chair is posted on eBay with a minimum bid of $3,000. It’s known as a director’s chair, but every main actor on a movie set has his own director’s chair in which to relax during long hours on set.

While many take their chairs as a memento, Pitt was eager to donate his to charity. When approached by a Calgary crew member about the opportunity, he happily signed the back: “Thanks for caring, BP.”

Although she always planned to donate it back to the charity, Fach says the chair has brought a lot of joy to her family.

“I let my granddaughter have it for a year because she’s such a big Brad Pitt fan,” says Fach. “She had it at home and her friends would come over and enjoy the chair — it’s a conversation piece — and people would just come over and enjoy it. It’s fun to sit in.”

Still, at the end of that year Grandma came to collect.

“That was the deal,” says Fach. “At the end of that year she had to give it back.

“She always knew it would go back to charity.”

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their brood may be saying bien-venue to France!

The duo – who set up a temporary home in Namibia in 2006 in anticipation of the birth of Shiloh, 21 months – have made an offer on an 850-year-old stone house in Eygalieres, in the country’s Provence region, a real estate source tells Us Weekly, in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

Pitt and Jolie – who has taken her baby bump everywhere from Texas to Baghdad – originally looked at the $20 million, fully renovated structure (official name: Mas de la Chapelle St. Sixte) last year, the source tells Us, but lost interest when they learned Pitt, 44, would not be given consent to build a motorbike circuit on the five-acre garden.

“As soon as they found out it was now possible, they jumped at the chance,” the source tells Us.

The couple may be eyeing the home as a place to settle after Jolie – whose mother was of French Canadian descent – gives birth to her next baby (she is due in early summer).

Jolie, 32, has had “long conversations” with the American Hospital of Paris about delivering there, a second source tells Us.

“Angelina knows all about our reputation,” says the hospital source. “She is certain she’d be happy giving birth here.”

Jolie has been spending time in Austin, Texas while Pitt films Tree of Life nearby.

The dollar wasn’t the only thing hurting at this year’s disappointing Cannes Film Festival, which wrapped on Sunday with the festival’s highest honor, the Palme d’Or, being awarded to the French film, The Class. (See a full list of winners.)

This year’s main competition, featuring 22 films (including four by American directors), was generally considered a less than thrilling year, with only a few outstanding films, including Clint Eastwood’s Changeling, and a couple outright stinkers.

The Class, directed by Laurent Cantet (Heading South), is based on a real life memoir about a dedicated teacher instructing a multi-cultural mix of students in a school in Paris. In picking the film for Cannes’ top prize, jury foreman Sean Penn and his fellow jurors (including Natalie Portman) opted for a movie dealing with contemporary societal issues – just as Penn had said he would at an opening day press conference – over artier or more commercial fare.

Only two Hollywood notables took home prizes: Benicio Del Toro collected a Best Actor award for playing Communist revolutionary Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara in Che, and director Clint Eastwood, whose period drama Changeling showed at Cannes, was given a special lifetime achievement award.

Other highlights and lowlights from Cannes:

• Clint Eastwood impressed with Changeling, a powerful drama based on a true story about a mother (vehemently played by Angelina Jolie) whose young son disappears from her Los Angeles home in 1928. When the police return him months later, she insists the boy is not her son. The film gradually broadens to cover a wide canvas (police and government corruption) but without sacrificing its intimate focus on one mother’s determination to find her child. The film is expected to open in late fall.

The look on Brad face was only for Angelina,I have never seen it before because Angelina is the only woman who’s pregnant with his child.Brad was very protective,always looking at every step Angelina was taking,it was very sweet and hot.I was looking at a video on page 220 at jjb and everyone will understand why he was so protective.
