Throw celebrities or high-profile politicos into the mix and there’s another factor that’s just as important: security, security, security.

New York City’s Waldorf Towers, located next to the tony Waldorf Astoria hotel, boasts both those qualities, making it the home of choice for both heads of state and Hollywood royalty. Its newest reported residents: pop culture king and queen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that Pitt and Jolie have moved into an apartment in the Towers, citing anonymous sources. According to the Post, the couple also considered a residence in the newly built Time Warner Center but picked the Waldorf because they got a price break on the apartment.

Representatives for the Waldorf Towers declined to comment on the Post’s story, saying in a statement, “We do not comment on our guests in any capacity so as to respect their privacy while staying with us.”

Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not immediately return phone calls or e-mail messages.

But people familiar with the needs of New York City’s elite agree that the Towers are a natural choice for the A-list couple. It boasts a sought-after zip code, fortress-like security and centuries of prestige — past residents of the Towers include President Herbert Hoover and musician Cole Porter. What more could Brad and Angie want?

This chateau has a recording studio set up by one of its previous owners and Pink Floyd recorded The Wall there.

It’s owned by American Tom Bove who bought it in 1993. He has rebuilt the vineyards and produces award winning wines.

I highly doubt that there was a sale here. The lease sounds more like it. May just be a summer lease.

Here’s a brief history.

Miraval, sited close to the Via Aurelia - one of the five main roads radiating from Rome - has always occupied an important place in history.
First settled by the Ligurians and then by the Celts, who were in their turn driven out by the advancing Romans, Miraval first appears on a map in the 1200s when it was a monastery and attached to the Pignans Monastery.
In 1252, it seems probable that St. Thomas Acquinas broke his journey here en route to the University of Paris from the University of Naples.
In the 1400s the Prince of Naples joined the French Court and settled at Miraval. This was when the Domaine first appears in the Register of Noble Houses.
The Estate was in the hands of the Orsini family for centuries and then, at the turn of the twentieth century, Miraval was home to the celebrated inventor of reinforced concrete - Joseph Lambot.
In the 1970s Jacques Loussier, the well-known jazz pianist, created one of the world’s foremost recording studios - Studio Miraval - where many great musicians including Pink Floyd, Sting, Sade and the Cranberries have all recorded their music in idyllic surroundings

Great! If it’s true. The kids will go to a local school and soon they’ll be chatting in French! It’s good to be at least bi-lingual from childhood.

If there is any truth to this, they probably are renting it for a few months. I really don;t think they would spend this kind of money on a house.

No doubt Brad and Angelina’s life style looks incredibly expensive - all those $100k a week apartments or private jets and body guards. But most of that is paid for by the movie producers, studios etc..

Have you noticed that since Shiloh was born, 80% of their holiday travel is tied in with work of some sort - be it promotion or filming. They add on days before or after the work for holidays. The private jet to Cannes for example, - paid for by KFP, Changeling. Private Jet to Venice later - paid for by BAR. Stay in NY $100K apartment - paid for by BAR. Trip to Prague - paid for by wanted. Trip to Cannes in 2007, paid for by AMH and O13. Holiday trip to Central America - tied in with CCOBB.

And for this trip to Cannes, they are staying in the home of a friend, not a hotel. Personally, I smell a freebie here.

As for all those handbags Angelina carries?? I think many of those handbags are gifts from the Louis Vuitton or Hermes or whoever. If Angelina is seen carrying a particular handbag, there is a good chance that they will fly off the shelves, literally. Her clothes? Well, as she already said, Gwen GAVE her some. :lol:
