Natalie Portman Stripes Back
Natalie Portman looks stunning in Lanvin stripes at the closing ceremonies and premiere of What Just Happened? at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Friday in Cannes, Frances.

That dress is not flattering at all. It looked like she just shagged her boyfriend and quickly ripped off the bedsheets and tried to make it look like a dress.
Uh, I have to disagree with the statement that Natalie looks “Stunning.” The dress totally overpowers her, and it looks as though she has 1)been tp’d with brown and black tissue paper, or 2)she has a black leotard on with a few large bandaids covering her. I know she was amazing in the movie “Leon” (hope that’s the right name) but her acting is a bit valley girlish, (I know this isn’t really possible as she grew up in NY)
what about Kerry Washington? she in the photo too. she looks gorgeous

Oops. This was a miss. Too much dress for her petite frame. The hair and makeup are beautiful, though. Mila Jovovich’s dress is gorgeous. She’s statuesque enough to carry it. Actually, it looks like there were several beautiful dresses on that red carpet. Love all the color.

The Dress basically swallows her small frame giving her the potato look. Stunning is not what I would call the loook .. but to each his own
I like her acting skills and she’s a beautiful lady.. but in this particular I beg to defer on your “stunning” fashion sense. I don’t think that dress does anything for her…

It’s really strange. It’s like she ran out of dresses and had to borrow this and she didn’t have time to alter it to fit her. You can see that part of the dress was tucked under the bodice, probably an attempt to make it shorter. And in the full-body shots, you can see how long and ill-fitting that dress really is. I’m sorry - I just can’t get over that fact that she wore this to the final night; the big night as she’s a juror.

I personally love the striped dress…and yes, one has to be thin to pull it off…that she is, and that she can wear. But, the hair is still a mess…it’s not so hard to simply just pull back all of her hair sleekly..is it? Why the frizz ?
Secondly, I’m not much into Milla’s shiny dress, but she’s a model and knows how to work it.

I think she’d look great with short hair. She looks much nicer with it up than when she wears it out.
Not a fan of the striped dress, it has no real shape to it and swallows her up. I loved the ruffled white dress she wore and thought it was pretty but a bit too big on her.

I am totally confused as to why Natalie, an awful actress, is a judge. I wouldn’t even allow her to judge a high school play.

#45, she may not be the best actress, but she apparently has good taste, since she chose good movies. This year’s Palme d’Or is the french “Entre les murs”, and I’m very proud of my country today. It’s been 21 years since the last french movie received this great award. But you only seem to be interested in Milla’s ugly dress, so… I wonder why everybody is watching Cannes when they don’t care about movies!

You are absolutely right, I am sorry I did not think of it myself but thanks to Natalie we have some one young to represent us in Cannes as a judge, they could not have made a better choice.
Natalie is extremely talented, she could play an assassin and a queen before she was 20, she is very educated and intelligent and based on the films she made has in implacable taste. And do not forget she is very knowledgeable, she can have an intellectual discussion with any of her peers.
All jealous critics would have sent Paris Hilton.
Natalie stands out, she is very elegant but Mila is a bit too masculine for the dress.

Sorry guys, I’ve always loved her, but this time I have to say that she looks awful. I don’t like her make up she looks sooo old, and that dress!!! she couldn’t have pulled a worse dress than this one, ugly ugly ugly.

I haven`t seen such a wonderful and amazing dress like milla jovovich`s since penelope cruz oscars 2007 dress. I mean this versace dress was blow minded, i have never seen such an elegant milla jovovich she looks like and angel, she glows like no one else does it in that amazing dress and that beautiful necklace.. omg, she looks radiant, everything is perfect about her in this event, she was definately th best dressed in this year`s cannes. there is no doubt about it.

Milla Jovovich has the same hairline as Leonardo Di Caprio, she is sort of the female version of him really, in one of her films she made herself look like him. She isnt that well known though like him.
