OlderVanessa Hudgen’s “Identified” — FIRST REVIEW
Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Vanessa Hudgens‘ sophomore release, Identified, out July 1.
“[The album] is definitely sophisticated,” Vanessa says. “But it’s also funky and fun–something that I would, like, actually listen to.”
Here’s what EW had to say about three of the album’s tracks:
“Sneakernight” — The thumping first single “is a fun song about hanging out with your girlfriends and wearing sneakers,” says Hudgens, who’s no stranger to stiletto-induced red-carpet cramps. “When I show the video, I was like, ‘I cannot believe I’m wearing sneakers for the first time in a music video!’ It was awesome.”
“First Bad Habit” — Hudgens enlisted producer Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Pink) to pump synths into this sassy anthem “about when you like a hug so much but know he’s a complete a–hole.” Is said rapscallion like any particular man in her life? “It hasn’t happened to me, but a lot of my friends have gone through so much crap.”
“Gone with the Wind” — “And now I’m standing my ground/And who I am/For that I’m proud,” she declares in this stripped-down ballad. “I just kind of went for it…. The song basically means: I know a lot more, and that timidness and naïveté is gone with the wind.”

Malia, bless you. Your news is always good. And I totally agree with the rest. There is nothing wrong with Vanessa’s interview. She just felt she let on more than she should have. And yup, there were 2 cameras there. She was either looking directly at the one camera or someone beside it. Now, could it have been Zac, I wonder and was she just looking at him for reassurance? Hey, this is just speculation and not a fact.

I thought the same thing - you now how they tend to hang out together and I bet he was sitting over there - it seemed someone was there listening to the interview other than the interviewer??

That’s exactly what I was thinking too, Malia, because they did their interviews in the auditorium. Ashley did hers in a dressing room, wardrobe dept, or elsewhere. I’d be a little jiggy if Zac was hanging on every word I said!!
I loved how Ashley mentioned how great Troy and Gabriella’s songs were!! I can’t wait to hear them. Wonder if any will be as tear-jerking as “Gotta Go My Own Way”.
Looks like we all agree on the one thing, Zac and Vanessa were both present at each other’s interview. So that settles it.
Personally, I’m not so much interested in the storyline as in seeing my fav. duo dancing, twirling, dipping and singing their hearts out of sweet nothings to each other and of course, the kiss or kisses. No more misses this time and plenty of PDA. I know if I were the director, I’m going to make it one mushy big mess.
the LA Times is reporting Zac is back in LA for a few days - wonder if his “sidekick” is there with him??

Happy Saturday Boji! How’s the weather there in KL? we’ve been experiencing rain for a few days now,i think summer is almost over
for us, and school about to start.
The last event that Zac & Vanessa attended together was the Palm Spring.. If indeed he is going to MTV awards and bring Vanessa,
it will be wonderful.. keeping my fingers cross girlie!

Vanessa did really well in the interview and looked great and it sounds like they’re having a great time and nice to see her wearing the ring as well.
Loved Zac’s interview too as it’s been said he always mentions Vanessa and I for one can’t wait to see him and Vanessa do the old style dancing which is something that I thought we would never se in HSM but I dare say Kenny will do a brilliant job as always.
I agree also that Vanessa is still a bit guarded in in terviews becuase evrything she say’s always seems to get twisted into something else so I don’t blame her for thinking about her answers carefuly. But Zac is also still a bit like that to they both seem to be getting more comfortable to some degree.
They might go to the awards as even though it’s Zac who nominated that does’nt mean that Vanessa won’t go, I know he has gone solo before when it’s been to do with HS but the Palm Springs thing was and Vanessa went along with him for that as his date, so maybe they will get a weekend off to go to it we will know soon enough.
The opening number sounds too like it’s going to be great, can’t wait to see Coach Bolton.
