OlderVanessa Hudgen’s “Identified” — FIRST REVIEW
Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Vanessa Hudgens‘ sophomore release, Identified, out July 1.
“[The album] is definitely sophisticated,” Vanessa says. “But it’s also funky and fun–something that I would, like, actually listen to.”
Here’s what EW had to say about three of the album’s tracks:
“Sneakernight” — The thumping first single “is a fun song about hanging out with your girlfriends and wearing sneakers,” says Hudgens, who’s no stranger to stiletto-induced red-carpet cramps. “When I show the video, I was like, ‘I cannot believe I’m wearing sneakers for the first time in a music video!’ It was awesome.”
“First Bad Habit” — Hudgens enlisted producer Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Pink) to pump synths into this sassy anthem “about when you like a hug so much but know he’s a complete a–hole.” Is said rapscallion like any particular man in her life? “It hasn’t happened to me, but a lot of my friends have gone through so much crap.”
“Gone with the Wind” — “And now I’m standing my ground/And who I am/For that I’m proud,” she declares in this stripped-down ballad. “I just kind of went for it…. The song basically means: I know a lot more, and that timidness and naïveté is gone with the wind.”

Malia, you’re observant as usual, thanks. It is reassurring to know that these pathetic souls have not only targetted Vanessa.
A random thought here. Just watched the 4mins video. What makes it a hit is not so much madonna’s and justin’s vocals but the producers, the fact that Timbaland is behind it, the special effects and the celebrity status and the media hype and promotion. There is really nothing exceptional about this song. If Vanessa had the same kind of back up she’ll do just as well.But productions like this do cost a lot and that is something she can’t afford unless she has financial backers. Maybe, if Zac puts in another cameo appearance, it’s sure to be winner.

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. She is in my prayers.
Just want to let you know that my Mom is a cancer survivor. She had a radical mastectomy of her right breast 17 years ago. My Mother is now 78 years old. Tell your friend don’t give up! Boji, God bless you for being such a good friend and let her know that she has people praying for her.

My concern with Zac making anymore cameos in Vanessa’s videos are that although we fans may (or may not) want this to happen- it could have an adverse reaction. I think that the media might unjustly label her as “using” his popularity/celebrity for her benefit. I know this to not be true, but it is a concern I have.
I think she can do this on her own. I know your suggestion was only one of optimism, and believe me I’d be just as happy if he were to appear-but I think Vanessa has strength in her performance and charisma to do this her way.

AAww, Tealeaf and Sara, bless your hearts, thanks for the kind words and encouragement. My friend is pretty resilient and yes, it’s always nice to have dependable and caring friends. She was my rock when I needed her. Want to share this with you. I had a car accident about 3 to 4 yrs ago, luckily, I was not hurt but badly shaken. My husband was outstation and out of desperation I called her and she took a cab and came to my rescue.It was traumatic for me as I was trembling and had to go lodge a police report, she helped me through with everything and has always been willing to assist me when she was available. I’m just glad I can do the same for her. It’s also nice to be in a giving position. Once again, thanks for your prayers. I know she’ll pull through.

listen, so the posts on “Ashley Tisdale is Bottled Up” are EXTREMELY harsh! i’m trying to put the haters in their place, but they’re just HORRIBLE! go on the Ashley thread & find what I’m looking for! the last page is the worst! i’d also appreciate it if i got back-up! all the haters are attacking ashley & the people trying to put them in their place! FYI, i’m not an ashley supporter what-so-ever, but she doesn’t deserve that kind of treatment! if you care about ashley at all, it would be greatly appreciated if you got in there. even if you dislike her i’m sure the posts will put a frown on your face, LOL :-(

As you know I tried to support her the other day on one of her threads but got in trouble with that by you. Most of those posters are very young and they really like to be nasty—unfortunately many kids are not out of school so the hate posts will only multiply. And as you informed me these kids are kids so I doubt any post from someone older will do any good—isn’t that pretty much what you told me? I’m not trying to get an argument started but I don’t think I will go to a site where there are young tweens just wanting to fight and be harsh. I doubt they actually know much about Ashley in the first place. Most of what they want to say is: poster #1–she’s so pretty and talented, poster #2–she’s completely ugly and has absolutely no talent, poster #1 comes back and proceeds to tell #2 she’s an idiot. Then there will be the discussion how Ashley is so much prettier and better than Vanessa where the next poster will say the opposite—well, you get my point, I’m sure.

it’s always nice to read the zac and vanessa threads and find so many mature, logical fans supporting them. it seems to me the little fighting kids have lessened as more mature fans post comments.
i’m not seeing as MANY of the “he’s so HOT!” and “she’s so beautiful.” or screaming for zanessa pics one minute after jj posts some. or the “she’s ugly.” “she’s fat.”
maybe the kiddies truly don’t comprehend the adult comments/discussions about zac and vanessa’s careers and have gone elsewhere to bash some other star. or maybe they have given up the ship and become jonas brothers fans. anyway, it’s a relief to see more adults posting.
zac and vanessa would be proud of you older fans.
In response to the “older fans” I am 16, and I am not saying “OMG HE’S LIKE SOOO HOTT” I do not follow under that category. I happen to appreciate Zac and Vanessa for who they are. I really enjoy everything they have done, and will do. I wish them the very best, and like both of them very much!

I was only reffering to the age thing, not about you supporting her. i’m truly sorry if you took anything personally, but i wasn’t getting angry with you. i was just annoyed at all the hate there & how some of the adults here bring out ages. i don’t reply to the types of statements you wrote above, because those are just plain juvenile. but, unfortunately, the main haters there aren’t that young. they’re mostly all older than i am. & i wasn’t trying to start an argument the other day, just so you know. i was just really getting irriatated. … again, sorry.

i know exactly what you mean! i’m actually fourteen & am a fan of zac & vanessa for the same reasons you are. :-) it really annoys me when some people here say that young teens don’t know what they’re saying or are immature. i can understand that w/ pre-teens, though. SOME pre-teens are immature, but it’s actually the younger kids who don’t exactly “know what they’re saying”. i don’t reply to the younger kids, & the only people i’ve gotten in arguments w/ were about all older than I am (even though some of them DID act like pre-teens & young kids)…

I agree. We should also give credit to a number of younger fans like Liz who actually display intelligence in their conversation. It’s great to see these on Zac and Vanessa threads. I’m proud to be a fan and supporter with like minded people.
I went over to Ash’s thread to see if I could post something positive, but honestly, even without the haters, the comments from her fans are pathetic, eternally bringing up Vanessa, as if they have nothing positive to say about Ash except in bashing Vanessa. I was tempted to tell off both fans and haters but in the end I decided to save my breath. I don’t mind Ash, I think she’s a nice girl but I’m not exactly a fan so I’m not really keen on debating with kids over her. It’s a pity her fans don’t give her much credit, she deserves better.
