Vanessa Hudgen’s “Identified” — FIRST REVIEW
Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Vanessa Hudgens‘ sophomore release, Identified, out July 1.
“[The album] is definitely sophisticated,” Vanessa says. “But it’s also funky and fun–something that I would, like, actually listen to.”
Here’s what EW had to say about three of the album’s tracks:
“Sneakernight” — The thumping first single “is a fun song about hanging out with your girlfriends and wearing sneakers,” says Hudgens, who’s no stranger to stiletto-induced red-carpet cramps. “When I show the video, I was like, ‘I cannot believe I’m wearing sneakers for the first time in a music video!’ It was awesome.”
“First Bad Habit” — Hudgens enlisted producer Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Pink) to pump synths into this sassy anthem “about when you like a hug so much but know he’s a complete a–hole.” Is said rapscallion like any particular man in her life? “It hasn’t happened to me, but a lot of my friends have gone through so much crap.”
“Gone with the Wind” — “And now I’m standing my ground/And who I am/For that I’m proud,” she declares in this stripped-down ballad. “I just kind of went for it…. The song basically means: I know a lot more, and that timidness and naïveté is gone with the wind.”

liz and vahnumba1fan:
I agree with Malia.
Also, vahnumba1fan: I posted the other night after your last post to me and I basically was saying what Malia said(my post ended up in moderation for some reason and then disappeared altogether and I didn’t have time to repost) as I do know there are teens—even young teens—who are not like so many on the Ashley threads. And you can tell those teens both who are more mature and those who are completely childish by the way they write. You know what I mean as you have spent enough time on the Ashley threads. There are and have been many teenagers your age on the Zac\Vanessa threads who have voiced very good opinions and they were highly regarded by us “oldies”.
However, there are times when us oldies mention age BECAUSE that fact does apply in what some of the posters write and how they think. We know this because even though we are old now, we were once young. Even though we may forget once in a while what that’s like, many of us remember some of those things very clearly and that’s why we make comment on those who are probably young. And just as we are old and remember what it was like to be young, you are(I mean all the younger posters) are young but you have never been old so you can’t possibly see some of the things we do.
But yes, some young people seem to be born “older”. But the type fights that have been going on at the Ashley “bottled up” thread are teens who are still very childish and inexperienced. Many of them are resentful o hearing from anyone “old” and that shows they are still too immature to really listen and gain any knowledge at this time. They are not ready to do so yet it would seem.
Naomi:
I agree with your post. After going to Ashley’s thread you can see the problem there.
As in my post the other night that I was referring to which got moderated, I tried to point out how there are many posters who have come here and gotten upset that nobody from this board ever goes to defend Ashley or some get mad because Ashley doesn’t get as many posts as Vanessa or as many threads. They get upset over these facts. However, what I wanted to point out, as long as such childish arguments are going on there will be very few people who are more mature and logical that will post there. It does no good because like was written previously, Ashley’s fan seem only to show their support by insulting Vanessa who isn’t even the person being written about. Then someone will post how wonderful Vanessa is and how they want more Zanessa, etc. This doesn’t support Ashley nor does it give the poster a new thread on Zac/Vanessa/Zanessa. Basically going to an Ashley thread is a big turnoff if you want intelligent exchange of ideas or opinions.
Boji,
I’m praying for your friend too, I hope she gets better. She sounds like such a nice person. It’s great that you can be there for her as well. It makes such a difference. My uncle is suffering from multiple melanoma and the highlight of his days of pain are visits from friends and family. At times like that, it’s good relationships that count.
Karen,
thank you! & i completely agree about the Ashley thread :-)
P.S. don’t worry about the post that disappeared, the same thing happened to me w/ 1 or 2 posts. why? no idea. but i understand it happened w/ some other posters on the thread, as well.
^ oops! i meant i agree w/ you buy the age thing, sorry! LOL.
vahnumba1fan:
Just answered some questions on Ashley’s thread, hope it helped and someone was not just trying to be “cute”. LOL And I’m sorry if I sound a bit suspicious in saying that.
Boji, I’m praying for your friend, too. A true friend is a treasure beyond compare.
vanessa is beautiful
so cute
Karen,
uhm… what do you mean? (hint, hint) LOL, just joking. what post are you referring to?? oh, you mean the one where i said thanks for the back-up?? no, i really meant that LOL. wait! i’m confused…
LOL, i know i sound dumb. … i wasn’t being sarcastic if that’s what you mean.
HAHA A COMPLETE A-HOLE THAT HAPPEND TO ME BEFORE NOT VERY FUN…………….NOW I HATE HIM,…………AND HAVEA NEW BF! HEH YAYA ME =]]
Hi, everyone! I was reading all the comments about how tough the posts are on Ashley’s thread and I have to agree!! It’s just brutal. I always stop in there, to support any of our HSM actors. But sometimes, it’s hard to read the comments….they’re so hateful. I honestly wish people would stick to talking about the subject of the thread, instead of bringing up other people!!
vahnumba1fan:
No, I wasn’t talking about your post on here or the Ashley thread. I should have made it more clear. On the Ashley thread some of those who were arguing had said they needed me to explain something and I did—although I really wasn’t sure they didn’t understand what I was talking about in the first place. I thought they might be just being sarcastic and that’s why I was suspicious. Nothing you said was taken, by me, as being suspicious or sarcastic. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
vahnumba1fan:
I assumed you were talking about my #208 post? Anyway, as I was saying I was suspicious of the ones on the Ashley thread saying they needed me to explain something I said—but perhaps they really didn’t understand.
i love vanessa
Karen,
oh, okay. i get it now, no worries LOL :-)

Tee and Naomi, thank you so much for your prayers. Hey, you posters are bringing tears to my eyes. You are such a caring lot. I’m so blessed and it’s always a pleasure to see y’all on here.
And a Hi to everyone else.
Karen, very wise words indeed. I totally agree with you on every aspect.
As Malia says, we welcome the young mature posters and enjoy reading your comments and sharing. It’s always refreshing to look at a younger person’s perspective of things.
The not so mature ones, you could learn alot from the rest and we do like to take the opportuntiy to teach them a thing or two, sorry.
As for the kids on the Ashley thread, it is just typical. Some of them could do with a spanking. We did have some here like what Karen has mentioned sometime ago, arguing for arguement’s sake and having fun as little kids do. Well, if I was their parent and found out what they were up to, boy, biiig trouble.
Anyway, I’ve gotta run and there’s a new thread of Ashley with Jared.
So sweet. You could go check it out and see what’s up.
Thanks again, for your prayers and encouragement. Love you all and have a Good Day!
A quick Hi to Go Sox, Hi there Angel.
Boji- “some of them could do with a spanking”
I am still laughing very hard over that comment! hehe
I was just in the Ashley thread… it’s a mess. People judge that girl VERY harshly. I like her just as much as Vanessa. They both have immense talent. Unfortunately, it seems as though negative comments prevail on her threads. I will try harder to bring positivity to her threads as well.

Never admired an actress before until now with Vanessa Hudgens.
A true heroine of how she handled an obstacles of which rather rewarded her with a stronger and more mature spirit to press on.
She is being bless with a loyal and understanding supporters.
God bless you Vanessa Hudgens.
LOL i love her! i hope its not all fluffly high school musical style songs this time though! still shes sooo cute how can you not love her
i love vanessa
jade - i didn’t see her on the list?
Evelyn,
I think that’s the list where she is #26—just behind Natalie Portman if I’m not mistaken. That list was up a few weeks ago and I had to go through the whole list to find Vanessa. Lol
Hi everyone ! I hope you guys are fine, because I personnally am (tomorrow’s my birthday).
Anyway, about the comment on Ashley’s thread: seriously, those guys keeping criticizing her about her clothes and stuff are, to me, immature and stupid. Really ! I personnally don’t like Ashley for many reasons but hey ! what happened with the respect ? I’m not able to understand those people going at someone who’s never done anything wrong to anybody as fiercely …
To talk about something else, I’m really excited about Vanessa’s sophomore album, cause it looks as if she’s grown a lot in this one … Can’t wait the release !
