David Cook Rocks the Big Apple
American Idol winner David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta arrive at a New York City airport and head over to their Big Apple hotel on Monday, Memorial Day.
Cook, 25, recently shared about his upcoming album: “It’ll probably be a rock record. I just want to make a record that’s going to make the hair on your neck stand up. Even if it doesn’t do well commercially, as long as I can put out a record I am proud of, that’s the goal right now. And hopefully the success will follow.”
And here are three more appearances Cook will be making in this week: Live with Regis & Kelly (Tuesday, May 27), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Wednesday, May 28) and The Today Show (Thursday, May 29).

I think much of DC is an act, but he carried it out so well on the show, he deserved to win over DA who just seems unready for the wild world of showbiz (he’s hugely talented though and should suceed inthe future). Starting out geeky with greasy hair and a lame song like “Happy Together”, he knew how to build himself up, shedding those extra pounds (his idol-mates did say he worked out a lot and did you see his demo video for Analog Heart from 2 years ago where he looks almost exactly as he does now, hmmm) and jolting us with “Hello” and “Billie Jean” at the perfect moments in the season. Let’s not forget the tears on the finals after singing “The World I Know”. Perfect! He won our hearts and made us vote 4 hours straight, good thing his musical talent makes him deserving. Now, all his public talk about K Caldwell - hey, didn’t you even see Season 2 and how horribly mean she was on that show?! What a disconnect from the tasteful, sensitive DC he’s presented himself on the show. Makes me think this is just his opening act for the next phase of his career - throw in some bad to the clean, rocker boy image and keep people’s curiousity up, huh? DC, you’ve upset many people - could you just be yourself, please. Well, I’m going back to MJ all the way!!! Michael Johns - now that’s a GENUINELY nice, smart and immensely talented idol to watch. No acts there.
This guy (D.Cook) is getting arrogant. In two months everyone will be sick and tired of his big ego! KURAC!

I’m an Archie fan too but I’m embarrassed by your comments about Cook. Why can’t you just love Archie and not put down Cook? You’ve probably seen lots of interviews where Archie has praised Cook’s talent and says how much respect he has for him…
They seem to be both great guys with lots of talent and I wish them both tremendous success…

If you look carefully, the davids are not together. these are pictures of both in nyc but they are doing different shows at different times. so, since you know so little maybe you should not say anything. too bad you’re not inarticulate. besides, david archuleta expresses himself so well in his music and he his an amazing person…maybe you need to take a lesson from him and from cook (because cook told archie that he loves him when they hugged each other after the winner was announced on Wednesday night)

He is a great IDOL! I read where he would love to win a grammy some day and an oscar. I say go for it man. His commercial for guitar hero was so great I think he would be super in the remake of Footloose. He has so much talent and would be so much better with the adult audiences as compared to girly boy efron.
Why the anti-hate on D.Cook all of a sudden? The minute he asked KC out I’ve been reading so many negative comments, not just from here but from other sites too. It’s ridiculous. He has the right to date anyone he chooses too…

Love them both for their talent. Archie is so cute and adorable and Cook is so masculine and edgy with both having great pipes. Saw Cook on ellen and he said he’s love to do a movie someday. I agree with Tina he would be so much better in Footloose then Zac Efron. Sick of the HSM cutie pie crap….time for real men to show up on the screen.

Wow they are both in NY and I live here. would love to see them both perform. Two great voices with different styles. David Cook in “Footloose” would be excellent. Loved both the Davids and wish then much success with their singing careers. Seriously, David Cook in Footloose? How awesome would that be. Hope they haven’t inked in Efron to a conract yet becuase this guy would be fantastic in that role. I read that he played baseball and was in drama in highschool. He is very versatile and quite intelligent.
Both in New York, that is super. Two super talents who deserve lots of success. Loved them on Idol. Hope to see lots more of them.
Keep us updated with David Cook pics and news because we love him, or at least I do. He is a very talented guy who not only can carry a tune, but he’s also quite eloquent and funny. He’s gorgeous, so JUST JARED, I hope you post a lot of him.

David Archuleta is probably being included in all of the post season hype because he is an amazing talent and was the front runner from the first song that he song. Not to take anything away from David Cook, but I feel he had to work his way to the win, improving each week. Archuleta had it from the beginning (vocally). So CONGRATS to both. I believe you don’t need to win the title to make be a success if you truly have the talent.
And let’s face it, with 97 million votes, and DC winning by 12 million, we know what fans knew how to utilize the “power vote”.

Maybe the Davids are together because they actually LIKE each other. ( Or because they LOVE each other) Being the true fan that you are, surely you saw the moment after when Cook hugged Archuleta and told him that he loved him. In the interview he told what he said to him and said that he had the big brother thing going on with him. Maybe he is getting so many interviews because he was a frontrunner throughout the ENTIRE competition. And because of his HUGE fanbase!!!!! If you would watch ALL of the interviews you would see how articulate David Archuleta really is. He has come such a long was since the beginning of this thing. How sad to degrade a 17 yr old boy that has worked so incredibly hard to get where he is….and he is sooooooo deserving. If you are such a fan of Cook’s, maybe you could listen to him talk about Archuleta. He said “How can you hate this face?” He LOVES this guy. Yes, well maybe he is still a little shy and laughs while he talks (I find this quite adorable) but he know what he wants and what he says makes total sense. He is so mature for 17 and just gets better as the days go by. Not to mention his singing voice…..WOW… he is AMAZING. David Cook said that after Archuletas performances the final night, he had conceded to take second. I was going to look up the video, but you can do it yourself. He also said that David Archuleta “has more talent at 17 than I (Cook) know what to do with at 25. “You might want to check out some of his interviews and listen to him speak of the respect that he has for this young man. I have always been an Archuleta fan, but enjoy Cook very much also. After seeing and hearing Cook talk about the other idols with so much true respect, I respect him so much more. Too bad some of his fans don’t follow his example. I have tickets to see the top 10 on tour and I can’t wait. They are all wonderful and I hope that everyone of them finds success in their careers. CONGRATS TO YOU ALL! They will have a great summer, they all get along so well and will be great to watch….FUN!! This is truly the best to 10 EVER :)

maybe cook should take a lesson from Archie’s book…he doesn’t want to have a girlfriend yet because he wants to focus on his music and career and he knows a relationship would get in the way of that. I remember KC from season 2 of AI and she came off as being one of those “mean girls”. Maybe she’s grown up since then, but hey FIRST IMPRESSIONS are hard to overcome!
David Cook needs good public relations people at this point. They would tell him … ruuuunnnnn fast away from Kimberley Caldwell. People despise her, since she’s so annoying … she’ll ruin his career … he’ll end up with same outcome as taylor hicks I’m afraid, no matter how good his voice is.

See, I really don’t feel like any of it WAS an act. Alright, the make-over I suppose I can kind of understand where you’re coming from, but I feel like that was more just that he genuinely got to the show, realized he could benifit from a bit of a make-over and working out, so he did it. haha. There prob wasn’t much “calculation” in that. And as for the crying after TWIK, that DEF had NOTHING to do with trying to get votes. Some of it MAY have had to do with just being in that moment sorrounded by so many people, but I think that 95% of that emotion was due to the fact that his brother Adam was there, when he had not been expected to be able to make it before. So for THAT reason it was an extremely, extremely emotional thing for him. Just had to get that out there :)
As for him and Kimberly? Well, okay, I’d be lying if I said I WANTED them to have a long term relationship, but honestly, let the guy have some fun! He’s 25, gorgeous, and single- LET him date a hot chick or two simply for the sake of getting some if that’s what he wants to do! :) And if it ends up being more than that (which I have a feeling it wont), well then I trust his judgment, and maybe she really is a pretty cool girl! I just think it’s so silly to be getting all upset over this. They’ve gone out on ONE dinner date so far! It’s NOTHING serious as of now haha

i love watching these two doing an interview together for trl . if you watch their interview on that show they actually sang the phonebook . cook and archie both sounded amazing . they also did an interview on today in new york . when you watch them together you see how much they care about each other . cook is like a big brother to archie . also , when they were in new york last week they did a lot of interviews seperately . archie is definitely getting better with his interviewing skills . i can’t wait to see them on tour this july together and with the other top 10 contestants .
