OlderAngelina Jolie - “Vanity Fair” July 2008
Angelina Jolie looks lip-smackingly good on the the July 2008 cover issue of Vanity Fair, out next week. Here’s a preview:
On being pregnant with twins: “I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
On her international family: “When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn’t have parents. It’s not a humanitarian thing, because I don’t see it as a sacrifice. It’s a gift. We’re all lucky to have each other. I look at Shiloh—because, obviously, physically, she is the one that looks like Brad and I when we were little—and say, ‘If these were our brothers and sisters, how much would we have known by the time we were six that it took into our 30s and 40s to figure out?’ I suppose I’m giving them the childhood I always wished I had.”
On daughter Shiloh’s birth: “We were in this little hospital in Africa when Shi was born. I don’t think there was anybody else in the hospital. It was just a little cottage, the three of us. It ended up being the greatest thing…. I had a C-section and I found it fascinating. I didn’t find it a sacrifice and I didn’t find it a painful experience. I found it a fascinating miracle of what a body can do.”
On nannies never sleeping over: “We don’t ever have anybody spend the night. We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and back-grounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher—wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Bel-gium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.”
On artists as parents: “Artists raise their kids differently,” she said. “We communicate to the point where we probably annoy our children. We have art around the house, we have books, we go to plays, we talk. Our focus is art and painting and dress-up and singing. It’s what we love. So I think you can see how artists in some way raise other artists.”

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who was reminded of the screen sirens of the past when looking at those photos of Angie in VF. For me the green wig photo made me immediately think of Bridgette Bardot, and the cover shot made me think of Marilyn Monroe. The other photo with her natural hair draped half away across her face in that sexy pose makes me think of Rita Hayworth. It’s like Patrick Demarchelier was on the same wave length as Clint Eastwood.
I’m looking forward to getting my copy.

I can’t stand the photoshopper(s) at VF. They have ruined the cover, imo, but I have ordered my copy. :smile: The pictures inside are nice!
Hello….stop hating when people stop being vain and worshipping strangers for….making SUCH influential movies as she has…..there are vicious accusations always being made against her a total stranger…I mean arent y’all used to people hating and showing intolerance because they are just envious by nature and not fans of the X as you call her. She deserves to be anonymous I will give you credit.
The rest of the pics in the photoshoot are off the charts,can’t wait for monday.

Can’t believe ET wiped away all evidence of their big mistake. Someone’s head will/should roll out of there on this one because they seem to pride themselves as the best of the “entertainment” shows. While folks rail on People Magazine for being/becoming a tabloid, these entertainment shows are proving to be no better. A few weeks back ET reported on the rumor that Angie wanted to name the twins Castor and Pollox and that Brad is said to not like the idea. Hello!!! Even I knew THAT was BS. In their haste to have any “morsel” of Jolie Pitt news that others might not have they rush to air things that they have yet to fact check, or just make up stuff to explain a picture a pap took. I’m so darn tired of folks using the term “sources” to give a story some sort of validity.They should know better than to report rumors, and did they actually believe Brad & Angelina would have someone in the delivery room with them that would report the details to the media???? James Haven, was that you????
Brad & Angelina let the media know what they want them to know. I find it funny that all the other pregnant actress’ like Jessica Alba, Nichole Kidman etc are not getting anywhere near the exposure Angelina is getting. Angie & Brad’s twins have just about trumped everyone else’s pregnancy!! Plus they even trumped themselves with this twin pregnancy!

I love how there’s like this small group of people on here who seem to know each other from posting on the Brad and Angie topics all the time.. that’s awesome.. if you have no real life friends or a life :) YAY!
I also love how everytime someone says something short of praise about either of these two, people get all rabid and start saying “haters” “you’re just talking about yourself” “aniston fan”
I don’t like the cover, I’m not fat, I’m about 10yrs younger then Angie, I’m not some Jennifer Aniston fan and normally I think Angelina is pretty. I still find her attractive, however I think this cover isn’t her best look at all and it makes her look cheap and aging.
You crazy obsessed people need to chill out. Brad and Angie don’t know you. If you were about to get evicted they wouldn’t pick up your rent tab or give you a loan. If you saw them on the street, they’d only stop if they had to(press, premier) and they couldn’t care any less about what you need or want.
Get over it and get something or someone real to get so passionate about.
And this is an open forum, it’s not all going to be sunshine beams. It’s both the positive and negatives. It’s called an opinion and freedom of speech you lunatics.

X fans don’t have the brains to realize that a brangelina fan is born every time they post hateful comments in all the message board on line. A lot of people are getting tired of the 3 year old divorce and the bashing on innocent children. American haters should be even more embarrassed because people from foreign countries are reading their racist remarks and feeling bad about americans in the process. Thy are reflecting to the world that americans are racist, revengeful and bitter scorned women. . I wasn’t this vigilant until after reading all those hateful comments. A lot of people are starting to hate the X because of the bashing especially on the children.
Well said, angie fan. Bashing is okay within the limit but too much & too long is turn off for anyone, especially when it involves children.
I come to dislike Jennifer because of the awful things I read on line from some of her, so called, fans. I don’t think they’re fans at all. Most of them sound like they are just venting their own frustrations and or insecurities.
I like Brad & Ange as a couple and also as individuals, but sometimes well meaning fans put a damper on my feelings toward them also.
And, yes, I am reading your coments and learning about your people. One thing I do notice is that Brad and Ange’s fans come across as more thoughtful and more educated than that of Jennifer’s fan.
Brad & Ange fans, Let’s express ourselves without turning others off. We can and have the right to bash Jennifer and or any others who tries to benefit their career by making Brad & Ange look bad either by press manipulation or by source insinuation. But, it will have to be within the limit and with some common sense.
Couldn’t she just have said she loved pregnancy and felt sexy and had a supportive partner without implying that other women aren’t so lucky? Most women feel sexy when they are pregnant and their spouses usually find them sexy as well. It’s the rest of us that could do without hearing and seeing every damn detail.
Could it be that you are reading too much of your shortcoming or insecurity in her comments? There are women out there who do not like pregnancy or do not have supportive partner. Her mother was one with the latter and could it be that she thought of her mother when she made her comments?
If you think she put you down with her comment, you are putting yourself down, not her. So go find a therapist and work to build up your confidence.
Brad finds angelina sexy when she’s pregnant because that’s the only time she looks healthy when she’s not pregnant she looks bony and sick and her veins are really popping out of her skin so gross. So yes brad will keep her pregnant because that’s the only time she looks attractive and I agree.
Cookie you are just showing your ignorance. Angie is not the editor of Vanity Fair. The aim of vanity fair is to sell magazine. The author has to make the interview interesting and catchy. Angelina was not the one who wrote the interview. Besides angie was not criticizing anyone in particular. Only a hater can find anything wrong with her statement. Anyone who got a loving partner will not be feeling anything wrong with her statement
All the haters criticism on angie are just backfiring on their idol. Angie had gained more fans around the world in the last 3 years because of all the petty and hateful comments made by jen fans. I know the haters are jen fans because the attacks are personal and include the children. Only a scorned vindictive person can make those kind of attacks.
Haters who claim not be an X fan please tell what has angie done to you to incite the hate. Speaking for myself i started hating the X because of the hateful comments from the X fans all due to jen’s oprah and vanity fair interview
