OlderAngelina Jolie - “Vanity Fair” July 2008
Angelina Jolie looks lip-smackingly good on the the July 2008 cover issue of Vanity Fair, out next week. Here’s a preview:
On being pregnant with twins: “I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
On her international family: “When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn’t have parents. It’s not a humanitarian thing, because I don’t see it as a sacrifice. It’s a gift. We’re all lucky to have each other. I look at Shiloh—because, obviously, physically, she is the one that looks like Brad and I when we were little—and say, ‘If these were our brothers and sisters, how much would we have known by the time we were six that it took into our 30s and 40s to figure out?’ I suppose I’m giving them the childhood I always wished I had.”
On daughter Shiloh’s birth: “We were in this little hospital in Africa when Shi was born. I don’t think there was anybody else in the hospital. It was just a little cottage, the three of us. It ended up being the greatest thing…. I had a C-section and I found it fascinating. I didn’t find it a sacrifice and I didn’t find it a painful experience. I found it a fascinating miracle of what a body can do.”
On nannies never sleeping over: “We don’t ever have anybody spend the night. We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and back-grounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher—wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Bel-gium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.”
On artists as parents: “Artists raise their kids differently,” she said. “We communicate to the point where we probably annoy our children. We have art around the house, we have books, we go to plays, we talk. Our focus is art and painting and dress-up and singing. It’s what we love. So I think you can see how artists in some way raise other artists.”

I love Angelina, but I caught that statement too. Many people from all walks of life and different careers do that with their children. Artists are not the only ones.

I think Angelina looks great except for the lipstick. They should have toned it down, I plan on buying it when it comes out.
Brad and angie’s family is hollywood’s royalty.
They slowed down the internet with this pregnancy birth. They can bring down a blog site just by their pictures. No one in hollywood is getting so much interest and fascination. Even haters are so interested and fascinated that they have to be the first one to post.
Even their negative post shows that angie has gotten their attention.
The birth of the twins is going to add more fascination to this family.

Oh yeah…and if this is true and the names are correct? I think the nanny’s friend just got the nanny fired… I sure as hell would fire the woman. Angie and Brad have gone to great lengths to ensure privacy and a special time for themselves and their family and the nanny is telling their biz, especially THIS biz, to her friends - despite confidentiality agreemens? B#tch would be unemployed and facing a lawsuit in a heartbeat. Mine would be the last kids she ever watched as a professional nanny.
I prefer other pictures of Angie than on this VF cover, but I will definitely buy a copy.
Not my fav pic of Angelina either. They made her look like Terry Hatcher. And I agree with Piper, what’s up with that “Uncensored” title? VF probably wants to paint AJ as a “vixen” again, in contrast with the “wholesome” Jen. I am sure jenjen will have her VF cover later this year when her movies come out. As for this one, I’ll look at it first at the bookstore, then, will decide if it’s worth buying or not. I still hold grudges towards VF.

She didn’t say that artists corner the market in taking kids to plays and encouraging imaginative thought/play; she said that they encourage this and aren’t afraid to see where that leads their children.
If people were honest, they would admit that if their children got really into artistic pursuits, at a certain point, they will try to discourage or steer their children into a different direction.

she looks very pretty. it’s a look for a magazine cover not her everyday look. i think it is fine.
She is beautiful but this pictures has too much airbrushing. I liked her picture in vogue much much better. Just a little over done.
DAMN! She looks gorgeous! Not that that’s surprising, but I just really love this cover………..right down to the big, poofy hair and the huge cleavage.
The interview sounds great……..I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. I never buy these magazines, but an exception has to be made with Angie. :-)
I think that a woman like this can look beautiful, but not always so trampy~ like she does in most of her photo shoots. Aside from that, they (she and brad) are so unconventional with thier love, it makes you wonder the future for them and the kids…

I’m sorry, she is full of it, a c-section doesn’t hurt. whatever! I had one and it hurt like he!! for the first 3 days. getting cut open doesn’t hurt, she’s a liar.
Oh, and I must be jealous, blah, blah, blah…
jenho fans still disecting angie’s every word proves that angie is the only one who can get their attention and fascination. Not even jenho can get her fans attention anymore.
Some of you need to stop analyzing every word that Angie utters. She mentions art books and your panties are in a bunch accusing her of being pretentious and full of herself. This is how it works: a reporter shows up to interview Angie. She in turn has to say something and give up some private, personal details so that the journalist has something to jot down/record in the hand held recorder. I am sure Angie knows that she’s not saying anything that is a revelation or earth shattering, but she must says something. Otherwise, it would be an awfully quiet interview.
As for another person who complained that she’s not being original and sharing the same details about how Brad finds her sexy while pregnant, here something for thought: that it’s still true with her second pregnancy. Don’t be jealous. Just enjoy the article and move on.
