OlderAngelina Jolie - “Vanity Fair” July 2008
Angelina Jolie looks lip-smackingly good on the the July 2008 cover issue of Vanity Fair, out next week. Here’s a preview:
On being pregnant with twins: “I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
On her international family: “When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn’t have parents. It’s not a humanitarian thing, because I don’t see it as a sacrifice. It’s a gift. We’re all lucky to have each other. I look at Shiloh—because, obviously, physically, she is the one that looks like Brad and I when we were little—and say, ‘If these were our brothers and sisters, how much would we have known by the time we were six that it took into our 30s and 40s to figure out?’ I suppose I’m giving them the childhood I always wished I had.”
On daughter Shiloh’s birth: “We were in this little hospital in Africa when Shi was born. I don’t think there was anybody else in the hospital. It was just a little cottage, the three of us. It ended up being the greatest thing…. I had a C-section and I found it fascinating. I didn’t find it a sacrifice and I didn’t find it a painful experience. I found it a fascinating miracle of what a body can do.”
On nannies never sleeping over: “We don’t ever have anybody spend the night. We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and back-grounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher—wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Bel-gium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.”
On artists as parents: “Artists raise their kids differently,” she said. “We communicate to the point where we probably annoy our children. We have art around the house, we have books, we go to plays, we talk. Our focus is art and painting and dress-up and singing. It’s what we love. So I think you can see how artists in some way raise other artists.”

Wow! Thanks Jared for the new threads today. You really went town. I haven’t read the other threads, but it looks like People confirmed that the rumors about Angie giving birth are not true. So…more waiting for the JP fans. :sad:

I likewise did not find my c-section to be painful. Not at all what I expected. Everybody is different.
they usually put the best part on the cover,so is that the best part where she has talked about Brad?
they sure are talking about each other as a COUPLE very little,someone would even think Kids are the only reason who keep them together instead of love for each other.
in past at least Angelina was more lovable about Brad,but guess that love has already gone through last year and all those Brad’s interview without mentioning Angie.
maybe she is taking revenge.

Please, you are so lying. C-sections don’t hurt at all. Vaginal deliveries where the cut you va-jay-jay hurt for weeks healing with stitches. I’ve had both and I’ll take c-section anyday.

I had a c-section too. the precedure didn’t hurt but afterwards ( getting up hours after the surgery to walk, use the restroom , etc.) was just as painful as for some women going through labor . i say that with having children you are either going to hurt before or after . no procedure is pain free .

From brad, angie, maddox, zahara, pax, shiloh and now the twins. Interest to this family is growing and growing everyday even until brad and angie starts having their grandchildren.
So she thinks people with integrated families know more than families without?
Experts and everyday parents agree that what children need most is stability. Different faces, art, traveling — all those things are great but not nearly as important as having a stable environment. I can’t help but think the constant entourage and traveling makes for an unstable environment for the children. It seems like Jolie trying to doctor their world with all these less important factors in order to try and create some sort of utopia. Society’s idolization of celebrities like Jolie and Pitt places emphasis on the wrong things: beauty and material possessions. There are plenty of well-adjusted, smart, giving adults that came from normal everyday families that had less.
And we as parents all know that you can give your kids everything in the world and they will walk their own path. The most important thing you can teach your child is take responsibility for their own actions. It seems like Jolie still blames the conflicts in her life on her father’s affair and, now, not having adopted siblings? She seems utterly conflicted. She does so many great humanitarian things but yet she doesn’t raise her children to believe in a higher power? And why is she always comparing Shiloh to the other children? First she was a “blob” then she was an “outcast” and now she’s the lucky one for having adopted siblings because they’ll make her smarter and know things mommy and daddy didn’t learn when they were younger?
Let’s just hope the children are OK because their parents obviously still have issues.

I believe Angie is talking about the child birth via c section EXPERIENCE, and NOT the actual surgery.
I had c section on my 2nd child. But the JOY on the miracle of life made you forget all the pain that associated with c section.

ROTFL. It would be funny…except…I really seriously doubt X ever crosses Angie’s mind. I do think they get a major chuckle out of hearing about X’s Ass, Cooch & Hoing Tour. Hoing…a new word… Seriously…I’m sure someone in their camp tells them about X’s antics when they have premieres and pregnancies.
If I were Angie’s friend I’d feel compelled to tell her…just so we could laugh ourselves silly about it. X’s machinations are a total joke and I’d be tempted to so something just to provoke her into another poolside episode. Cliniqua, I just had to laugh reading some of your posts (#137 above comes to mind). You’re right, it’s my turn to chill a bit.
As for c-section pain, I forgot to add that it also depends on how your medical team treats it. Some are on top of things, and can keep you pretty much pain free.
