OlderAngelina Jolie - “Vanity Fair” July 2008
Angelina Jolie looks lip-smackingly good on the the July 2008 cover issue of Vanity Fair, out next week. Here’s a preview:
On being pregnant with twins: “I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
On her international family: “When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn’t have parents. It’s not a humanitarian thing, because I don’t see it as a sacrifice. It’s a gift. We’re all lucky to have each other. I look at Shiloh—because, obviously, physically, she is the one that looks like Brad and I when we were little—and say, ‘If these were our brothers and sisters, how much would we have known by the time we were six that it took into our 30s and 40s to figure out?’ I suppose I’m giving them the childhood I always wished I had.”
On daughter Shiloh’s birth: “We were in this little hospital in Africa when Shi was born. I don’t think there was anybody else in the hospital. It was just a little cottage, the three of us. It ended up being the greatest thing…. I had a C-section and I found it fascinating. I didn’t find it a sacrifice and I didn’t find it a painful experience. I found it a fascinating miracle of what a body can do.”
On nannies never sleeping over: “We don’t ever have anybody spend the night. We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and back-grounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher—wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Bel-gium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.”
On artists as parents: “Artists raise their kids differently,” she said. “We communicate to the point where we probably annoy our children. We have art around the house, we have books, we go to plays, we talk. Our focus is art and painting and dress-up and singing. It’s what we love. So I think you can see how artists in some way raise other artists.”

Leaving aside the twaddle of the rest of your post…you’re deliberately reading something into Angie’s statement that wasn’t there. She said she was giving her children the childhood SHE WISHES SHE HAD HAD. Nowhere does she say that her way is best or the all-white families suck. It’s called PERSONAL PREFERENCES. Like YOUR personal preference is to misinterpret a very straightforward statement and twist it to fit YOUR PERSONAL AGENDA.
Now bugger off. You’ve obviously got a reading comprehension problem. God save us all when you finally read the entire interview. You’ll probably misinterpret every third word.
She is promoting Wanted - that’s why the pics are more sexy. When she promoted AMH, the magazine pics were more subdued.
Also give her a break - every thing she says is being challenged and critiziced by the trolls. She is not saying her way is the best way, or the only way. She is saying she wants to raise her children in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic family. That’s all she is saying. She is not saying that is the better than other people or other ways of parenting. Give her a break. Why does she make the trolls so insecure that they attack everything she says and does.

#155: You’re right…this is photoshopped. Normally, Angie is much more beautiful and sexier. They didn’t want to show just how more of a siren she truly is. They made this G-rated even with the boobs. Let’s hope they have better pics inside.

Yet another reason why Clint comparing Angie to actresses from the Golden Era of Films makes sense. Angie would still photograph gorgeously in B&W films. Her facial proportions and bone structure are perfect for that medium. Nic Kidman? No. Renee Z? No. Both too pasty. Cate? Yes. Julia Roberts? Maybe. Reese? Not with that chin. Cam Diaz? No. Halle Berry? Moot point. Poor girl would’ve been a maid or stuck in ‘race films” like Dorothy Dandridge. X? Biggest joke of all. That nose. That chin. Thin, non-existent lips? Never.

Today’s Insider just showed some pictures from the VF article. In one she has a green wig on, in another she has long black hair. So the theme of the photoshoot is to show her in sexy, screen siren poses. At least that’s how I see it.
Angie is so very versatile. She is a serious dramatic actress, sex symbol, action hero. Then in her real life she is a mother, domestic partner, humanitarian, philantrophist, and someone who wants to make her life useful to others. The pictures for VF reflect her role as sexy screen siren. When she promotes The Channeling, her magazine pics will have a different theme.
Point by point , issues like Vanity Fair cancel out all previous idiotic ‘proclamations’ made by the hords of tabloid rags. I am looking forward to buying and reading this issue. It’s allways fun to have ‘real’ information to counter the many foolish claims made by the fool trolls who insist on ‘visiting’ here.

Ah…well…must be true then. After all…they’ve got ratzi sitting outside Miraval 24/7 watching the guards guard the place. Maybe one of the ratzi had a Field Of Dreams moment out by the grape vines.
