Plot summer via Wiki: John Malkovich plays Ozzie Cox, a CIA vet who is fired because he is an alcoholic. He takes his revenge by writing some inflammatory memoirs. They believe they can use the info to blackmail Cox. Harry Pfarrer (Clooney) is an oversexed, fanatically fit, lactose-intolerant federal marshal who is sleeping with Cox’s wife. He meets Linda via an online dating service and gets entangled in the blackmail scheme, when he stumbles across Chad breaking into his and Katie’s house.

Hey Guli -

I was just having a little fun with that CreditGate thing. It IS annoying…but I wasn’t mad…just being silly…

…here we go AGAIN!…he can act…he can’t act….hahahaha

The clip is hillarious, can’t wait. Love the bit with brad on the phone- , security of your ****..hahaha . Looks like he nailed the part. I think Brad is naturally funny though, Remember the clip of him pimping his movie Spy Game to the public on jay leno years back. So funny.

==========================
Christian bale, Johnny depp, Javier Bardom are at the same level as Daniel Day-Lewis? Are you on drugs? Johnny depp, Javier Bardom probably are on the same level as Brad but not Christian Bale, that man is so ugly and can’t act at all.

Brad Pitt + Frances McDormand + George Clooney + Tilda Swinton + John Malkovich (+ the dude from Law & Order) + Joel & Ethan Coen = a great start. This looks good so far, and they’ve got all the tools.

Brad was hot in 12 Monkey. That was one crazy role. He was freaking hot.

Brad’s character is an obnoxious full of himself gym dude with an IQ of 50, in a…wait for it…Coen Bros. movie - HELLOOOO dumb asssses?!! So, uh, sorrry…there really aren’t going to be that many shades of gray, or complex subtlety nuances and layers in his performance - at least NONE that a decades long cheesey TV sit-com fan could catch.

Also, Jen HEN alert: Anytime you see posts that accuse Brad of botox or not having a flair for comedy. It is from a friend hen of Jen Aniston’s or the old TV sit-com hack herself - maybe her new hired fake bf whose a queeny little blog ***** himself. Bottomline, it’s the Maniston camp. If there’s one thing that ties these sad b*tches together, it’s a hate and jealousy of Brad that is actually more intense than their jealousy of Angelina.

They do NOT WANT to see Brad do well, or receive critical acclaim. The last couple of years where he HAS, has been more than rough for them. They can’t stand to see Brad ruling the world in business and his art AND his personal life, as he HAS BEEN, REALLY since HE MET ANGELINA!! THAT, is what they TRULY hate. They KNOW Brad was wasting his life chained to Maniston, wasn’t happy, was making for sh*t movies (The Mexican anyone??) Being a happy, satisfied, IN LOVE and INSPIRED man, has made Brad soar across ALL levels! He’s in his prime, and at the top pf his game.

Consequently, Maniston and her fellow hens (see Maniston’s old tasteless classless Vanity Fair attack to get names) are giving Brad the old Mother Aniston (Nancy Dow) treatment. It’s grudge holding by a person who doesn’t want to see you fare well, and tries all manner of things to deflate someone who they feel has ‘betrayed’ them - including enlisting their high powered PR man and staffers, and her own gaggle of friend hens into tearing him down on blogs, in publications and elsewhere.

Now. What to LOOK FOR: 1) Their number one identifiers are posts that slam Brad’s ‘looks’ (because these middle aged aging plastic surgeried hags are NOTHING if not obsessed with the superficial and that which does not matter –aka ‘LOOKS.’ In that way, they are JUST like their fearfFUL leader.) 2) Second runner up on identifying Aniston’s gaggle of hens, that that they love to insinuate and insult his acting skills and talent (Fishyth did this too, but she usually slurred his intelligence as well). Maniston was never about really giving him his props in ANY area — but she was REALLY quiet when it came to his acting. Primarily because she did NOT like forcing a comparison between herself (a TV HACK) and Brad (a MOVIE STAR). There was resentment there.

Hence you have what you have TODAY: Aniston, her PR flack and her hens attacking what will surely be another GREAT comedic foray for Brad Pitt — Brad IMO, ALWAYS knocks it out of the park when he is allowed to inject his natural affinity for humor/comedy into his roles, be it 12 Monkeys, Tyler Durden in FC who was funny as f**king hell, Mickey from Snatch, Floyd from True Romance, John Smith in MAMS or Rusty Ryan in the Ocean’s flix Listen to me: These HATER b*tches KNOW THIS. The last thing they want to see later this year, and early part of next, is Brad ruling the awards shows, as Angelina did last year - and to have Brad & Angelina BOTH doing this (and from the critical lauding that’s already out for The Changeling/BAR/CCOBB - we just may see it) It will send Aniston, her best gay, and the hens off a ledge.

The hilarious thing for fans of FILM and FILM STARS. Is this sad TV sitcom hack b*tch Aniston (who was actually the LEAST talented on her own long running cheesefest TV sitcom) trying to infer or imply, she has this ’second city/snl/sketch comedy like talent and skillset, when she does not. When she fails in her dramatic roles, and in acting period - if you’ll notice, she ALWAYS goes back to this delusional ‘I’m a comedic actress and proud of our history and tradition’ BULLSH*T. Bahahahaha!

B*tch, the ghost of Gilda Radner - hell even Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock - should kick your azz for saying that, as you aren’t FIT to wipe their assses. The cast of ‘Facts of Life,’ puts Jennifer Aniston to shame. SERIOUSLY.

FINALLY Aniston hens, Huvane staffers alike…you CANNOT have it both ways…

….you can’t go around posting your smear jobs on Brad about his ‘over the top,’ expressions and acting and funny faces in BAR that you feel he’s missed the mark with…AND… at the SAME TIME, accuse him of Botox. Either you are too insanely jealous and enraged to make sense on this point, OR you’re retarded. Because the two things are contradictory. Botox victims, LIKE ANISTON for example, as we’ve seen from the 1001 on-set pics her PR queen releases weekly - cannot MAKE expressions - they are frozen. They are dead eyed and dead faced. They can’t MAKE expressions. Pick a color hags.

…you don’t even need to put down other actors just to hoist Pitt up…that’s childish…haha

? @ 05/31/2008 at 3:05 pm

Um no maybe it’s because he’s an actor? what does famous have to do with Legends of the Fall, A River Runs through it, 12 Monkeys, Kalifornia, Seven, Fight Club, Snatch, Babel, etc…He’s good enough and has what’s necessary to relly pull in a great performance. the famous part only figures in the Ocean’s films. He’s there because he’s Brad Pitt and friends with everyone in that movie. .

Nobody is like Daniel Day Lews is, Johnny Depp aspires to be Daniel Day Lewis. I feel Johnny will never win an Oscar precisely because we already have Daniel Day Lewis. Johnny is known for his niche of films that he does which is great but the acting is the same. He went to the Marlon Brando School of acting. That’s great only if you’re Marlon Brando. Christian bale..ugh… Javier Bardem? only with the right script & director which is the case for most actors.

PT– I know that. I doesn’t bother me anymore either, but I feel if most of us give credit to someone who took the time to find the info the rest will follow as well. Oyy lady we think a like —-when I read your post to the idiot, I had just gotten done flagging his a$$ as well

I agree.

LMAO@ the idiot thinks Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem and Christian bale are like Daniel Day Lews. hahaha. Too damn funny.

John Malkovich is on the same level of DDL. Even John Malkovich has never won Oscar, he and DDL are brilliant actors.

I think this is the best assessment of Johnny Depp I’ve ever seen on this blog. I’m not one of those people who are impressed by Depp. I just don’t think he’s believable in anything that’s not out in left field. Would he be believable in some of the films Brad has done? Snatch…maybe. The rest? Not. Yet…I would say the same thing about Brad. I wouldn’t buy him as the pirate in the Pirates movies or Edward Scissorhands or SleepyHollow. I think Brad’s got more options as an actor that Depp does though. Brad can do stupid comedies like this Coen flick…then 4 months later be believable in an sweeping drama like CCOBB.

As for Christian Bale - I can’t believe how many people here are dismissing him as an actor. I think he’s fantastic and he’s one of the few actors, who with the right roles, I could see mentioning in the same breath ad Daniel Day-Lewis. But movies like Batman aren’t going to get him there. Rescue Dawn & American Psycho? Yes. Batman and Terminator? NOT. But the good news about Bale is that he’s young - he’s only 34 - he’s got time on his side, which neither Depp nor Brad do.

And I’m not even going to touch Javier Bardem. He’s so far from DD-L it’s not even funny. He’s got that heavy accent that’s going to hold him back in HW. He’ll get quirky stuff like a Woody Allen movie, but I just can’t see him becoming a hot A-list actor. He’ll be a steady B or B+. He’s better than Banderas…which ain’t so a lot, I know…but that accent is going to keep him from being offered a lot of roles that he could probably carry off.

BTW - I’m glad no one brought up Edward Norton. He’s got way too many nervous ticks for me. He’s not that good. Mostly he’s annoying…and apparently a PITA on top of it…

DDL is kind of actor people are fascinated about him when he is on-screen. No body gives a cra p about him when he is off-screen. Brad Pitt inspires all kinds of fascination on-screen and off-screen especially his love life.

World tips Hollywood on its axis

Cannes displayed increasing clout of foreigners
By TIMOTHY M. GRAY, SHARON SWART, PAMELA MCCLINTOCK

Film executives are back home after Cannes, getting back to business as usual. Except things are not “as usual.” The May 14-25 festival and market crystallized what many have suspected for a long time: The business has undergone fundamental changes in the past year.

The acquisitions biz has shifted drastically. With the downturn in the niche market, studio specialty arms and the bigger indie buyers aren’t buying films like they once did. And projects are becoming more expensive, exemplified at Cannes by Steven Soderbergh’s companion Che Guevara films.

The funding world is completely different. American sources of financing like hedge funds and Wall Street are being hit hard by the rocky U.S. economy, while new sources are popping up in other regions around the globe, like India and other Asian countries, as well as the Middle East.

Simultaneous with those shifts is Hollywood’s new attitude toward foreign production. U.S. studios are aggressively looking to produce local-language projects for a particular territory or territories.
The studios may be Hollywood-based, but their conglom parents are thinking globally, which affects every business and creative decision.

In the past, each country’s box office was a mix of Hollywood blockbusters, U.S. midrange and indie pics, and local fare. Recently, the midrange pics have been squeezed out by local titles, such as by French blockbuster “Bienvenue chez les Cht’is.”

And, as the studios enter local-language production, Hollywood finds its monopoly on big-scale epics also being threatened. Cash-rich Asian companies grabbed headlines in Cannes with a string of deals and presentations for ambitious films that reached far beyond their traditional markets.

India’s Reliance Big Entertainment says it will spend $1 billion of its own money for an 18-month film slate. In addition, it has signed to provide development coin to Hollywood production shingles including George Clooney’s Smokehouse, Brad Pitt’s Plan B and several others.

Jordanian film execs are setting up their own more modest fund with coin emanating from ad revenues in t

John Malkovich with that ax is both funny and scary at the same time. I agree he is fantastic but he scares too many people. LOL!!!! Have you seen him in interviews? People seem to laugh at his humor just to be on the safe side and not anger him.

No freaking way. Only Daniel Day-Lewis is on the level of Daniel Day-Lewis! LOL! He’s like De Niro and Nicholson in their heyday - it was them and everybody else. Nicholson ruled the early 70s. DeNiro the last part of the 70s and the early 80s. Every film they did was almost a sure Oscar nod. DD-L doesn’t act often now, but when he does EVERYBODY in the biz sits up and takes notice. Frankly the only other actor I’ve EVER seen command that kind of respect is Katherine Hepburn, the original Kate The Great. I will throw in a special nod to Peter O’Toole, too. That man could play anything. I”ll kneel and bow my head to him for his perfomance in “Lawrence of Arabia” alone. Oh yeah…and a chap named Laurence Olivier. He was pretty good, too…

Johnny Depp doesn’t emote, or act well in my opinion. I think this may be, because of the type of person he is - he’s kind of closed off - there always seems to be a wall there. He’s always the quirky character, or he’s wry and trying to be sardonic and funny (see the Waters films, Ed Wood, or any and every other part he’s played). In What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, every other actor IN that film, from Juliettel Lewis, to the girl who played the older sister, to ESPECIALLY Leo DiCaprio (and even the big fat Mama), BLEW HIM OFF the screen. He was the caring ideal son - and that’s as far as it went, everyone else was emoting and pulling on heartstrings, he was just, there, like a bump on a log. IMHO.

Mondo Bongo and MF–I finally caught up with my email and responded. Thank you lovely ladies ((hugs and kisses)) :-)
