DD-L doesn’t want the attention off-screen. This is a guy who gave up acting for 3 or 4 years and went off to be a freaking cobbler in Italy! He’s wired differently than other people and that’s what makes him a great actor. Even if he were an American I don’t think he’d be tabloid fodder simply because he goes out of his way to avoid attention. He only cares about his craft and his family and doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the rest of it.

Brangelina buzz sweeps south of France

CORRENS, France (AP) — Brangelina must be cocooning.

The paparazzi swarming France’s Cote d’Azur can’t find Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Locals mutter or giggle about the invasion of Hollywood glam. A flyover of their new home in a luxurious villa turned up no clues about a report they’ve added a set of twins — which Pitt’s manager says is “not true.”

This pastoral sliver of the south of France has been abuzz ever since reports emerged last week that the Brangelina clan was moving in — confirmed by the mayor of the village in question, Correns.

A helicopter swing Saturday over the vast yet reclusive Chateau Miraval, where the couple and their four children are said to be settling, turned up only stepped vineyards, empty chairs at a table on a pockmarked stone patio and a helicopter parked on a finely groomed lawn in front of a farmhouse and accompanying buildings.

A handful of parked cars and two men were seen from up above — one planted next to the chopper, another peering skyward through binoculars from an estate driveway. Other than that, there was no sign of human life outdoors or in. Several shutters were pulled on the main stone house.

The apparent calm did not stop the buzz.

“Entertainment Tonight” first reported on its Web site Friday that the actress had given birth in France. Show host Mary Hart cited an unidentified source who claimed to be in the delivery room, saying the twins were born and that “yes, mother and babies are fine.”

Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, told The Associated Press: “We have no comment except the story is not true,” and several celebrity news outlets also reported the story was false.

Despite the denial, the Web site of Britain’s Now magazine on Saturday cited “sources in France” saying Jolie’s doctor had flown in from California, and that the couple named the twin girls Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane Jolie-Pitt.

With no concrete proof, reporters and photographers staked out the entrance to the estate, nestled between rolling, wooded hills on the fringe of Correns, population 800, and invisible from any public roadway.

Jolie has said previously that her twins are due in August. She and Pitt already have four children: 6-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Pax and 3-year-old Zahara, who are adopted, and 2-year-old Shiloh.

Hospital officials in maternity clinics and hospitals in the region said they weren’t aware that Jolie had come in — and would not say if she were scheduled. France strictly respects privacy rules governing health matters.

On Saturday, shopkeepers in the nearby town of Brignoles murmured about a sighting last week of the family strolling through town and stopping at a women’s clothing boutique — before the media hordes breezed in.

Some locals were blase about the incoming stars.

“She’s a woman like any other,” a Correns villager who gave his name only as Leon told Associated Press Television News, referring to Jolie. “I’ve never ever seen her. You know, as far as pretty women go, there are others on Earth.”

Others were tickled about the new neighbors.

“My son is delighted that Angelina Jolie is here,” said Nadia Caetano, of her 16-year-old. “He said, ‘I’m going to be an orphan, and she’ll adopt me. Mom, say that you’ve abandoned me, and she’ll adopt me.’”

Traditionally, the region has lured tourists mostly for rock-climbing excursions on the rolling hills of the verdant region and leisurely strolls in its medieval villages.

Security guards and local gendarmes were blocking the gates to the estate Saturday, where only a trickle of vehicles were allowed in.

According to its Web site, the Miraval estate is located on a site first inhabited in pre-Roman times. Today, it features fountains, ancient aqueducts, a moat, a pond and vineyards that produce a highly esteemed organic wine.

Locals know Miraval most for receiving rock stars over the years. The estate includes a studio that’s hosted the likes of Sting, the Cranberries and Pink Floyd, who recorded tracks for “The Wall” album there.

The Brangelina ‘twins were born story that wasn’t,’ is the hottest thing in Google’s Entertainment section with almost 2000 hits, one article says the ‘did they or didn’t they,’ give birth story’s coverage and denials indicate the intensity and focused worldwide interest there are in Brangelina and their family.

They are the biggest stars on the planet, bar none.

Really. They are.

I’ve never seen anything like it, or even before my time as a Movie and Hollywood fan, never heard of anything like it either.

Boar hunters seek pact with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Boar hunters from a village in Provence where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have just moved into a 17th-century chateau have appealed to the Hollywood stars to provide access to the grounds despite their support for environmental causes and desire for tranquillity.

The couple arrived last weekend at Château Miraval, near Aix-en-Provence, as Jolie, 32, prepared to give birth to twins. They will rent the 35-room former Benedictine priory for the next three years.

Its 1,000-acre estate includes vineyards that produce one of the Var region’s finest white wines, two swimming pools, a helipad, a forest and a lake with swans and geese.

Alain Mayen, a retired mason from the nearby village of Correns who hunts for boar and deer on the property, has urged its owner Tom Bove, an Italian-American industrialist, to ensure that the actors do not declare the grounds off limits.

Last year Bove invited a party of 65 to hunt 100 boar on the estate. “We’re waiting to hear back from Mr Bove and we hope the new residents won’t ban our hunts,” Mayen said.

“The environment is all very well but you have to protect the vines. Hunting is the only way to stop the vines getting damaged.”

According to local officials, the couple, both environmental campaigners, are seeking a quiet backwater for the twins, their daughter Shiloh, who is nearly two years old, and three adopted children, Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.

Michael Latz, the mayor of Correns, said: “Hunting here is part of the local tradition. Boar and deer are harmful. If you don’t hunt them, you don’t get grapes.”

Officials said the couple had chosen the property after it was recommended to them by Pitt’s friend Bono, the singer, who made an album with his band U2 at a recording studio in the castle’s cellars.

Pink Floyd recorded part of The Wall there. The Cure, Sade and Oasis have all stayed in the chateau.

Apart from the beauty of the property, Pitt and Jolie were attracted by the organic nature of all its produce, ranging from olive oil to lavender, sage and thyme.

The actors and their children are keeping a low profile. “The only sign of their presence is a couple of gendarmes outside the gates. All we see is their helicopter flying off every so often,” said Jean-Claude Sadion, who runs the local tourism office.

For Jolie, the castle is a reminder of her French mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer last year. She told an interviewer last week that she had decided to teach her children French. “[French is] the second language in our house. I’m still learning, but my children are starting to speak the language, so being here is very good for them,” she said.

Yet no one has heard the cries from the accounting zealots screaming BOX OFFICE POISON or HE CAN”T OPEN A FILM when it coms to Daniel Day lewis. Gangs of New York was his only box office hit recently. Yet Brad was in a box office hit just 3 years ago this month and people dismiss it as if it were 10 years ago lol!! They ask for box office and when you show them they come up with an excuse why it was a hit. It couldn’t be possible that people wanted to see Brad. Oh yeah people really wanted to see Orlando Bloom in Troy instead of Brad. LMAO. When they scream academy and film critics honors and you show them (Venice win and Golden Globe nom) they find a reason to dismiss. Is it any wonder no one cares what critics say? :)
