Brad Pitt’s “Burn After Reading” Trailer — WATCH NOW!

Check out the new trailer for Burn After Reading, featuring Brad Pitt and the newly single George Clooney.

Plot summer via Wiki: John Malkovich plays Ozzie Cox, a CIA vet who is fired because he is an alcoholic. He takes his revenge by writing some inflammatory memoirs. Cox’s soon-to-be ex-wife Katie (Tilda Swinton) steals the disc containing his memoirs and accidentally leaves it at the gym where it is found by a trainer, Chad Feldheimer (Pitt) and the gym’s owner, Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand). They believe they can use the info to blackmail Cox. Harry Pfarrer (Clooney) is an oversexed, fanatically fit, lactose-intolerant federal marshal who is sleeping with Cox’s wife. He meets Linda via an online dating service and gets entangled in the blackmail scheme, when he stumbles across Chad breaking into his and Katie’s house.

Burn After Reading is due to premiere on August 27 and will open the 2008 Venice Film Festival. The film is the Coen brothers’ first since the Academy Award-winning No Country For Old Men. Watch the trailer below!

JessO, I don’t care if KFP is a kid’s movie, I don’t have any kids to bring with me but I’m going to see it anyway, lol. It looks like a blast and really funny.

Is the English patrol here?

+++++++++++++

Yes, actually. That’s MY JOB. BUT…only when it comes to trolls, haters and Fanistons. Fans are allowed to use broken English. Double standard? Hellz yeah! We welcome all fans around the world…trolls can go suck a tailpipe on an idling car.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OMG–ROTFLMAO!!! I couldn’t have said it any better :lol: ((clapping and bowing))
Daniel Day-Lewis generates a LOT of interest off-screen, but when he appeared in Last of the Mohicans and he started to be more of a movie star than an actor, he made sure his private life disappeared from view. He refused to answer anything when forced to do an interview, avoided press at all costs and doing appearances, hid out, and eventually, after years of a very quiet life, left acting.
Besides, living overseas where people are better educated and less inclined to wallow in celeb gossip all day, has freed him from being the prisoner that celebs living in the U.S. have to suffer being.
Upon his return, people were RAVENOUS of news of his private life, which is how everyone knows of his being a cobbler. He now refuses to answer questions at all of a private nature.
Other actors have done that. Harrison Ford was such a huge star that he realized he would have no life if he didn’t leave California, so he stayed on a ranch in Wyoming and for years wouldn’t even disclose where his other home was, and wouldn’t answer a thing about his private life. As a result, he is not a tabloid fixture, which he easily could have become with being a part of Star Wars, Raiders, and Jack Ryan franchises.
Daniel Day-Lewis successfully avoided the “Sexiest Man Alive” type of pitfalls, so now the press knows they might as well leave him alone. But to think that no one is interested in his off-screen life is silly.
++++++++++++++
Exactly. DD-L actively sought to keep himself from becoming beefcake after LOTM. That movie sucked ass to me, but DD-L in that loincloth? HAWT LIKE A MOFO! When he saw the reaction that movie had on all the romance novel readers? He ran for the freaking hills. That wasn’t what he’d gotten into acting for and he didn’t want his life to be gossip fodder. Of course…getting tangled up with Julia Roberts wasn’t exactly a bright move either. I think she still considers him to be the big fish that got away…
BTW - I like the Harrison Ford analogy to a point. HF did run off to Montana, but he also continued making movies and living in the fast lane at the same time. He tried to have his cake and eat it, too. He’s a lot like Mel Gibson - the public saw him as a family man, but in reality he had many affairs and did a lot of catting around and has a drinking problem, too boot. There’s always a price for the level of fame that HF & Mel Gibson had…and DD-L ran off back to the UK so he didn’t fall into that abyss.
#351–OMG Excuse moi .. as much I like DDL as an actor…. he would NEVER EVER be considered to be ‘the sexiest man alive’
lol, no way DDL is “the sexiest man alive”, no way. He is not good looking. He is a great actor though.
Ohhhh ITA that DDL is a GREAT actor. But I though #351 to try to make a point by saying …with his concious efforts he dodged the bullet and avoided being labeled ‘the sexiest man alive’ is HILARIOUS…OK, JMHO :-)
tiger @ 05/31/2008 at 9:49 pm Thanks Jared for the Burn After Reading trailer. Much appreciated!! I shared it around for those who would be interested in watching it. George and Brad together is always classic entertainment.
I do have one observation while reading here. Isn’t there a separate thread for Angelina Jolie and her Vanity Fair interview? Why bring that here? I enjoy Brad’s craft beyond his private life. Too bad those of you obsessed with his private life can’t keep it in the theads dedicated to it. I don’t see Angelina Jolie’s name in the heading of this one. Bizarre!!
OMG—a great one, and ITA :lol:
Hi, Bampzs fans! Couldn’t post yesterday on the VF site. Thanks, Guli, for mentioning the site was down–thought I’d lost (the rest of) my mind!
One thing: On one VF post, someone (I think #240) said how could Angie and Brad call themselves artists. They are artists! Artists are not just PAINTERS! Artists are writers, directors, musicians, decorators, cooks, and–yes–ACTORS!
Artists do raise artists–not only from their behavior, but also from their genes. This groups has a double-whammy of both. The chocolate-covered pizza breakfast may be the newest fad courtesy of the newest artists in the Pitt-Jolie bunch.
DDL is definitely SEXY. Just because you like the plastic/Steroid/botox/surgery aging pretty boy loooks doesn’t mean everybody is gonna agree with ya.
^^^ Hi NYP and Vee–ITAWU both :-)
OK, JP fans I need to hit the hey…good night to all of you. Have fun ;-)
I would truly appreciate it if posters who make know-it-all pronouncements would label them as their “OPINIONS”, because that is what your post consists of–your opinions.
There isn’t a sentence in there that doesn’t annoy me. Where are your statistics to back up your opinion that Americans are less educated and more likely to wallow in gossip all day than Europeans are? My dear, gossip BEGAN in Europe.
And people were RAVENOUS for news about Daniel Day-Lewis’ private life? LOL! I could laugh all day at how ridiculous this statement is. Are you his agent?
I am an appreciator of DDL. Loved him in Last of the Mohicans and was astonished by his work in My Left Foot. He is an accomplished actor, but he is not every woman’s dream guy. His eccentricity and quirkiness are responsible for that, not his clever avoidance of crowds running through the streets in search of him, as you would have us believe.
I read your comments as being negative toward Brad Pitt for his mega hunk recognition, and we don’t take kindly to that kind of talk around here.
Well, I take kindly…hahahahahaha
#367ddl fan, there are men who are good looking. there are men who are sexy. there are men who are good looking and sexy. brad pitt is good looking and sexy.
Hello…all’s good with everyone?…but, vicki, et tu?…I know women who would say are you kiddin me?…taste and impressions are subjective…and anyone would be entitled to her opinion and if you’re Clooney, then, his opinion…hahahahahahaha…one size DOES NOT fit all…
