Brad Pitt’s “Burn After Reading” Trailer — WATCH NOW!

Check out the new trailer for Burn After Reading, featuring Brad Pitt and the newly single George Clooney.

Plot summer via Wiki: John Malkovich plays Ozzie Cox, a CIA vet who is fired because he is an alcoholic. He takes his revenge by writing some inflammatory memoirs. Cox’s soon-to-be ex-wife Katie (Tilda Swinton) steals the disc containing his memoirs and accidentally leaves it at the gym where it is found by a trainer, Chad Feldheimer (Pitt) and the gym’s owner, Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand). They believe they can use the info to blackmail Cox. Harry Pfarrer (Clooney) is an oversexed, fanatically fit, lactose-intolerant federal marshal who is sleeping with Cox’s wife. He meets Linda via an online dating service and gets entangled in the blackmail scheme, when he stumbles across Chad breaking into his and Katie’s house.

Burn After Reading is due to premiere on August 27 and will open the 2008 Venice Film Festival. The film is the Coen brothers’ first since the Academy Award-winning No Country For Old Men. Watch the trailer below!

vickifromtexas @ 06/01/2008 at 4:38 am

oh cook, you were being so nice and then you had to go and say that?? well i’m off to bed. sleep well sweetie. = )

vicki,

…see?…you misunderstood…I meant, I know I have to contribute…I’m sorry…rest well…later.

looks funny, but Brad tends to over act…

Brad is in a comedy film, a physical comedy film, he’s SUPPOSED to overact and overeact.

longest drought!

omg
omg
omg

I’ve just seen Brad on bbc 2 (uk) he is watching the moto GP race. He is there with Maddox

The presenter Suzi Perry was like a little girl, she was all “theres Brad Pitt, theres Brad Pitt, He is wearing a funny hat lol”.

He looks goooooood.

Brad and Maddox are in Italy!

What does she mean by Brad was everything she wasn’t looking for? As in she wasn’t looking for a guy like him or that he was everything she should’ve looked for but wasn’t???

++++++++++++++++++

She means she wasn’t looking for a man when she met Brad…and got the shock of her life and found everything she didn’t even know she wanted.

Haven’t you ever had that experience? You’re not looking for something and suddenly it’s there and your face and THEN you realize that’s exactly what you want and need? I know it’s certainly happened to me. Unfortunately it was never with Brad Pitt! Just my damned luck….
P.T. ma belle,ur sooooo ………darn good!

bbctwo

did they show him a lot , like, keep going back to him? Maddox must”ve been in heaven being at the moto GP alone with his dad!

Does anyone remember early in their relationship when she had a home in the UK there were pix of Brad riding around on a dirt bike with little Mad? it was so darling.

****.I didn´t watch brad, I was watching the gp grand prix in the spanish tv , I´m watching eurosport now

# 426 dianad1968 @ 06/01/2008 at 4:29 am PT,

Do you think he would keel over if Brad wins an Oscar for CCOBB? LOL. Last year i remember when Jesse James was released, he was all over the media mouthing off support for Brad and predicting he would be nominated come Oscar season, but you know he was s***ting in his pants that, God forbid, actually Brad got nominated and won. I am sure this year is no different.

Hell, i have got to try to get over my cynicism of this guy. LOL.

I’m done being cynical about George. Sure. Sometimes his personality irritates me (the smugness, the wisecracks, etc.) but all in all - his heart is in the right place. As a JP fan, I have one requirement of my support for other celebs, and that is: are they or are they not, on ‘the list.’ George is almost a founding father of the ‘the list,’ since he was supporting Brad and Angie, and specifically - Angie FOR Brad - back when the sh*t was hitting the fan from minivans and mags alike over the whiny one and her expose. If that wasn’t enough to make me bite my lip over his personal smugness (…and actually, that really shouldn’t be any concern for anyone except the strippers and struggling actresses he dates, or Fabio) then his recent Time Magazine piece on both Brad & Angelina gave him a free pass for LIFE with me.

I think some fans view George Clooney as Brad’s competition and therefore like to playa hate — but fans should know one thing…George is smart enough and self-aware enough that even he knows he’s no competition for Brad and that Brad is better in every way. George has said so himself. I mean what more does GC have to do, to convince some of you that he is for the JPs all the way. One thing I’ve always liked about Clooney, he has a real strong desire and need to stand up against things he feels are unfair. I have a feeling he knows there are entities conspiring against B&A to continue to shut them out at the AAs (Babel, AMH, TAOJJ) - and he wants to do what he can to help. I bet he was as po’d as we were about both Brad and Angie getting shut out - particularly Angelina who many considered a shoe-in. Hers, was an outright snub. It was a little easier for the AA to say Brad’s smaller role in Babel, or his less showier lead role in TAOJJ would not get nominated. But bottomline, if Brad had been nominated for either - no one could have said ‘boo,’ because he was critically acclaimed and people had him on several short lists.

George C., is the darling of the AAs with two nominations, and a ‘win’ for best supporting, that frankly, IMO were a lot LESS worthy and MUCH less critically lauded than Brad or Angelina’s recent performances.

Thing is, I think George Clooney KNOWS this. He KNOWS the game. He knows this fabulous inspring couple are taking hits they shouldn’t take.

His Time Mag piece on the JPs IMO, was a way to say to TPTB — wake up and stop the snubs — not only are these two people at the top of their game artistically, even more importantly, around the world they are seen as an amazing ambassador couple for the United States and the World - and are simultaneously giving the best performances of their careers. If I like them and admire them, YOU need to also. These two people are making history and doing good things in the world, and you, as a body, appear to be snubbing them.
George’s Time Mag piece seemed to go a long way in trying to giving them props they deserved but didn’t get, from a body that supposedly embraces everything they stand for, and yet the two BEST representatives they seemingly go out of their way to ignore.

George, however, their pet — IS on the JPs side, and he doesn’t want to see that happen again. I think he thinks they were robbed, and that it was totally unfair.

I have nothing but love for the Cloon. Frankly, if there’s anyone in Hollywood that I think will have the JPs backs come hell or high water, it will be George Clooney.

That’s why I have his.

Not to say I won’t make fun of his tendency to find his gf’s on the pole, or his odd Fabio obsession which was a bit latent if you ask me.

All in all, I think he’s one of the best ambassadors the JPs have in the bowels of the Hollywood machine. They need one.

..and I mean that, exactly as it sounds. LOL :)

I think there are too many entities like CAA, Huvanes, and VF who are eyeball deep in the machinations of who sees nominations and who doesn’t. I think a sh*tload of members are on the take and can be influenced. Not that much has changed from the Miramax/Weinstein era.

BTW in what country is that race?

Interview: Richard Wilson meets Mark Millar

Richard Wilson
Mark Millar leads a double life. In one, he is a husband and a father living in a prim Glasgow suburb; in the other, he is something of an international man of mystery. When the two worlds collide, it tends to cause ripples of frowning disbelief.

In his working life, Miller is a comic book writer, and an outrageously successful one at that. His storylines for the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and Spider-Man are so popular that he now works for Marvel, the US publisher, on his own terms. Four years ago, he set up Millarworld to publish three comic books of his own, with another two to follow. The movie version of one of them, Wanted, will be released later this month.

The £33m film stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. It centres on the story of a doleful office worker, played by McAvoy, who discovers that his late father was a super-assassin and becomes one himself.

Having visited the set in Prague, Millar can drop into conversation anecdotes about chatting with Jolie in her trailer and finding her watching Little Britain DVDs, or the time he shared with her the delights of Coatbridge, his hometown.

“You hear of actors being surrounded by their PAs all the time, but I didn’t find Angelina like that at all,” says Millar. “You just realise she’s a 32-year-old girl who’s really nice.

“She said to me, ‘What is this place Coatbridge you talk about’, and I said, ‘Aw it’s beautiful. Just imagine mists over the hills’, and I gave her this shortbread version of Scotland. I just saw McAvoy Glasgow] looking at me, grinning.”

Miller has learned, though, to keep anecdotes about his famous friends to himself. “I found myself saying, I was telling Angelina…’. I learnt very quickly not to mention it, even with friends, because I have at times seen them looking at me funny,” he says.

There is an unbridled sense of delight that pours from Millar, a kind of gauche feeling of good fortune. He talks of comic books and movie adaptations with the gushing thrill of a teenager, but there is also a hard edge of corporate grittiness.

Millar, 38, is working on another 10 creative projects, alongside the five he has already devised. He is involved in setting up franchises to distribute his work and computer game tie-ins. All this so that he can retire at the age of 45.

Early retirement is a common theme of his interviews, but the older Millar becomes, the more his retirement age keeps being pushed back. He once told a journalist that he would stop writing comics at 30.

His contract with Marvel ends this month. Although it has offered him another deal stretching to 2013, which his wife, Gill, is keen for him to sign, he only wants to commit to another 12 months.

The success of Wanted, which he says has sold about 1m English-language copies and is the highest-selling creator-owned comic book of the past decade, has become a lucrative diversion.

He was an executive producer on the film, but retained little control when he sold the rights. The movie of another of his comic books, Kick-Ass, is being directed by Matthew Vaughn, who made Layer Cake and Stardust, with shooting beginning in July. Millar is more closely involved with the production.

Last week, he was in London for casting sessions. “It’s pretty much firmed up,” he says, “with two big A-list names in it.” This is classic Millar, who is accomplished at playing the publicity game. When I press him on the identity of the two stars, he says he cannot reveal their names.

Perhaps he is wary after his claim a few years back that Eminem was being considered for a role in Wanted brought an abrupt denial from the rapper’s representatives.

“One of them is one of the most respected actors in the world and the second one is probably at the top of the A list right now,” he says eventually.

“I can’t believe we’ve got them, but Matthew pulls a lot of weight in Hollywood. Actors really like working with him. Guys like De Niro and Daniel Craig love him, so anything he’s got coming up they beg to get in.”

Millar’s comic book stories sell hundreds of thousands of copies and when he flies to Marvel’s New York base every month, he travels first class. Yet the trappings of such a lifestyle are not in evidence in Glasgow.

Sitting in a restaurant, wearing a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt, with his hair ruffled and light stubble on his jaw, he blends into the background. He is resolutely unpretentious and gleefully reveals that he did not own a mobile phone until last Christmas.

“I like peace and quiet, but my worst fears have come true. Now people phone me all the time,” he chuckles.

Jack Black Busts Martial-Arts Moves At Fans’ Request After ‘Kung Fu Panda’ Sneak Peek Week ScreeningViews 668

“You want me to do some kung fu?” Jack Black teased an excited audience member, who had stepped up to the mic looking for some real moves. “OK, just a taste.”

The crowd came for a taste but wound up getting the full-course meal, complete with a kicking (and punching and twirling and jumping) dessert, as MTV’s Sneak Peek Week continued with a screening of Black’s “Kung Fu Panda” on Friday night at the Paramount Studios Lot.

There are several ways of thinking about old windows in post-Katrina New Orleans. On one hand, old windows are rich with history and architectural detail. On the other hand, they can be cracked, broken, rotten and leaking.

It’s the latter condition that causes the contractors, workers, homeowners and volunteers who are rebuilding New Orleans to toss old windows out and replace them with new ones that are watertight and weather resistive.

But it’s the former way of thinking — with reverence for century-old handiwork — that causes people like Ariane Wiltse to salvage old windows from the piles of demolition materials tossed alongside so many storm-ravaged streets.

Above, on the left, you see some of the windows Ariane has collected to use in the 1870s cottage she bought and is restoring in the Holy Cross Neighborhood of the Lower Ninth Ward. Anywhere Ariane can preserve history in this house, she is determined to do so
