Brad Pitt’s “Burn After Reading” Trailer — WATCH NOW!
Check out the new trailer for Burn After Reading, featuring Brad Pitt and the newly single George Clooney.
Plot summer via Wiki: John Malkovich plays Ozzie Cox, a CIA vet who is fired because he is an alcoholic. He takes his revenge by writing some inflammatory memoirs. Cox’s soon-to-be ex-wife Katie (Tilda Swinton) steals the disc containing his memoirs and accidentally leaves it at the gym where it is found by a trainer, Chad Feldheimer (Pitt) and the gym’s owner, Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand). They believe they can use the info to blackmail Cox. Harry Pfarrer (Clooney) is an oversexed, fanatically fit, lactose-intolerant federal marshal who is sleeping with Cox’s wife. He meets Linda via an online dating service and gets entangled in the blackmail scheme, when he stumbles across Chad breaking into his and Katie’s house.
Burn After Reading is due to premiere on August 27 and will open the 2008 Venice Film Festival. The film is the Coen brothers’ first since the Academy Award-winning No Country For Old Men. Watch the trailer below!

i think it’s funny. love brad’s dorky hair. lol.
This is REALLY funny.
See, the good thing is that some people believe that if you act in a comedy you ought to act funny (pull stupid faces, or act like a naive kid).
But the truth is that most funny actors are acting even more serious than necessary. You need timing, precision and that certain look.
Brad, fortunately, possesses all. He may be fun in real life- but it helps that he can do comedy.
I love him in Mr and Mrs Smith … over the top action and comedy. I love him in Snatch as well.
i can´t wait for this movie

Kinda OT…
Of course ET Online is experiencing “technical difficulties”…
THEY GOT CAUGHT WITH EGG ON THEIR FACES!!!
Now, mind you, I don’t watch “entertainment shows” EVERY DAY like I used to… But I did in the past, & they were usually right. By right, I mean they tended to check their stories out BEFORE airing them.
The website has NOTHING re: the births… Other news, yes, like Charlie Sheen getting married, etc. They don’t even offer what they used to do in the past - AN APOLOGY FOR GETTING IT WRONG! Then again, it’s really a fluff show, when compared to more serious & respectable media forms (i.e. CNN {TV}; Newsweek, People, etc. {print})
I wonder if they’ll have the guts to MENTION THEIR ERROR on the weekend or Monday edition of the show… Or if they’ll deal with their error in embarrassed silence…?
Question: Have any of you lost respect for ET, or do you think they were caught up in the hysteria that seems to surround the Jolie-Pitts every time they’re mentioned?
rossy40 @ 05/31/2008 at 6:07 am
I lost respect for ET a long time ago, with their coverage of the whole Anna Nicole debacle, their still pimping her baby every chance they get.
You don’t get it. Because it depends on what kind of character an actor plays in a comedy movie. In this movie, Brad is playing a character of an idiot person. Idiots act funny, like you said, pull stupid faces or act like a naive kid. Idiots act funny in a ridiculous way. And Brad in this movie did just that. In other words, he did great.
Brad acknowledged in Cannes last year that the character he’d play in this movie is such an idiot that he didn’t know how to play it. But the Coen brothers said that he’d be fine. And indeed, he was. He is a great actor. Besides he doesn’t only do comedy in his movies. He does serious movies too.
From an interview in Cannes last year
So when do you start shooting?
PITT: In August or September.
CLOONEY: Burn After Reading is the name of it. It’s just one of their nutty comedies — it makes me howl when I read it.
PITT: It’s a real stretch. George and I each play a loser in our own minds. [Laughs]
They do love to make Clooney look like a buffoon.
PITT: They might top it with Pitt.
CLOONEY: They might. This one might end two careers in one shot.
PITT: [Laughs] I said to them, ”I don’t know how to play this, I mean, he’s such an idiot.” And there was a pause and then Joel goes…
TOGETHER: You’ll be fine! [Laughter]
And also, didn’t you notice the haircomb. It’s for that kind of character he plays.
Hey- it´s ok if you like it. I simply don´t.
And a 30 second trailer is enough to judge if a person is a born comedian or not.
He is a good actor——–just not made for comedies.
Good-looking people can hardly play funny characters. It´s all in the face.
Have a nice day!
Test…
He’s so full of energy. Very funny. How can you not love this guy.
Brad should make more comedy movies. He is just so natural.
I think this looks pretty funny, and I will watch it. I see there are the usual criticisms about how he seems to be overacting or he can’t act, etc…
Well, don’t you get it? His character is supposed to be all dramatic and over-the-top like this. Yeah, he’s overly acting here, because that is the character’s nature and personality.
Brad’s performance in 12 Monkeys is so good that sometimes I get it out and just watch his scenes! haha!! My boys love that movie. We go around our house saying “Get outta my chair!” to each other. Brad is a very good actor, and he’s not afraid to mess up that pretty mug of his if that is what the part calls for.
Tommy-boy would never have to guts to take on a part like this, he is too insecure in his manhood.
I tried to post on Angelina’s VF cover thread, but couldn’t, so basically I was just going to say that I am relieved Angie did not give birth yet because those buns need to stay inside and cook some more. And LMAO at all the media outlets falling all over themselves about this false report. Idiots.
AND, I posted a nasty message on the Mayer Rolling Stone cover thread, because, seriously, Mayer has no business being on a cover of any mag (even a schlock rag like RS) with the likes of my beloved Jimmy Page! It is, to turn a Lainey phrase, all kindsa wrong.

Coens’ ‘Reading’ is fundamental
I have high hopes for the new Coen brothers movie, Burn After Reading, after seeing the trailer. (Note: This “red-band” preview contains some spicy language.)
The film stars Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt, who I’m now convinced is aging backwards. They play bumbling gym employees who stumble upon a CIA agent’s memoirs. George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich also star in the caper comedy. After serious epics like Babel and The Assassination of Jesse James …, it’s refreshing to see Pitt cracking jokes and doing stupid dances on the big screen.
You can also view the high-definition trailer on iTunes. The movie opens Sept. 12.
well ET removed the “twins birth” story from their site, so much for standing by their source lol

But local and state officials also should move to reduce carbon emissions through policies that encourage energy-efficient construction and improve public transportation, among others. These moves also make economic sense, as gasoline and energy prices continue to rise.
New Orleanians can take individual action to lower emissions, and many are. Many homeowners are rebuilding with “green” materials such as double-insulated windows and energy efficient appliances.
Now local and state officials have a way to quantify progress in lowering emissions — and that’s a tool they should put to use.

Summer movies the kids will view with anticipation
By JOE NEUMAIER
A series of kid flicks kicks off June 6 with ‘Kung Fu Panda.’
This summer, among brooding dark knights, horned hellboys and naughty love gurus, the movie goodies for families and younger audiences stand out like a Raisinet in your popcorn.
After the past month’s tween-friendly “Iron Man” and “Prince Caspian” (the less said about the flop “Speed Racer,” the better), there’s been a little lag until playtime starts. But things begin to get colorful on June 6 with “Kung Fu Panda.”
A celeb-voice-filled animated adventure - including Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Ian McShane and Seth Rogen - “Panda” tells the tale of Po, an enthusiastic, lumbering black-and-white beast who loves martial arts. When Po discovers he must fulfill an ancient prophecy, he studies with five fighters and their kung-fu master to face off against an evil snow leopard.
Everyone who watches those panda videos on YouTube: get your tickets now.

Good Morning all. Wow a lot of threads on BP and AJ. It is hard to know which one to post on. I checked the AJ Vanity Fair Thread and a troll was having a meltdown. I quietly backed out and came to this thread.
I am looking forward to seeing all the Jolie-Pitts movies. Best wishes to AJ on a healthy, private and happy delivery. Only the media can make jack asses out of themselves and blame the celebrities for making them look like fools. Fact checking is a thing of the past. Hire a few interns to check your stories instead of spamming blogs. Just maybe entertainment sites, blogs and so-called legitimate media stories will be taken seriously and not just with a grain of salt. Have a great day and make it a MIR day. Thanks for all the updates Just Jared, Our overly excited Blogger of rumors and facts. Peace to all.

you don’t know anything. The character calls for him to be this over the top dufus character just like his co-star Frances McDormand.
Brad really looks young in this even younger that TCCOBB. Both Brad & Angelina have two films coming out by the end of the year. That’s pretty good and they have incorporated having a family and doing charity as well as do all required press for their individual projects. They obviously have found what works for them. The media on the other hand have not :)
It looks hilarious.
Oops I forgot about Kung Fu Panda but that was not shot this year, more like 2 years ago.
Definitely i will watch the film.
Wish Jolie safe delivery
Re Vanity fair am happy that Angie do not pull out Demi Moore, if she did all the moral instructor (troll, hater) will be out in full with their multiple names.
Now the troll don’t what to do again the next is to analyze the word.
I pity the hater they claim they despise the family but they are interested in any interview or new picture more than fan.
hahah!!! i love it!! cant wait! brad is hilarious!
black soul,dont watch the movie.please!
Good morning BAMPZSville. Wishing all the fans a great Saturday. Enjoy your day everyone. I’m glad ET finally got a clue and retracted the twin story.
