Plot summer via Wiki: John Malkovich plays Ozzie Cox, a CIA vet who is fired because he is an alcoholic. He takes his revenge by writing some inflammatory memoirs. Cox’s soon-to-be ex-wife Katie (Tilda Swinton) steals the disc containing his memoirs and accidentally leaves it at the gym where it is found by a trainer, Chad Feldheimer (Pitt) and the gym’s owner, Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand). They believe they can use the info to blackmail Cox. Harry Pfarrer (Clooney) is an oversexed, fanatically fit, lactose-intolerant federal marshal who is sleeping with Cox’s wife. He meets Linda via an online dating service and gets entangled in the blackmail scheme, when he stumbles across Chad breaking into his and Katie’s house.
Burn After Reading is due to premiere on August 27 and will open the 2008 Venice Film Festival. The film is the Coen brothers’ first since the Academy Award-winning No Country For Old Men. Watch the trailer below!

He looked so much better with Aniston…they were twin souls. Angelina is sucking the hot right out of balding Brad. He and Ang are both looking wrinkled and haggard, while Jen looks great in a bikini. Angie looks like she’s an anorexic 45 year old.

How old are you, honey — about 15? Two people having blond hair and blue eyes doesn’t make them “twin souls”, it makes them cut-outs of each other. They had NOTHING in common beside both being actors. Yeah, Jen looks great in a bikini, but that’s the only thing she has going for her, and in a year or two she won’t look so great any more, and then what will she have left? Figure that one out.

Watching this clip reminds me of what Brad said at Cannes last year - that he told the Coens the character was such an idiot he didn’t know how to play it…and they said, “You’ll be fine.” Looks to me like the Coens were right! LOL. I can’t remember Brad ever going so far out on a limb for a comedy…

You don’t get it. Because it depends on what kind of character an actor plays in a comedy movie. In this movie, Brad is playing a character of an idiot person. Idiots act funny, like you said, pull stupid faces or act like a naive kid. Idiots act funny in a ridiculous way. And Brad in this movie did just that. In other words, he did great.
Brad acknowledged in Cannes last year that the character he’d play in this movie is such an idiot that he didn’t know how to play it. But the Coen brothers said that he’d be fine. And indeed, he was. He is a great actor. Besides he doesn’t only do comedy in his movies. He does serious movies too.

I think this looks pretty funny, and I will watch it. I see there are the usual criticisms about how he seems to be overacting or he can’t act, etc…
Well, don’t you get it? His character is supposed to be all dramatic and over-the-top like this. Yeah, he’s overly acting here, because that is the character’s nature and personality.

I t hink it’s pretty obvious that the haters have never seen a Coen brothers comedy. “Raising Arizona” anyone? Brad’s role really reminds me of Nic Cage’s role of Hi…the dumbest babynapper ever. Replete with silly faces, a stupid hairdo and what some would consider overacting…but funnier than hell.

To those who are saying that Brad’s over the top…
Errr… in the screenplay, Brad’s character was described as wearing a black unitard with neon green flames on it.
So stoic, unassuming, and restrained is not what is called for.

The losers are forgetting this little thing called…THE DIRECTOR. It’s the director’s job to get the performance THEY WANT from an actor. In this case, there were TWO DIRECTORS - Joel & Ethan BOTH direct. Ergo, if Brad’s acting is very broad and silly…THAT is what the Coens wanted. Not everybody is Jack Nicholson and continues to give the perfomance they want intstead of what the director wants, i.e. Nicholson vs. Scorsese in “The Departed”. Even though Scorsese wanted Jack to tone it down and Jack refused and kept right on doing what he wanted - his vision of the character instead of the director’s. I think Brad’s a bit more of a team player than Jack…

I’m still ROTFLMAO that they blew off one of the reigning principle of journalism - CONFIRMATION FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES. I know it’s a gossip show and not REAL journalism, but damn. Did they even bother to call the hospital and verify? Obviously they either didn’t bother contacting anyone in Brad or Angie’s camps or they didn’t get a response. Now they’re left looking as stupid as the Star magazine.
The other thing I’m still laughing at - those names. Like I said on Memorial Day…those are NOT names Angie would give her kids! LOL. People who come up with Shiloh, Pax and Zahara aren’t going to come up with Isla and Amelie. That’s like naming your kids Jennifer and Heather….inadvertent skewering on X…but I’ll leave it as is…

Anyway, Brad has been in a few good movies but his acting is NEVER the best part of the movies. He’s mediocre especially when you watch people like Christian bale, Johnny depp, Javier Bardom, Daniel Day-Lewis. Brad Pitt is not on that level. Brad is on the tom cruise level of acting. Decent and the only reason he gets those roles is because he’s super famous.
