The people who movies are made for and whose money make movies successful have voted. The winners have rightly taken their awards. End of old story. We’ve moved on to the next movie season and those breaking out with new movies, if any.

Zac deserved this more than Nikki IMO.

Just becuase Nikki had a bigger role, doesn’t mean she did a better job. She made the character unlikeable and annoying for me and her facial expressions were ridiculously over-acted.

I think there were other people nominated in the category who deserved it more than Zac though.

Congratulations, Zac!!! Loved his humble reaction and speech. And those two…just radiant…

And, Zac does deserve the award. I agree there was a lot of talent he was up against and I enjoyed their roles too. I think of the breakthrough award though as not necessarily an award for the newest talent…so, not to Nikki because it was her first role and she did do well in it…no dispute there…but as really breaking through by definition…through a barrier (kid fans to adult fans, for instance)…honestly, this was a big role for Zac. How many more adult fans did he gain from playing Link? What were his prospects before that role and after? And, I’m not being insulting…it’s not that he didn’t have any…it’s just that they really increased after Hairspray and then the success of HSM2 that followed. Now, in the last 5 mths alone, he has worked on filming three movies for the big screen. He’d been working in the business for several years and this really was his breakthrough performance. And, to me, he kind of stole the show…I had no idea who he was when I walked into the theater to see Hairspray that day and when I left, I wanted to know more about who he was.

Way to go, Zac!

Zac was nominated because of his talents and not because he has many fans. MTV can control the nominations but not the actual voting. ALL actors and actresses had EQUAL chance but voters seemed to like Zac more. It was Zac who won and not the others. He deserved this award because he IS talented and got this award because he has a huge fanbasis. And I don’t understand what’s wrong with that. Every performer has fans and supporters. So if you are not satisfied with the result then I suggest you that you should encourage your star’s fans more.

But do you really think that people would like him only because he has a pretty face and/or a cute girlfriend? No! Do you think directors would give him roles just because he has become famous? No! Do you think directors would actually write a script just for him if he wasn’t talented? Hell no! So let’s face it: this guy is only 20 and a half years old and I bet we will hear a lot about his work and success. So you’d better start to accept this fact. End of story.

Congratulations Zac - your hard work is paying off and you are being recognised for it. Well done. Shame Nikki could not share the award with you!
