OlderAngelina Jolie Wigs Out in Green
New pictures of Angelina Jolie from the July 2008 issue of Vanity Fair have surfaced. (The green wig was Ms. Jolie’s idea! It’s also pictured in the background of this photo.)
The photos were taken Jan. 31, before everybody’s favorite humanitarian, mother, and sex goddess publicly announced that she was expecting twins in August. Here are some new quotes from her interview, where she lets us inside her celebrity bubble:
On why they named their daughter Shiloh: “It’s a biblical name,” she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.”
On how she plans on raising her kids religion-wise: “[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.”
On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly: “After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”
On her father Jon Voight and his film Coming Home, which he won the best-actor Oscar in 1979: “Actually. I’ve never seen Coming Home. Because that was when my father left my mom, and the woman who he cheated on her with is in the film.” (When rumors surfaced about Jolie and Pitt, who was then married to Aniston, Jolie denied them, saying, in essence, Look, this is what happened to my mother, so I could never do it to another woman.)

Top of the Celebrity Hat Wearers List
The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips and her cousin Princess Beatrice took the top two places in this year’s annual Celebrity Hat Wearers List, with Zara pipping Prince Andrew’s daughter to the post.
They came out ahead of heiress Paris Hilton, actress Sara Jessica Parker and model Naomi Campbell.
Topping the men’s list - and appearing for the first time - was heart throb actor Brad Pitt, closely followed by England football captain David Beckham, actors Jude Law and George Clooney with Prince Harry bringing up the rear.
This is the fourth year the list has appeared. It is produced by Luton First, the town’s promotional consortium, in conjunction with the town’s internationally renowned hat-making trade.
Philip Wright of Walter Wright Ltd, Luton milliners since 1889, said: “It’s an exciting time for the industry at the moment. We have the dramatic contrasts in women’s styles from the more masculine to the highly feminine, with increasing numbers of men following the celebrity example and opting for some kind of headwear.”
Last year’s winners were Kate Middleton and Johnny Depp, neither of whom made it to this year’s chart.

Jolie, who is pregnant with her fifth and sixth children, told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival last month that like “Dumbo,” one of her favorite films as a child, “Panda” shows that what makes people different is what makes them special.
“(’Panda’) has that same message of whatever is unique about you is you, embrace it and don’t try to be somebody else,” Jolie said. “Our eldest three (children) have seen the film and they loved it very much, which is a huge thing because they are my biggest critics. … But the truth is, I think I would have done this film even if I didn’t have children because I think the message is great and I had so much fun doing it. But it is a real pleasure as a mom to be able to bring your kids to a film that you also really feel is a good film.”
She called it “a classic tale and it’s beautiful and it’s got a lot of nice moral messages to it.”

Studio Movie Grill and Variety Children’s Charity team up for Kung Fu Panda
… and kids with special needs get in free.

This coming Sat., June 7, selected North Texas Studio Movie Grills will host another in a series of free movie screenings for kids with special needs.
Organized by Variety: the Children’s Charity, Saturday’s show will be Kung Fu Panda, featuring cartoon animal martial artists voiced by Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu and that very real martial arts movie star, Jackie Chan.
While the special needs kids get in free at the Arlington, Dallas, Plano and Lewisville Studio Movie Grills for the 11 a.m. showing, parents will need to buy a ticket. And though it says here that the regular ticket prices are $6.75 (or $5.50 in Lewisville), I have it on insider authority that anyone can get in for $5 before noon as part of something called a “Gallon of Savings” promotion.

Idol Charities Still Waiting For Funds

Sure, there were lights and cameras. But, the charities that signed on for the televised fundraising edition of American Idol, the Idol Gives Back, still didn’t know how much money was going to be donated to them more than one month after the show’s April 9 airing.
And while they will eventually receive cash, they will never know who donated the cash so that they can follow-up for further development.
The charities — Children’s Defense Fund, The Children’s Health Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More and Save the Children - were not told how the foundation would divide funds and won’t receive access to donor lists. A spokesperson for American Idol’s public relations firm, BWR Public Relations, said that the fundraising will continue and declined to release the amount raised. The spokesperson, who likewise declined to be identified, said the revenue was comparable to last year’s $76 million.
Some of the benefiting charities didn’t seem to sweat the details. “It was great exposure. It will help us in the long run to get our name out there. That’s what we are most excited for,” said Ed Shelleby, spokesman for Children’s Defense Fund (CDF), a child advocacy nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. “It’s an opportunity to serve as an introduction to people who might not have heard of us otherwise.”
Said Shelleby: “It’s only the second year they have done this, so they are still figuring out how to divvy up the funds and how that works.” He said that interest spiked for the organization, celebrating 35 years this year, after the show. “We couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present. It’s just such a fantastic thing that they do and we couldn’t be happier.”
Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF) worked with American Idol and the Fox network last year to distribute more than $76 million collected during the two-night special. CPEF’s board includes Idol judge and producer Simon Fuller and Idol executive producer and Freemantle Media North America CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz. CPEF awarded $63.4 million in grants and used $5 million to pay for the campaign and other costs, according to CPEF. The board will discuss how to use the balance. CPEF plans to release official financial statements after completing an audit.
This year, the funds will be distributed by the newly-created Idol Gives Back Foundation with a board that includes Fuller and Frot-Coutaz.
Carole Sumkin, vice president of development at The Children’s Health Fund (CHF), said the New York City-based nonprofit saw a jump in Web traffic after the show and it “cultivated a wonderful boon to the organization.” CHF also benefited from the Idol Foundation last year. The $7.5 million donation funded more than 100,000 medical, mental health and dental visits for medically underserved children and other programs.
It was also the second time American Idol donated to Save the Children (STC), a Westport, Conn.-based nonprofit dedicated to assisting disadvantaged children. The organization has a global reach, but American Idol requested that this year’s donations be used specifically for the United States program.
“It was thrilling and an honor. We’re incredibly excited and incredibly grateful that they understood our value,” said Mark Shriver, vice president and managing director for U.S. programs. He said that the organization provided American Idol with an accountability structure and where the money would be applied.
Last year, STC received $13.5 million from American Idol and an additional $1 million from Allstate Insurance Company, announced during the show, to fund the organization’s education and health initiatives in Africa and United States.
Shriver said that American Idol exposure has brought STC’s message to a wide audience — from his 13-year-old neighbor to government officials on Capitol Hill.
“They have educated a generation of people,” said Shriver. Randy Jackson, a judge on the show, serves as STC’s first United States Programs Ambassador. “It raises the visibility that kids live in poverty all across the country.”
But interest in the charities might wane, leaving no way for the organizations to contact American Idol donors since the list is not made available to them. “It’s hard to develop donors if you don’t know who they are,” said Tim Seiler, director of Public Service and The Fund Raising School at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. “The response in a call-in program like that, a lot of times, is a spontaneous and impulsive one triggered by a stimulus — which in this case sounds like it’s celebrities. So the response might be as much to the celebrity as it is to the cause.”

A few years back, ComingSoon.net spent a day with the makers of DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar in San Francisco and learned what kind of time and care was put into every one of their computer animated films in order to deliver such high-quality material. Few would realize that it’s not nearly as easy as it looks, which is why it takes hundreds of animators many years and tens of millions of dollars to bring their unique animated visions to life.
Although he wasn’t there that day, John Stevenson was one of the many artists who worked on bringing that talking animal movie to life, and now he’s at the helm of DreamWorks Animation’s latest concept, Kung Fu Panda, a comedy featuring the voice of Jack Black as Po the Panda, a lazy slacker who dreams of being a martial arts master, a wish he’s granted when he inadvertently becomes the chosen one to take on the evil snow leopard Tai Lung (voiced by Ian McShane) who has recently escaped.

I seldom answer posts such as yours but I want to give you a piece of my mind. WHAT IF YOU ARE VERY WRONG? I think YOU JUST WANT TO CONVINCE PEOPLE ESPECIALLY YOURSELF that there was indeed some improper behavior committed by Angie during MAMS shooting, thereby Brad’s giving in to her eventually. . Did it really hurt you so much that you tend to judge a person even if you don’t know her???
Angie can never be hypocrite. In fact, she is too frank to a fault. She’s a very transparent person. Come on, Angie may be blunt but she’s not known as someone who takes somebody else’s husband. She doesn’t need that kind of a big headache. Everything you hear is always from tabloid kind of news. You implied that Angie seduced Brad or was taking advantage of Brad’s troubled marriage. You know what, Angie’s sex appeal is so strong that she doesn’t have to seduced anyone or used her beauty to get what she wants. People get attracted to her regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, status in life. It ’s a given already!!! You can’t just fault her for being that attractive. You can’t blame her if she has that rare gift ! Even if she has that, she uses it responsibly. Remember, she was not looking for a man that time as her focus was only for Mad who she just adopted.
When Angie said that she can’t do to others what her father did to her mother (cheating), I believed her at once. She knew how hurting it was because she knows where she’s coming from. I think want she meant is the adage, “DO NOT DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON’T WANT OTHERS DO UNTO YOU”. Simply called Karma. She may not be a spiritual or religious person but she was raised Catholic, and Catholics believe this just like other religions.
Angie only entered the picture after everything is in proper order, when Brad is unattached, free from emotional & physical relationship with his former wife. Meaning, when divorced has already been filed ( although it was obviously intentionally delayed, for whatever reason). As what Cliniqua said before, Angie’s fault is she was the NEXT relationship of Brad after X.
In my opinion, Angie is not the cause of Brad’s failed marriage. She is simply the EFFECT, and definitely NOT THE CAUSE.

Generally, people have already moved on. More people around the world love Brad and Angelina because they are perfect couple for each other. Brad has blossomed into a movie mogul and construction tycoon. Angelina is well-respected in Washington as well as her work for the UN.
Angelina is more loved and well-respected than the one whose name need not be mentioned.
More and more people are embracing the Jolie-Pitt family. Truly a fascinating family and indeed blessed.

As for MK - I can’t remember exactly how he worded it, but last summer he was on a roll whenever pictures of Z in NYC came out.
