Angelina Jolie Wigs Out in Green

Angelina Jolie Wigs Out in Green

New pictures of Angelina Jolie from the July 2008 issue of Vanity Fair have surfaced. (The green wig was Ms. Jolie’s idea! It’s also pictured in the background of this photo.)

The photos were taken Jan. 31, before everybody’s favorite humanitarian, mother, and sex goddess publicly announced that she was expecting twins in August. Here are some new quotes from her interview, where she lets us inside her celebrity bubble:

On why they named their daughter Shiloh: “It’s a biblical name,” she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.”

On how she plans on raising her kids religion-wise: “[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.”

On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly: “After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”

On her father Jon Voight and his film Coming Home, which he won the best-actor Oscar in 1979: “Actually. I’ve never seen Coming Home. Because that was when my father left my mom, and the woman who he cheated on her with is in the film.” (When rumors surfaced about Jolie and Pitt, who was then married to Aniston, Jolie denied them, saying, in essence, Look, this is what happened to my mother, so I could never do it to another woman.)

I am not sure whether or not I am comfortable with this thought, but I really love this photo!

Wow, she’s damn hot!! i love her!

I don’t know why people say “photo shop works wonders.” Angelina looked beautiful at both premiers at Cannes in Getty images which are not photo shopped and she also looks beautiful in candids.

Great! she looks beautiful.
They might be having a blast waiting for the babies :)

57,you are a psyco, what ever bad you wish for others will come back to you

I totally admire Brad and Angelina, but I must say on the question of religion they are somewhat misguided. Religion is not about a holiday. (Athought the majority of North Americans treat it as such). It is first of all spiritual, an all-encompassing truth that guides one very belief in one’s existence. It manifests itself in a tenet, a belief system that guides every facet of ones life. It provides the principles for living ones life. And its not Angelina’s fault that she doesn’t understand that….Angie was raised in Hollywood where religion is all about christening, funeral service and the holidays in between.

Ethiopians do celebrate Christmas and a large percentage are Christians. This Kwanza thing is more a secular holiday, not religious and certainly not endemic to Ethiopia. But Zahara will learn that when she starts to study religions.

So I’m happy the kids will be learning about the religions themselves as it is obvious Angie has got not got a clue. And that is not really her fault, like many in her social bracket and age group she was raised outside organized religion and Hollywood is not exactly the place to learn religion.

But Brad should know better. And the grandparents certainly know better. But this is not their call.

The important thing right now is the kids have a happy homelife and belong to a loving family. Another key thing about family is that set of shared values and principles which the parents impart to their children from an early age. This is what binds people together - shared values. The children are already separated by so much, if they do not have a shared set of values(religion) they will feel like a hotch potch of kids living together but not really a family.

If parents do not impart values to their children, outsiders will do it for them and the kids will fall for anything. Obviously this is not a traditional family and I hope they work it out early as this will be critical for the kids emotional and spirtual well-being.

I believe these photos were taken at their Malibu home.

Probably the same time Aniston was dry humping Vince Vaughan

“Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”

She met him and saw him as a father for her child? When she met him, he was still married and not at all separated. I don’t hate her and I don’t hate him at all - their relationship doesn’t affect any one of us. But if you’re trying to convince people that there was no impropriety in the way their relationship started, I have a bridge I want to sell you. Puh-Leeze. Now, let’s all move on and let everyone be. What’s done is done.

what a hypocrite, she did to Jennifer exactly what her dad did to her mom. I can’t stand her

SHE didn’t do ANYTHING to anustain. BRAD SAID GOODBYE and he ended up with Angelina. And I agree. I can’t stand anustain either.

A Dubai-based developer has hired BRAD PITT to be on the design team for a huge hotel and resort being billed as a world model for environmental sustainability.

“Mr. Pitt’s involvement in the cutting-edge design for the resort demonstrates his deep-seated interest in the project,” said a press release from the developing firm, Zabeel Properties.

The luxury resort builder also confirmed the appointment of the Los Angeles-based architecture firm GRAFT, which will incorporate Pitt into its design team. The complex will include an 800-room five-star hotel that will be used to host glamorous events and award ceremonies.

Pitt, who is currently involved in building 150 new affordable and sustainable homes in New Orleans for residents devastated by Hurricane Katrina, said he looks forward to the new building challenge.

“Selecting this development as my first major construction project has been a simple decision. It will underpin not only my values for environmentally-friendly architecture, but also embrace my career in entertainment.”

what a wonderful woman. Love her :)

This comment below from the VF interview is for those who are keeping score on whether Shiloh gets the same treatment as the otther kids:

*******I asked Jolie what kind of help she employs.

“We don’t ever have anybody spend the night,” she said. “We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and backgrounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher—wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Belgium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.” ***************

So one of the nannies is American.

God Bless them…

Teaching their children about all religions is great. ..and also being a student of all religions. In essence , all religions are the same. They come from the same source. Their basic teachings are the same. A Buddhist, a Hindu, a Jew, a Christian, and a Christian are all children of the same God. There are no differences. There is only one God, one religion, and our Creator wants us to get along and live in unity.

i am really loving the green wig

vickifromtexas @ 06/02/2008 at 11:52 am

she is gorgeous physically but she has a peaceful and ethereal quality as well. lovely pictures.

“in essence, look, this is what happened to my mother, so i could never do it to another woman”.

does she really think people, her die-hard fans specially, are that stupid?i suppose she can’t just say it outright considering how many fans she can possibly lose.

Funny how two people can read the same passage and get an entirely DIFFERENT meaning…how is Brad using her ‘alias’ when contacting her at a hotel she stayed at somehow made into a time he shouldn’t have been calling? Most celebs (specifically A listers) give an alias in an effort to be incognito, slip in and out as unnoticed as possible. It doesn’t have to be anything related to anything improper happening. It’s not like he would call and say ‘can you connect me with Shiloh Baptist’s room, this is BRAD PITT’….the hotel worker wouldn’t know his voice or know who it was calling for the person in that room LOL Use your brain HAHAHAHA

Besides, given a separation or ending of that relationship in January they could call anybody they chose.

Who knew green hair could be so sexy?! :-)

I probably shouldn’t say anyting but….I will..
I’m wondering if any of you “fans” who said you absolutely hated VF and would never ever never read their magazine again ….are going to break your word. It strikes me as extremely humorous and telling that Angelina Jolie…. who many of you worship…would do an interview with VF, thus letting you guys know that you really do not know her at all. She obviously has no hard feelings toward the magazine or hatred for the infamous “interview” that many of you use as a “reason” for hating Jennifer Aniston.
I hope this is a lesson learned, please please please take something positive away from Angie’s interview with VF….unfounded hatred is ridiculous.
NO, don’t start justifying…..just accept. Angie is not about hate, and if you truly respect her then you will follow suit.

I like what Angie said about Brad in the interview. She really loves him and admires him. I love the following quotes from her.

“but we certainly feel married.”

“Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor, I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”

“He just has an eye for it,” she said. “You hear people talk about design or buildings, and assume, especially when somebody has another career, ‘Oh, that’s a hobby.’ Like somebody coming into money appreciating Picasso. But I have seen him design, with his partners, everything from hotels to studios. Or in New Orleans, with other architects, re-doing a shotgun house with green architecture, bringing light in, angles of the sun in summer and winter, how that would affect the rooms. He’s taught me so much about the homes we live in.”

“This was actually one of the things that brought us together,” she told me. “Though he wasn’t as publicly active, I found him to be very aware of the world, very curious, very compassionate. In his private way, he had been doing a lot. When we met, we realized our common goals were that we both wanted to be involved in the world and see what we could do. We have similar interests but different approaches. He’s more involved in rebuilding New Orleans, environmental issues, green sustainability. I am more refugees. But when it comes to common goals—orphans, orphans’ rights, children—we support each other. It brings us together and makes our relationship work.”

“I love it. It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason. It makes you feel round and supple, and to have a little life inside you is amazing. Also, I’m fortunate. I think some women have a different experience depend-ing on their partner. I think that affects it. I happen to be with somebody who finds pregnancy very sexy. So that makes me feel very sexy.”
