OlderAngelina Jolie Wigs Out in Green
New pictures of Angelina Jolie from the July 2008 issue of Vanity Fair have surfaced. (The green wig was Ms. Jolie’s idea! It’s also pictured in the background of this photo.)
The photos were taken Jan. 31, before everybody’s favorite humanitarian, mother, and sex goddess publicly announced that she was expecting twins in August. Here are some new quotes from her interview, where she lets us inside her celebrity bubble:
On why they named their daughter Shiloh: “It’s a biblical name,” she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.”
On how she plans on raising her kids religion-wise: “[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.”
On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly: “After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”
On her father Jon Voight and his film Coming Home, which he won the best-actor Oscar in 1979: “Actually. I’ve never seen Coming Home. Because that was when my father left my mom, and the woman who he cheated on her with is in the film.” (When rumors surfaced about Jolie and Pitt, who was then married to Aniston, Jolie denied them, saying, in essence, Look, this is what happened to my mother, so I could never do it to another woman.)

she doesn’t need him. She didn’t want him, he was not what she was looking for, she wanted a non- actor someone with some depth . He chased after her… She has been trying to tell us from the beginning without tossing brad under the bus . She should just say it because she was the only one to get the blame and continues to take the fall for her boyfriend.

Brad Pitt to Help Design America-Themed Dubai Hotel (Update1)

June 2 (Bloomberg) — Brad Pitt, the star of “Fight Club” and “Ocean’s 11” who professes a passion for architecture, will be a design consultant for an 800-room hotel and resort Zabeel Properties plans to build in Dubai, the developer said.
Zabeel, based in Dubai, hired architecture firm Graft LLC to design an America-themed hotel in the United Arab Emirates city, the closely held developer said today in a statement. Los Angeles-based Graft, which has worked with Pitt on rebuilding efforts in New Orleans, will include the 44-year-old actor on its Dubai design team, Zabeel said.
“Acting is my career, architecture is my passion,” Pitt said in the statement. As “my first major construction project,” the Dubai hotel will feature “environmentally friendly architecture, but also embrace my career in entertainment.”
Detailed plans for the hotel and resort will be made public in the next few months, Zabeel said. The developer didn’t give the project’s exact location or say how much it would cost to build.
The company’s properties comprise about $5 billion of residential, commercial and hotel projects, including Tiara Residence and Tiara Hotel, which are part of the Palm Jumeirah artificial-island development.
Graft is one of the architecture firms Pitt began working with in 2007 to rebuild New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Pitt’s New Orleans-based Make It Right organization is working to build affordable homes in the area.
Pitt has long been an admirer of Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie MacKintosh and American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, BusinessWeek magazine said in a 2005 profile of the actor. He became friends with Frank Gehry during a home- renovation project in 2001, and studied computer-aided design at the architect’s Los Angeles offices, the magazine said.

Brad never said he did not chase her. He said to D. Sawyer that he was going to go for what he wanted in life but at the time of the interview, he did not know what was in store for him as regards Angelina. If there was something more to say , he was going to say it.

Yeah, but it’s not just any ‘divorce,’ it’s Angelina the sexiest most beautiful woman alive, and an ordinary looking woman who cries ‘victim!’ and ‘Look what they did to me.’ It’s Brad - epitamy of male beauty Angie-epitamy of female beauty and Aniston-average to ugly LOSER.
This whole saga has YET to be told as it really is, or happened. People that NEED to be called out, have yet to be called out. There’s a good thesis waiting to be done on the pathology of women and society and why Angelina is assumed to be the one in the wrong.
Even the haters concede they probably had no intimate sexual relationship, but their accusations of ‘cheating,’ is a broad umbrella: It could be everything from actual sex to secretly being attracted to just liking each other as people and winding up together romantically AFTER Brad’s separation - in which case, Angie is guilty of being ‘next.’ Which the haters gladly will turn into a new crime just for her. It’s funny, Aniston told the world that Brad told her he was attracted to Angelina - but when he did this is a bit fuzzy (had they separated ‘officially’ or just ‘unofficially’ with Brad using that admission as one more reason why they couldn’t go on). Either way, what’s missing is how Angelina feels. Did she know Brad felt that way? My guess is no - or, she didn’t go there. So then at the very least, it would be Brad who ‘emotionally cheated,’ on a then spouse. But Brad gets none of this bullsh*t. When he does his CCOBB interviews later in the year I’d be willing to bet no one goes back and dredges up this silly b.s. in HIS interviews. Ironic indeed, especially when it was his f*cked up relationship with an albatross named Aniston. Then the dude has the gall to say this whole thing was an excellent career move? Really an Oscar winner, multiple GG ans SAG winner, all time best ever female action film opening, and Pauline Kael likening her to Brando…yeah she needed to be known as a tabloid queen. Even now it disgusts me that this new piece in VF has thrust us back to ‘05.

It’s truly lovely. I love that being a mother, wife, and activist hasn’t diminished playful Angie as a sexy woman, but rahter helped her blossoming into a beautiful human being all around.
