OlderAngelina Jolie Wigs Out in Green
New pictures of Angelina Jolie from the July 2008 issue of Vanity Fair have surfaced. (The green wig was Ms. Jolie’s idea! It’s also pictured in the background of this photo.)
The photos were taken Jan. 31, before everybody’s favorite humanitarian, mother, and sex goddess publicly announced that she was expecting twins in August. Here are some new quotes from her interview, where she lets us inside her celebrity bubble:
On why they named their daughter Shiloh: “It’s a biblical name,” she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.”
On how she plans on raising her kids religion-wise: “[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.”
On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly: “After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”
On her father Jon Voight and his film Coming Home, which he won the best-actor Oscar in 1979: “Actually. I’ve never seen Coming Home. Because that was when my father left my mom, and the woman who he cheated on her with is in the film.” (When rumors surfaced about Jolie and Pitt, who was then married to Aniston, Jolie denied them, saying, in essence, Look, this is what happened to my mother, so I could never do it to another woman.)

I totally admire Brad and Angelina, but I must say on the question of religion they are somewhat misguided. Religion is not about a holiday.

You’re being deliberately obtuse. Angie didn’t say religion was about holidays. She said they would teach their children about ALL RELIGIONS, which obviously means that one way to do that is when a holiday comes around to celebrate it and explain it’s significance for the religion. She said they would take the kids to temples and churches, etc., too. Do you think they’re going to look at the architecture? Of course not. You don’t just pop into a Buddhist temple to look at the fat guy’s statue. Angie’s not that kind of person. So stop reducing what she said to a soundbite. She obviously didn’t get into their full plan. She merely gave an example of the the types of things they would do to explain religions to their kids. Sheesh.
Do people really have to turn everything this woman says into a dissertation on what she’s doing wrong as a parent or a person?

When she wore that big (mumu) dress, it was the SAG award which was Jan 2008. That was the FIRST time she wore that dress causing speculation. Before that, she was always covering up in a trench coat.
There was NO award show in November.
She is beautiful in every angle specially the first & third picture. They should put those on the cover instead of the one that they selected. Misses the whole Jolie-Pitt’s family while I was away, now, I’m back. Glad to see the new thread.

there weren’t any award shows in November — how do you have an award show before the year ends? She wore the Hermes tent at SAG in late January 2008.
#43: It sounds like Angie was hiding out from Brad by using a different name while she was staying in a hotel. Of course, Brad would be asking for Angelina Jolie and the clerk would tell him there was nobody there by that name.
I think he’s had to work hard to get her that is why he got more besotted when he did get her. Guys love the chase…it makes the prize much more sweeter that way.

I don’t hate her and I don’t hate him at all - their relationship doesn’t affect any one of us. Yet another simpleton. Try doing a little math. Take what you already know and add it to what she said in this interview. “Then I met Brad” doesn’t mean that she decided at the exact second they shook hands on the M&MS the first time that he was the man for her. It means that AFTER SHE GOT TO KNOW BRAD OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. She already said in Vogue last year that it wasn’t until the end of M&MS shoot that she realized there was more between them than friendship. That was in October 2004. X said in Harper’s Bazaar in Dec 2005 that she knew her marriage was over BY THE SUMMER OF 2004. “By the summer”…summer starts in mid-June. It doesn’t take a neurosurgeon to factor in the iciness between Brad & X as Cannes to know that by the time she made it to Italy in June…the marriage was OVER and they both knew it. Hanging on that last 6 months was stupid on both of their parts. They should have pulled the plug and gone their separate ways, but stupidly played cat-and-mouse and Angie gets to catch the shite because of their stupidtiy. People are NEVER going to be able to move past that and will continue to blame Angie when they should be looking at the two people who were married and didn’t want to be!

Brad and Maddox Hit the Races

Brad Pitt and his eldest son took a four-hour road trip from their rented villa in France to watch the Mugello Grand Prix in Italy.
“Brad wanted to go and Maddox was really excited after watching the Monaco Grand Prix the week before on television,” a source tells E! News.
“They wanted to go to the Monaco Grand Prix together, but it was so rainy that they canceled at the last minute.
“They both had a great time and they met Valentino Rossi after he won, and Maddox asked him lots of questions about the Formula One race cars.”
(Just wait until the kid decides he wants his own motorcar.)
“During the race, Brad gave Maddox a pair of sunglasses to protect his eyes and earplugs to protect his ears, as the noise from the Formula One cars is incredible,” says our insider.
“But one of the mechanics in the pit lane that they met gave Maddox a pair of professional ear protectors to wear, so he was really happy with that.”
While Brad and Maddox watched the Formula One race in Italy, Angelina looked after their other three kids in France.

First, she looks FAB for 13 weeks preggers there. 2nd- ok enough with Kwanzaa. That is a California made up holiday, Zahara is FROM Africa and according to most , that is NOT celebrated there!!!

I really HATE the tone of this interview. I swore of VF but i will break my rule, just this once. Only to show support for our girl, Angie. Like the other poster said, I’m only going to concentrate on the positive things. Besides, she is absolutely drop dead gorgeous in these pictures. The way she support Brad’s passion is simply romantic. Their love story really helps restore my faith in “soulmates”. She is truely an inspirational woman. Love her and her beautiful family.

Are you reading what she said? No where in this interview did she she verbalize she met him and instantaneously saw him as a father for her child. What seems to be clear to me is she wasn’t looking at him as someone she would be with (an actor, famous, etc) and was looking at a different type of guy that was more in line with the humanitarian work she does. She met Brad and over time determined he might fit the bill, which was surprising to her obviously as he wasn’t the type of guys she saw herself eventually being with.
Kinda blows holes in the theory she ‘chased’ or ’stole’ him doesn’t it? If he wasn’t what she was looking for, how could that be true she went after him? It’s obvious, Mr. Pitt was the pursuer and had to show parts of himself to her to make her look at him differently. It appears his choice to do that was the best thing that ever happened to both of them

Amen. As usual…the haters see what they want to see. Or in this instance deliberately misinterpreted what she said to fit their idea of what really happened. Hell, Brad’s said in interviews on at least 3 occasions that HE CHASED ANGIE AFTER THE SEPARATION. How much clearer do they have to be about the timeline? These twits want dates and places and they’re not going to get that kind of specific detailed information. And even if they got it…they’d either not believe it or they’d twist into something it wasn’t.
It absolutely cracks me up that after 3 1/2 years the haters, trolls and Fanistons can’t move on. LOL. They’re here and dissecting what’s said more than the fans do. And then they accuse us of not being able to stop talking about X! If they’d quit troll-baiting…we’d only have to make fun of X when she embarks on the Ass & Cooch Tour instead of every damned day. hello!!!! Brad and maddox did not got to Formula One but to a Moto GP.It’s two different grand prix. This is mediocre reporting. If they can’t make this very obvious event right, whta else are they not checking.

Interviews and photoshooots seems to be about the only time they use that Malibu house. The pix of Angie and Mariane Pearl that were in Glamour last year where shot there as well.
The VF interview left me disappointed in that writer. Nonetheless, I will buy this issue because I think the pictures are stunning.

Why is it people like you always forget that his marriage was whoppling around on one leg YEARS before Angie ever came in the picture. YEARS. Not months. Not weeks. Not days. Not hours. YEARS. While on paper, the subject of Wanted sounds dark and dire, Bekmambetov injected his wry and decidedly off-kilter sense of humor into the narrative. Jolie comments, “I like that this film doesn’t take itself too seriously…It’s a little more nutty and has a sense of humor about itself. It doesn’t pretend to be too cool and there is something textured, European and a little funky about it. Timur is a very focused, deep-thinking guy, and it’s cool to see him in the middle of a big Hollywood movie, bringing something to it that is unusual.”

Love how you trolls take comments out of context. Angie was asked if she and Brad were lovers and she said she had 2 men who she sometimes had sex with and “I don’t need Brad.”…as a lover. She didn’t have him and didn’t NEED him if all she wanted was sex. Sex she could get anywhere. THAT is called context, loser.
#59: pinkrose, one thing I have learnt is that you can’t force religion down your kids’ throats. You can only do so much…some lead by example hoping it will stick or you let them figure it out for themselves but you just help steer them to the right direction.
The JPs believe in God…that’s a good start right there. The rest will fall into place when the kids are old enough to decide. You can be the most devout churchgoer but there can come a time when you question your faith or get conflicted. Sometimes, all religious instructions go down the drain as secularism takes over. You can never tell. Just be glad they’re keeping their options open.
They’re being very smart and unselfish with letting their kids get to know their own as well as the other religions. They’re dealing with it now instead of later on when it’s more difficult to answer the inevitable why, why, why? Religion is a very sensitive subject and a convoluted process to get through.

i agree with you and even with pt giving dates and rebutting the lies these people want to believe the scenario that angelina “stole” jennifer’s man. everyone involved has refuted this and dates refute this but they nurse this grudge. it is as if they need to believe it. sometime some women are each other’s own worst enemy.
