Nikki Blonsky Makes the “A-List”
Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky blows kisses into the audience as she models on stage during Bravo’s First “A-List Awards” show on Wednesday at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Unfortunately for Nikki, her entertainment managers filed a lawsuit against her for breach of contract.
According to Newsday, Blonsky, 20, and her mother, Karen Blonsky, reportedly did not cut Nikki’s firm into the money she earned her Hairspray role.

You don’t know her eating habits, how she leads her lifestyle, obviously if she can hold her own for 8+ hours of dancing a day - she’s probably a lot more healthy than most of you.

Just curious here, and you people don’t have to answer, but how many of you who are complaining about her weight are also too heavy for your height and age? There are a lot of people out there who rag on others because they don’t like the same thing in themselves. Yes, it would be beneficial for her to reduce some of that weight now while she is young but everybody in this world—particularly women—are not meant to be no more than a size 8. And just because she is not your typical Hollywood starlet type does not mean she can’t be pretty.

You know, at the end of the day, whether you love her or hate her, she’s the one having a blast with her life - traveling, meeting other celebrities, starring in movies and walking red carpets. She’s having a ball, and I hope she keeps it up for years to come. The best part about Nikki? She really doesn’t give a rat’s behind what you think about her! She’s happy with herself, and I wonder how many people who post cruel remarks about her can say that about themselves?

Hey, Headband, who are you using for a judge to say that you are better than her, yourself? Let us see a picture and then let all the haters decide if you are better—at least then you can’t say they were bias against you.
Also, working in the medical field, I would like to take this opportunity to say that even if you have just ONE parent who is overweight that you will also have a 86% chance of having a weight problem. If both parents are overweight your chances of weight problems go up to 97%. That is why so many people who start out overweight when they are young rarely can overcome that problem. If any of you out there have a parent who has always been overweight and you are not overweight now, just wait, you may have to experience the problem as you get older—especially if you are a female.
Plus, you can’t choose where you come from biologically.
I don’t understand why people feel the need to post terrible things about the celebs they don’t like. Why waste your time doing that? Is it fun for you? Does it make you feel better about your own pathetic lives? If you don’t like them, avoid the post!

YAY! Another Nikki posts and it didn’t take us months to get it. That sucks about the lawsuit….not exactly the kind of news I was hoping fore but nonetheless, thank you Jared for posting on Nikki.
I love her hair but I am not crazy about the dress they designed for her. She still look beautiful though. :D I think it’s cool she got to model for the show and I can’t wait to hear more about the new show she is working on. Hopefully we will get to hear more about that sooner than later.

FYI, I’m a huge Nikki fan, but I’m 5′1″ and about a size 1 or 2. Her size doesn’t really matter to me, it’s her talent. I loved her in Hairspray and that’s that. But I do think the Hollywood standard that you have to be super thin to be pretty is messed up, and I think it’s cool she’s trying to change that.

I am happy that she was asked to be a part of this even and that just goes to show you that even plus sized people can walk the cat walk and walk it well. I am not that crazy about the dress or hairstyle but I think Nikki wore it well. JJ thanks for posting on Nikki I do not think she gets the attention she truly deserves most of the time so it is nice to see that we did not have to wait months to get something on Nikki.

Well, I like her. I think she’s great. From what I understand she has an amazing personality and, from what I can see, she is amazingly gorgeous and talented, which is more than some of you shallow freaks will ever be.

Love her! she’s got charm, style and a sense of glamour. whenever she speaks during an interview I am amazed at her poise and quick and intelligent responses. this gal is all win! good for Nikki Blonsky.
Just wanted to clarify something I said as it seems that some people misunderstood. I DO believe a lot of Nikki fans may also be heavier than some folks would deem acceptable. However, what I was trying to point out is that I believe many of the haters that post about Nikki’s weight are also overweight themselves if the truth be known. Of course, there are those people who think because they have no weight problem that Nikki is disgusting. However, they can’t be sure it won’t happen to them some day.
I graduated with a girl who was never heavy, was a cheerleader, and both parents were of a normal weight. After the girl got married, and had two children her weight soared to 300 pounds and nobody could figure out why. She even had a bypass done. It didn’t help at all. After about 5 years, she died—and the doctors still could not figure out why it all happened. They figured it was something hormonal and that’s why I am saying to the females out there, you can’t be sure what your body will do to you in another 10 years. If someone would have told me I would be the weight I am today, I would have laughed at them because I always said I would be loosing weight BEFORE I ever put on too much, but that isn’t always so. And I have dealt with nutrionists and everyone else I can think of—including going to gyms, etc.

I saw her on the local news when Hairspray came out and she said that the girls who bullied her in school are now asking for her autograph. She said she harbored no grudges. Seems like a nice girl. Her face is pretty, but she does need to get to a healthier weight.

I’m so sorry to hear about the lawsuit, but it happens alot in Hollywood. I believe it is over a verbal agreement so hopefully it doesn’t hold. But it is a real shame that she has to deal with this.
It’s cool that she’s participating in the fashion show. I don’t care for the dress. She has lost quite a bit of weight since the fall, which you can see in her face and figure in other appearances, but this dress is too poofy at the bottom. The top is also too close to the neck and doesn’t let her show off her best assets! ;) But I love the cinched in waist, and the red belt!

I can’t wait until we hear more about the TV show that she is developing, and about the album she’s working on!

She tried to steal Zac? I doubt it. She and Zac seem to have become good friends, and I do think there is a mutual crush thing, whether it was anything they ever even talked about or did anything about, who knows. But I’m quite certain she didn’t try to steal him. That’s the sort of thing a lot of immature Zanessa fans say to put Nikki down.
I do think she has something special. She has amazing confidence and courage and charisma. She is very articulate and level-headed and talented, and I can’t wait to see where she goes in her career.
I hope that she works on another movie, soon. Although I’m sure she’s very busy with writing music for her album and developing a TV show.
Oh, and her movie with Spencer Breslin and Cuba Gooding Jr, “Harold,” comes out next week!!!!!
If obesity is such a problem today, and I agree it is, why are fat people glorified. Sorry for putting it so plainly, but it’s an unhealthy lifestyle and it’s a big drag on the medical system. Get on a treadmill.
Nikki has put on weight, and yes it is not heathly, for her heart knees and possible Diabetes. I should know because my mother was overweight, but she is losing the weight and she has all of these problems and she was not always overweight. Her parents were not overweight, alot of her health problems show up until later in her life and she is 71.
But kids that have parents that are overweight, does not always become overweight if they are not feed a bunch of junk food and it proper snacks as in fruits instead of candy.
Nikki is a good actress, But when she wears dresses alot of times where her boobs are about to fallout. And the main time that you see her dressed like that is when she knows that she is in the same location as Zac Efron knowing that he has a girlfriend and she is with him, like at the Palm Springs film festival or when in Japan and they were going to annouce the beginning of some MTV award show and she started running her hand up his thigh and the person is wearing a kuupi ring (which means Sweetheart in Hawaii) from his girlfriend. So I am not loooving her hair, but aside from that she looks stunnging. I love the length and the lace on the dress, but I must say that the cut of where it starts to poof and flow out is not the best choice. And I feel the top is much to conceled and covered up, it over all is just unbalanced. Aside from the minor things she rocked it and had fun, and at the end of the day that is all that matters. I am excited to watch the A-List awards and see here there having a good time and enjoying herself, she deserves it after all the work she has put into her last three movies and her album work and traveling.

Jen, the friends thing with Zac I would agree but I highly doubt the crush thing, I mean the mutual part that is. I just find it odd that people say there was something that went on with this 2 during HS apart from maybe a good working relationship since you never see them together anymore or hear Zac talk even the slightest bit about her except when they maybe bump into each other during some hollywood events or awards show.

Stealing Zac is the most ridiculous thing…Nikki is a very bright and confident girl and can get a boyfriend on her own terms…despite her pluz size she has a great personality and is very charismatic so guys who are not so into perfect bodies will see that beauty and uniqueness in her…Zac saw that that’s why they developed that closeness while filing the movie and likewise remained close during the long promotions all over the world…they made out and held hands and it wasn’t just for show…Zac admitted on national tv that he and Niki had a thing going and would chose her when asked who among the hairspary girls he would date if he had a choice…he was so quick to say i really think that me and nikki had a thing going…whatever that means is just between them…obviously he is with his chick Vanessa now but that doesn’t mean that he had no chance to enjoy te company of other girls while filming movies and he is a regular guy (i hope) who still enjoys hanging out with all kinds of women at his very young age..

OMG Nikki Blonsky is grossly obese. She literally made me feel sick when looking at her in that dress, it is way to short, no one should have to see those grotesque legs. For those of you who are posting all the comments about Nikki’s weight and the health risks, etc. I hope you’re going on threads for celebrities that smoke and post all the health concerns associated with smoking. Or the risks related to alcohol for those that drink. And the risks of automobile accidents for those that drive or ride in cars. And the risks of a place crash for those that fly in planes. Etc etc.
Yes, Nikki is overweight. However, it doesn’t affect my feelings towards her in terms of her talent, personality, reputation, or the work that she has done. Also, Nikki has lost weight since the fall. It is obvious to tell in her pictures in recent months. Unfortunately, this dress doesn’t show that. But it was made for her to wear, she didn’t design it herself.
Melinda, congratulations to you for losing weight. I’m sure it had an effect on your health. However, doctors agree that weight alone is not what determines health. Many people are overweight but are very fit. I’m sure that Nikki takes care of her health, and her doctor ensures that. Remember, also, that for Hairspray she danced for hours every day, so she must be fit.
Take a look at her photoshoot for “Harold”, where she’s wearing a great red dress. She looks amazing, and much slimmer than the early fall. I’m really proud of her for that accomplishment, but I would be proud of her no matter what because of her character and talent.
Anyway, these threads on Nikki always come around continuously to her weight, and it’s not that it doesn’t matter, but that it isn’t what her fans focus on. That is her business, and we like and respect her for who she is and what she does.

She’s not here to decorate your world, people. Get over it.
First, some of you—and you will never admit to this—have a phobia and prejudice against people who are obese. That is proven fact. Many studies have been done on this. And as I have said in a previous post, be careful when you say “I would never allow myself to get that fat”. You don’t have a clue as to what may happen to you. It is a very dangerous thing to say “I will NEVER…” Most of the time it comes back to bite you in the butt.
BUT losing weight is not that easy for many reason. I would say most of you who are complaining about her weight and who do NOT have a wight problem have never experienced this kind of problem so you have no clue as to how hard it is. IF it was so easy to lose weight, nobody would be fat. IF it was so easy to stop taking drugs, nobody would be an addict, etc.
Think of Oprah. How MANY times has she lost weight? How MANY times has she gained it back? Do any of you know WHY? It is in her genes. Her body simply is use to that and it is how it responds. Ricky Lake, she has been fat and she has been skinny AND she has been fat AGAIN. Then there is Carny Wilson who was suffering medical problems because of her weight and had surgery. She lost a lot of weight BUT she was still not that small even at her smallest weight. AND what has been happening to her now? The weight is going back up. That is just the way it is with some people. You who are so judgmental may ought to look at your problem…
Also, I have never found it to be helpful to constantly tell people they need to lose weight. It never is helpful to tell someone there is something that is not perfect enough about them especially when it comes from someone who has never had the problem or who just wants to be insulting. I hope Nikki can do something in controlling the weight while she is young because it is a fact that as a person ages, they get heavier.

It’s strange to me that people pan Nikki for being overweight…it was her weight as much as her fabulous talent that got her the role that made her famous. If she chooses to try to lose weight in the future, that is solely her choice. I think she looks great as she is, and she has publically said that she is quite happy and comfortable with her body. I just think it’s weird that people pan her for being fat as if they have ever seen her thin. I think she has great looking legs, shapely calves and her ankles are not swollen or out of proportion. Every girl who had a brain to think and analize,must be have a same answer that nikki is the gorgeous girl who had a strong attitude to making her way going right.And this cause,why her to be admired.
I think that, first of all, it is not about shape or size. No matter how “cheesy” it sounds, a person’s personality should be the thing people notice first rather than their appearance. I think that discrimination/nastiness because of someone’s looks should have been eliminated when it was alright to associate with people with different skin tones. As for the “she’s ugly” comments, beauty eyes of the beholder, once again “cheesy” but true. The celebrities/non-celebrities you personally think are fit/buff/pretty/beautiful may be some of the most horrid people with a bland, vane personality. Many people could think that Nikki is not pretty, but then again, many would think she’s gorgeous.
