Nikki Blonsky Makes the “A-List”
Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky blows kisses into the audience as she models on stage during Bravo’s First “A-List Awards” show on Wednesday at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Unfortunately for Nikki, her entertainment managers filed a lawsuit against her for breach of contract.
According to Newsday, Blonsky, 20, and her mother, Karen Blonsky, reportedly did not cut Nikki’s firm into the money she earned her Hairspray role.

Saying a person needs to lose weight and exercise a bit is not docking talent points. I am personally a big fan of Blonsky; I absolutely loved her in Hairspray! I’m just saying that a person with so much talent deserves to have a long, healthy career, not forever being type cast and held back by her extra pounds.

I loved Nikki’s dress at that CD release she attended, she looked absolutely breathtaking.

If she wants to lose weight for health reasons thats one thing but losing weight just so she can look like every other California nobody is another thing. She is very talented and its sad to see that no one judges her on that.People just judge her on what she looks like.Id rather look at Nikki who’s a size 18 or 20 who is very talented than Paris Hilton who’s a size 2 and has absolutely no talent what so ever.Try judging her acting and not her size.She happy the way she is so im happy for her. It’s strange to me that people pan Nikki for being overweight…it was her weight as much as her fabulous talent that got her the role that made her famous. If she chooses to try to lose weight in the future, that is solely her choice. I think she looks great as she is, and she has publically said that she is quite happy and comfortable with her body. I just think it’s weird that people pan her for being fat as if they have ever seen her thin. I think she has great looking legs, shapely calves and her ankles are not swollen or out of proportion. As for the dress-eh, it alright…Love her anyway!
YES #132!!! I completely agree with you. People are saying they get physically sick when they see Nikki because she is overweight. So when you see other actresses with their ribs protruding and cigarettes dangling from their fingers, people think they look fabulous? Are you kidding me??
All of these comments on her weight are ridiculous. Yes she is unhealthy, but that does NOT mean she’s ugly. People who are overweight are not automatically ugly; anyone who thinks that is obviously superficial. Nikki is radiant and talented. She exudes charm. What does weight have to do with either of those qualities??
As if being overweight is the biggest crime known to man. It is not the most offensive thing in the world. And being role models doesn’t relate to weight at all!!
I should be more concerned with the drug problem and other illegal things actors are doing in Hollywood than bashing Nikki because she looks different.

Every girl who had a brain to think and analize,must be have a same answer that nikki is the gorgeous girl who had a strong attitude to making her way going right.And this cause,why her to be admired.
I think that, first of all, it is not about shape or size. No matter how “cheesy” it sounds, a person’s personality should be the thing people notice first rather than their appearance. I think that discrimination/nastiness because of someone’s looks should have been eliminated when it was alright to associate with people with different skin tones. As for the “she’s ugly” comments, beauty eyes of the beholder, once again “cheesy” but true. The celebrities/non-celebrities you personally think are fit/buff/pretty/beautiful may be some of the most horrid people with a bland, vane personality. Many people could think that Nikki is not pretty, but then again, many would think she’s gorgeous. I personally don’t care about her shape, size or looks, as long as she’s happy being herself and that she is a nice person. So, haters, keep your mean and critical thoughts to yourself and remember the meaning of this message when you next go to make a mean remark about someone’s appearance. There are many successful and brilliant larger people in the world who make great achievements, work on acknowledging them. it’s better to find one fault in yourself than one million in someone else. And, if you only slate others because you yourself feel “ugly” or “fat”, try to get a different view on it; if you don’t critisise yourself about it, you’ll find that, in time, you care less when others do it to you.
