Sex and the City Takes Marie Claire
Sex and the City has been doing phenomenally well at the box office, earning the title of top-opening romantic comedy of all-time. And now the ladies of Sex — Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis — each have their own covers for the July 2008 issue of Marie Claire, out June 10th.
The girls share the gossip, glamour, and truth about the SATC cultural phenomenon:
Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) on holding out to make the movie: Four years ago I was going through a painful public divorce, the series was coming to an end, and my father was diagnosed with dementia. I felt it was time to be with my real family. A year-and-a-half ago, when I was sent the script, I was ready and strong enough to revisit Samantha. In some ways, I’m glad we waited. The script and the experience of making the movie was the best possible reunion.
Producer Darren Star on the gals of SATC: “These were women who were objectifying men. And it was sort of jarring. Men aren’t used to hearing themselves depersonalized and referred to as Mr. This or Mr. That. I think if you had a show with that sort of locker-room talk from a bunch of guys talking about women, it would be a little ‘yuck.’”

I like all thier outfits in the poster.
Can’t wait to go get that issue!
JARED YOUR SITE IS EFFING UP, FIX IT BOY.
it seems like all the covers are photoshoped
love that movie!
There’s something weird about SJP’s face in her cover pic. Kristin looks great if a little plastic. Very thin. I love Cynthia! She looks beautiful. I wonder how many days it took to photoshop Kim’s pic. She doesn’t even look like Kim.
Everyone is photoshopped these days, whether they need it or not. The magazines expect everyone to be flawless. So much so, sometimes they don’t even look human. I really don’t know what the fuss is about Sex and the City. Just seems like an older version of the self absorbed Friends tv show. Good luck to the ladies though, this must be all they want to be known for.
hags
love it!!!

Kristin has always been the pretty one.
But all these covers are photoshopped to death.

the movie was soooooooo good!
I loved the series & I so loved the movie. It was just fun - that was all I expected & all I wanted. Yest the gals are getting older but I think it is great to send the message out there that girls can by sexy & have fun at any age. Let’s get rid of the double standard! Can’t wait for the sequal.
I love them..so pretty
they are great
I loved the movie, I’m on SATC overload and I love it
the movie was hysterical
Karlo, I’m really surprised by your allegation that a magazine would use Photoshop to retouch their cover images. Next you’ll tell me the sky is blue, or that George W. Bush is stupid. Preposterous!
I loved the serie and I’m sure I’ll love the movie.
Samantha you are the best !!!!!!!
They are excellent! Stylish, FUCHSIA, glamour girls!
As for movie- I didn’t enjoyed it. Serial is better.
